"Child, child, child..."
Preme called out as she tried to wake Sage up but all to no avail. Sage continued to snore although it was already 1pm.
"FOR GOD'S SAKE CHILD WAKE UP!!!" Preme shouted out of annoyance.
"I SWEAR I DIDN'T DO NOTHING!!!" Sage shouted as she jumped up from the couch, her hands crossed over her chest for defense.
"what in the world?..." Preme was dazed by her sudden attitude. She couldn't bring herself to understand children.
'This is exactly why I didn't have children, strange creatures that make weird noises and have an enormous appetite. They're..... scary! And I thought this one would be different,'
Preme thought to herself as she shook her head in disgust.
"oh! It's just you Preme, you scared me back there" Sage said as she scratched the back of her hair and let out a faint laugh.
"Do all children sleep like you do?" Preme asked, still dumbfounded at how long Sage slept.
"Huh? I don't know... well my little brother slept for a day once when he was small, and my dad usually has my mom wake him up.... yeah, so maybe?" she said as she shrugged.
"ok... there's food in the Kitchen and i got you some clothes, so wash up and meet me in the front immediately after your done"
"got it!" Sage replied as she saluted Preme.
Half an hour later, Sage came outside as Preme had told her to. With her Inky black hair and midnight eyes which complimented the simple white gown Preme gave her, Sage was truly a sight to behold.
' wow! She really is beautiful.'Preme thought to herself as Sage approached her.
"So? How do I look!" She said as she twirled.
"You look like an angel who got lost on its way to heaven, child."
"aww! Thank you Preme!. So, why did you call me out, anyway?"
"Sit down first, child."
As Sage sat down next to the old lady, she couldn't help but notice how Preme's face suddenly became serious.
"As I told you before, you have powers, but now let me explain how you got those powers, child." Sage's face brightened as her eyes blazed with curiosity. She would finally understand everything.
"There are other beings, other than humans. Demons, monsters, angels, giants, celestial beings and many more. Each has their own world where they live, just like we have earth. Think of each of these worlds as floors in a tower and place earth in the very middle of this tower. That is how our world is structured." Preme paused as she took in a deep breath.
"Each floor has their own, 'God' or 'King' that has a lot of power and protects them and ensures that no intruder from other floors comes. But humans didn't have their own; reason being that all of them are weak, which made them an easy target. So the goddess of the second floor blessed seven children with different powers, so they could serve as gods to the humans and other gifts were given to these children by other entities." Sage's eyes widened in awe as her jaw dropped open.
"beings? demons? goddess? Powers? Children? I'm part of the seven children??????!!!!" Sage blurted out before Preme put a cheese ball in her mouth to make her shut up.
"..." she calmed down and continued to chew.
"But there is also another thing... gods can die and anytime a dod uses its power, it becomes weaker and the life span shortens. When a god is eaten, the eater's lifespan increases and if that being is weak, they would gain the power of the god they ate. When the goddess made seven children gods, she did it so that ...
"SHE MADE US GODS SO THAT SHE CAN KEEP UP INCREASING HER LIFESPAN.... Damn! That's messed up!" Sage said, completing Preme's sentence.
"I think I just took in too much information at once, Preme. I still have so~ many questions."
"Don't worry, I'll answer the rest in due time." She said as she patted Sage on the head.
"I get that I need to awaken, but how?"
"Hmm.Since you were not born with your powers like the other gods, your's takes time to accumulate in your body but you can awaken them under rare circumstances such as, just luck, that is some people just awaken earlier while some people can awaken when feeling a strong emotion such as anger or sadness. But don't worry, it takes time. There's no rush child. I'll help you."
