I pulled Lumina behind me, staring down at the fearful Zeke.
"H-How?! What did you do? Give her back... they'll kick me out!"
"Don't care. You never belonged here. You couldn't even grasp what a true contract could do."
My hands lit up with a bright luminescence. It twinkled like starlight, but there was no heat. Lumina hugged my arm tightly. Staring into the light.
"To think you could actually touch me, let alone gain so much control over my magic. So... can I?"
I could see the desire in her eyes. I nodded slightly, allowing her to freely do what she pleased. The next moment, she was behind Zeke... her hands holding a bright spear that gleamed like the Sun.
"Hehe. It's been a while since I've held my Sunseeker. So, ready to die?"
The spear was held against his throat, a light trail of blood dripping down. I don't like torture, but I'd make him suffer more if I could.
"Lumi, don't get blo-"
FWISH
I pulled Evelyn back around beside me, flicking out my hand towards the strange sound. When I looked, three thin silver needles were embedded in my hand... one piercing my ring.
"Myria!"
With just her name, a tornado formed around us. Hearing where they came from doesn't mean I know where my target is. They got too close, too fast.
"Aww, and I thought we would have an easier time. Too bad..."
"Sister, don't be stupid. Master Einhertz wants her dead, but don't tease him... crying the first time was hard enough."
"I know, I know. I bawled my eyes out too... still can't belive they did that to him."
Evelyn looked up at me. She was heavily confused, but fear crept into her eyes as she stared at my arm.
"P-poison! Sylv..."
"Immune, don't worry."
I pulled out the needles, each one flying off into the tornado. As I pulled out the one embedded in my ring, my blood coated it as it turned to dust.
"Shit..."
I regained my true form, still holding Evelyn.
"Is it really time for your illusions?!"
She looked kinda miffed... oh boy.
"I'll explain later, Evee. Right now, this succubus is trying to kill you. I didn't think they'd show themselves so soon."
I smirked at the thought of going back home soon.
"Lana! Reina! I wanted to thank you for helping back at the carriage. I also want to know the full story, but I'll never forgive you if you keep trying to hurt Evelyn Rasswell."
A quick gout of flames ripped the tornado open. Flitting inside, the girls trapped in the same body stared deeply into my eyes.
"You still look at us that way... like a caring older brother. Did you know how we felt? Did you know what we went through? All that fucking pain and bullshit because we wanted to keep you safe! We loved you then, and we love you now, but you're still being threatened in this life. We won't let him touch you, so if that means you won't forgive us..."
More needles seemed to spawn between her fingers.
"You dumb girls. Mysti, water blade at my throat. Now."
Without even a hint of hesitation, she held her hand against my neck. Sharp currents of water continued to pass around her fingers, slightly touching my neck. Blood trickled down as I stared at them.
"I've died once. I'll gladly give up this body to save someone else's life."
"And what sayin I won't kill her after?"
A sharp voice pierced the tension. The demon teacher finally showed himself.
"Sure, I'll lose the fighting power of a powerful Demon Goddess, but even she can't kill me."
"The Primordial Goddess."
There was an audible hitch in his voice.
"You speak of her so casually. You insolent welp! I'll kill you myself!"
Two steps. That's all he took.
"Did you really wait so little time to call me out here? While it's good to see you, you're a pain in the rear!"
A simple tear in the fabric of reality, as well as her subtle voice pointed out who was before us.
"Lyrana... to think you'd come to pay me a visit. Have you finally decided to be mine?"
She giggled within her void.
"Not in the slightest. Oh, Syrus, I hope I wasn't too forward last time. That kiss was supposed to show you that I meant it."
I smiled slightly. She's a downright brat.
"Meant what?"
"That I'll be yours silly. I'm waiting..."
Her voice echoed like a bell as I stifled my laughter. Beyond the void, the demon grew truly angry.
"You're such a player in this life. Syrus... can she cut the chain?"
I looked over at the succubus. She tugged on an immovable chain attached to a collar around her neck. It led to the demons wrist.
"Stupid bitch. Don't think I'll let him take two things that belong to me so easily!"
As he began to vanish, an audible and loud but unseen noise went off. I looked closely, watching as the chain vanished into nothing.
"Wow... that was easy. I gotta go now Syrus! Take care of your girls, and get your castle up and running! Or at least a town... I dunno."
The Lana and Reina combo launched herself at me, hugging me tightly and sobbing. She was no longer a bound goddess... for now. A slight tug pulled me back to Evelyn.
"You have some explaining to do, Mister Syrus. I shall take you to the trial room, where you can explain fully. Including every lie you told me."
I could see the tears in her eyes. Before I could do anything, however, a sharp pain brought me to my knees.
'S.C. Ring has deemed you worthy of its bond. You can now shift between Syrus and Sylvia at will.'
