Chapter 4 - CHAPTER THREE

"WHY? WHY? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?!!"

The empress sat on the floor of her room drunk, as she screamed her lungs out. She was livid. Livid at the fact that the princess had awakened and Sage was on the loose. They had broken their pact with the deity, there was no way to sacrifice them now, the king was dead, and now she had to suffer the repercussions. She trembled with rage as anxiety clouded her thoughts. Her sense of reasoning went as thoughts of death came in.

"IT'S ALL THAT GIRL'S FAULT! IF ONLY, IF ONLY SHE HADN'T AWAKENED!, everything i worked for, everything I've done to get here... it's all useless."

Tears welled up in her eyes as she ran her hands through her head. Frustrated with life, she needed someone to blame for everything, someone to pour out her anger, at least, only then would feel a little better.

"Even now, all you care about are your selfish desires." Olivia said as she walked into the empress' room.

"Leave me." The empress replied without turning to look at the person talking.

"Even now, you don't even care about your sons." Olivia continued as she moved closer to the empress.

"LEAVE ME!!!!" The empress screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Why? Why did you have to be the mother of those children, you don't even care about them?" Olivia said under her breath as she faced the empress before letting out a heavy sigh.

"OH! HOW LOW THE MIGHTY HATH FALLEN" She shouted in a mocking tone to annoy the empress who continued to stare at the ground, tears dripping down her face.

"It's all your fault...why? Why can't you just die!" The empress shouted as she grabbed Olivia's leg.

"GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF ME!" The empress shrieked as Olivia's red eyes turned cold as she stared at the empress. She remembered all the things the empress had done to her, all the things she had been through because of the empress which only fueled her anger. Putting her hand on her chest, she told herself that she couldn't get angry yet.

"Ha~ Tell me what you know about the deity and why they want children to be sacrificed to them."

"I, I don't know" The empress said, turning her head to avoid Olivia's gaze.

"You are the paragon of women in this Empire, and your pride will never allow you to bow your head to anything or anyone, but here you are, obeying a deity. Tell me what you know."

"..."

The room remained silent before the empress finally spoke.

"I've seen them. They are monsters, and they want your powers."

" Powers? I have powers? Do the other children also have them?" she asked curiously.

"Yes..."

"I have been wondering why they wanted the children's powers and how they would get them. I found out they eat you to gain more power, just like how we take multivitamins to increase our performance and health, they take you as 'once in a century' multivitamins that improve their performance temporarily. That is why they come back every century."

Olivia ran her hand through her hair before letting out a deep sigh.

"Continue."

"There are six other children like you. All of them have that infinity mark you have on your shoulder. There is one in each empire, but since the Merde empire no longer exists, there are two in our empire, you and another girl."

The empress paused before looking at Olivia.

"I really didn't want you dead... I tried my best but there was no other way..." She said trying to look remorseful. Olivia's eyes widened with disgust at the empress' words.

"You sly fox, so you would even bow to a seven-year-old just so you can live. It's sad that you thought i would ever help you." Olivia continued talking as she paced around the empress.

"Give me just one reason why you thought I would help you."

"... I am your mothe-"

"My mother?" she said cutting her short.

"don't make me laugh. Since when have you ever played the role of a mother figure in my life or in the life of your sons?"

"... I,"

"Just stop. There is no excuse you can make that can ever justify your actions." She said, not allowing the empress to finish her sentence.

"So what are you going to do now? Allow that demon to kill me?!"

Olivia tilted her head as she rubbed her chin.

"Me? I'm just going to get revenge." She said as she let out an evil smile.

"Wh-what?!"

" I know you killed my mother, your only sister. just so that you could become empress."

Cold sweat dripped from the empress' face as words left Olivia's mouth.

"I- I don't know what you are talking about..." She said as her voice became softer.

"Tear a limb, tear two more~ start from the legs, and go all the way up~ no time to waste! The throne awaits!"

The empress' eyes widened as Olivia sang . She took a huge gulp as she tried to understand why she sang that song.

"Oh, surely you will remember that song dear aunty," Olivia said with a beaming smile.

"You sang it when you killed my Mother. You started from her legs, before cutting off her arms then she died from too much loss of blood!"

"H-how? Did you know..."

"I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, and since them it has haunted my dreams, so now, shall we start my revenge?" Olivia said as she clasped her hands.

"HA! You are just seven ,there is nothing you can do to a full-grown adult. You're just words."

"Oh really? Then watch me. Pertha, answer my call." She said as her red eyes turned cold as she let out a devilish smile, and her crimson red staff came to her. Pertha was a gift given to the first child from the best weapon maker who lived on the second floor. Pertha was one of a kind and it only answered its master's call. It was made with the strongest and sharpest material known to the celestial beings. Pertha can also change its shape in terms of length and size.

"Goodbye Aunty, greet father for me in hell."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Welp, time to look for the other children. Something big is gonna happen, I just don't know why and when. I'll really need their help." Olivia said as she left the remnants of what used to be the queen, laying on the floor.
