"Come on guys! Let's all go to sleep!" Kana said as she dragged all of us back to the upstairs floors.
"Come on, let's have a rematch! We only have two lives each while both of you had three!" Hotaru said, refusing to accept defeat. "What do you mean?! It's totally fair! We had a total of six lives each!" Hotaka replied.
I can't believe that Hotaru is accusing them even though we had the advantage... "Now, now, guys let's all get along." Haruka interrupted the arguing foes. "It was Akari's decision to throw the game. Let's just respect her decision. It's Kana's room after all. She deserves to sleep in her own room regardless if she wagered it." she followed. They all then looked at me, Kana and Hotaka showing expressions of gratitude, while Hotaru gave me a pout.
"Erm... Never mind that guys! I'm tired from all the playing. Let's just go to bed already-" "Young Mistress, your mother has requested for the party to join her for dinner tonight." I was interrupted by a maid... As much as I hate getting cut off like that, I gotta thank her for redirecting everyone's attention towards her.
"Great timing! I was getting a bit hungry so I was about to call you to ask for dinner," Kana said.
Oh, I wonder what the Sayuri's have for dinner. Would it be like a fancy dish or some sort of golden meat? I can't wait! I can make another novel with this information! Like, imagine this, the main love interest of the main character of my next novel would be like some rich CEO and the main character would be some middle-class person... Sound cliche, now that you think about it...
As I thought about a potential new novel, I couldn't help but get distracted by the giant hallway, wait not a hallway, more like a corridor with extremely bright lights, it can potentially blind someone... Man, this place is absolutely huge! It really makes you think what Kana's parent's jobs are...
"This hallway is as big as the ones in school!" Haruka said. Kana chuckled and replied, "Oh, come on. You exaggerate!" Kana jokingly said. Ah, a humble millionaire, I see...
"Welcome to the dining room, Young Mistress, and party. The Mistress is waiting for you inside." The butler standing by the entrance of the dining room welcomed us. I don't know about others, but I'm shaking! Who knows what can be on the other side of the door?!
The butler opened the door to reveal a massive ballroom, lights as orange as the sunset, and a table as long as the room itself! "How many guests do you have on a daily basis? hundreds?" I jokingly said. This atmosphere is so tense I don't think I would be able to eat properly... Dude, this room screams "fancy" in so many ways, I almost feel out of place...
"There you are! Come, come, please, sit down!" Mrs. Sayuri told us. We all sat down at the opposite side of the table, Kana sitting at the head, and the rest, sat beside her to form a U shape. at the center of our U shaped positioning, was a microphone and a speaker. "Please forgive this awkward situation regarding the mic and speaker, we usually only use the dining room whenever there are hundreds of guests..." Mr. Sayuri said through the speaker.
"No need to worry too much! We don't really mind!" Hotaka said in the microphone, though his voice was a bit high pitched and shaky.
"Anyways, dinner will be served shortly by our chefs, how does a simple beef stew sound? I heard that one's pretty tasty!" Mrs. Sayuri also said through the speaker.
"That sounds good! Reminds me of home." Hotaru answered. "Great, though, we have to wait a bit. The chefs are a bit understaffed at the moment due to the heavy rain." Wait, speaking of heavy rain, how come I never heard any lightning or any rain at all? I need to ask Kana about this later...
"Did you guys have fun playing?" Mr. Sayuri jokingly said to us. This guy has to stop stalking us using the cameras... "Dear, I thought they were studying just a couple of hours ago, you didn't tell me they were playing." Mrs. Sayuri gave a smile to her husband that can give anyone chills across their spine.
"We were, Mom! We just took a small break to get our minds off of the stress! Nothing too much!" Kana quickly jumped to defend her father. "Is that so, dear? then would you mind answering a test later to recall what you studied today? You know, the tests are coming up soon. If you fail another time, we're gonna have to transfer you to another school to save your grades!"
...
...
You have to be kidding me... right? The entire room went silent. "Erm... Of course, I can! I remember every single detail of what I studied!" Kana pridefully said back to her mother. What a better way to dig a deeper grave. It went from six feet to twelve in an instant!
"I'll take your word for it. But I can't just trust you like that. Tomorrow, after breakfast. You shall take a test to prove to me that you can handle the upcoming Examination this upcoming Monday." Mrs. Sayuri said to Kana.
"Honey, we should give our daughter some time to study some more, let's give her a break, huh?" Kana's father attempted to calm his wife.
"Very well, then..." she said. We all exhaled in relief but was interrupted mid-way.
"You four, help Kana study tonight. For your own benefit, I'll test you all too so you all can pass the examination with flying colors." she followed.
"Honey, I don't think you understood me-" "What was that dear? Was that not enough?" She interrupted Mr. Sayuri and gave him another one of her death smiles.
"Erm... It's alright," he answered with a defeated tone.
"It's settled then! Tomorrow, after breakfast, you five shall take a test on what you have studied today. Please don't think of me as an enemy, I simply want what's best for you all." she said.
