When the world was created, it was built with the structure of a tower. In a world with humans, monsters, demons and angels and celestial beings, each floor was created to suit each species according to their kind. The higher you go in the tower, the more powerful celestial beings you meet, in the same sense, the lower you go into the tower, the more powerful monsters and demons you see. Earth, where the humans live, is in the middle of this tower. The Goddess who lives at the second floor of the tower, blessed 7 children who would serve and protect mankind from the other beings; at least, that was her ostensible goal.
She gave the first child great intelligence, no one could ever rival her intelligence.
The second child was given great physical abilities, which included superhuman strength and impressive speed.
The third was given the ability to rule over the land and the seas, which meant that he could control landscapes, create hills, mountains and many more.
The fourth was given the ability to use black magic, which was the magic used by the demons and monsters.
The fifth was given the ability to control the skies
The sixth was given the ability to use light magic, which was the magic used by the celestial beings.
And the seventh was given the ability to create and destroy things,The power to bless and curse, this power, because of its nature, was given the name, God.
Other entities decided to also give these children gifts, but the goddess gave them one last gift which was infinity. The goddess had the ability to make them immortal, but she didn't. Instead, she made them come back a century later after they died. Her reason? No one knows.

" huh?"
" Yes, you see that mark on your shoulder? It means you have special powers, like those in fairytales."
Sage's mouth dropped open as she concluded that the old lady was mad.
" Just cause I have a strange birthmark doesn't mean anything,"
" What kind of child has an infinity sign for a birthmark?!"
"ME!!" she shouted.
"Then why do you think people killed your parents? Why do you think people are chasing you? Cause they're bored? Or they wanted to go play hide and go seek then kill?! Think child!"
Sage wanted to oppose, but she knew that the woman had a point. She rested her back on the couch as she swallowed the enormous lump of information she had just received. She looked at her palms, the fact that she had powers was something any 7-year-old would be excited about, but pictures of her massacred family flashed through her head and reminded her how powerless she was. Lost in thought, she didn't even realise when tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Child..." Preme said in a calm voice as she tried to comfort her. Sage cleaned her tears as her eyes beamed with determination.
"so, what do you want from me?"
Preme let out a devilish smile as she was happy with Sage's sudden change of attitude.
"All I need from you, child, is for you to awaken your powers, in return, I will teach you how to use them properly, feed you and provide a roof for you to sleep under. Simple right?"
Sage smirked. She knew that a deal like this was too good to be true, but then again, she didn't have any other choice.
"And what do you stand to gain when I awaken?"
"Hmm... let's just say, I'm doing this for the greater good." Preme said as she stood up from her chair, she let out a heavy sigh as she walked into the kitchen with her left hand placed on her hip.
"Let me get you some food, I know you must be hungry after that compulsory exercise you did for two days," she said before letting out a light laugh.
Sage still couldn't believe everything. She looked heavenward as thoughts flushed in. It was all too much for her to handle. She had just lost her family two days ago and now, two days later, she found out she had powers. When Sage connected the dots, everything made sense. Her parents forbade her from going outside and they were planning on moving to the Watician empire, and a day before they were supposed to depart, 'that' incident happened. But there was one thing she didn't understand, which was why they didn't want her to leave, but all those thoughts disappeared as food appeared.
Her jaw dropped open as she saw the food that Preme brought for her, the same food that woke her up from her slumber.
"ha! Enjoy the meal, child."
"Sage."
"Hmm?"
"My name is Sage, not child." She said as she continued to stare at the food. It felt like she hadn't eaten in years and that day was a heartfelt reunion. A reunion between her and food, but Preme's laughter interrupted that.
"I know your name, child. But I feel calling you child is more befitting don't you think?"
Too busy to concentrate on Preme's words, she continued her reunion, before she finally took a bite of the food. Her eyes lit up as she swallowed the food. That warmth that came after each bite was something she never thought she could experience again, and before you could say jack and jill, Sage had emptied her plate and thanked Preme for the meal.
"Get some rest child. You're gonna need it." She said as she handed Sage an extra blanket and left the room."
"She's strong. No wonder my legs didn't respond when I tried to move earlier... I still have a long way to go." Sage said to herself as she lay down back on the couch and prepared to sleep.
