I realized that I hadn't told David about the pager after I reached my room.

I sighed, I had been so distracted by the news that I was getting a mission that I didn't tell David the main reason I wanted to see him.

Picking out a sheet from a notebook on my dresser, I wrote a note to David.

I found flowers in Pink, Amber, Green, Emerald and Red,

Sorry I didn't tell you sooner!

The first letters of the names of the colors stand for 'PAGER', David will know what to look for when he got the note.

I folded it and waited for my mission file to arrive, I'd ask the person who got the files to deliver the note to David.

A knock sounded on the door after a few minutes. I got up to let the person in. It's the same girl that left the laundry in Miranda's room.

She handed the file to me and introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Katherine."

I shook her hand and give her the note. "Hey, I'm Luciana. Could you hand this over to David?"

She nodded, accepting the note and left, shutting the door behind her.

Taking a seat, I placed the file on the table and flipped through it.

Name: Karl Summit

Age: 45 years

Family: None

Occupation: Manager of 'Black Pearls'

Deadline: 19 August, Monday

I shut the file and groaned.

Today was the deadline.

I checked my phone, it was still around 2. I decided to prepare myself by training until 4. I'd leave soon after that.

Putting on a jacket, I walked to the training room and changed into a T-shirt and a pair of shorts. I looked into the mirror on the wall and put my shoulder-length black hair in a tight pony and walked out.

Just as I got out of the changing room, I spotted Zachary and Cole standing near the door, probably waiting for me.

"Hey! What are you guys doing here?" I asked them.

"Well, you said we could train if we were supervised and we saw you come in and thought to ask if you could give us an extra session, maybe?" Zachary asked, scratching his neck and looking at Cole, as if for confirmation.

"Sure I could train you, I need to warm up a little anyway, I've got a mission." I answered, nodding.

"Great, we'll go get changed then." Cole says, grabbing Zachary's hand and pulling him towards the changing rooms. Zachary gave me thumbs up.

I shook my head, smiling a little, I returned the favor.

Selecting a gun from the stand, I loaded it and walked to the shooting zone. I changed the settings a little so that the targets were at a farther distance.

I won't need to practice anything else because the mission is simple. I just have to go, shoot the guy and come back.

Like taking candy from a kid.

I shoot and the bullet goes right through the center, I smirked. No matter how long it's been since I've used a gun, I still get the center.

"Wow! It was a perfect shot!" one of the guys exclaimed.

"Years of practice will do that to you." I said, looking at the ground.

Especially when you'd do anything to get better.

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts, and without thinking I blurted out. "Why did you choose to come here?"

Both of them look stunned but recovered quickly and Zachary answered. "I didn't want to be like the others, I wanted to be different. Wanted to do something that would help me escape myself."

I gave him a small smile and nodded, I understood that. Then I looked at Cole, waiting for his answer.

He just looked away, embarrassed.

"Hey, don't worry, you don't have to tell me. I get it, but if you ever want to talk about it or anything else, you can always come to me, okay?"

He just nodded, looking down. I turned to Zachary. "The same goes for you."

He nodded too, and I asked them if the distance of the targets was all right for them. They didn't seem to mind it and started shooting.

I was looking at myself in the mirror standing in my room, all prepared to leave for the mission.

Taking in my reflection, I gave a little nod. The bulge on my right side, where my gun was holsted, looked a little odd, so I put on a jacket to cover it.

I walked out of my room and down the stairs. I had to go underground and then come out of another building. This was how people got in and out of here. On the outside, the IAO building was like an abandoned old building so it might look suspicious if people walked in and out of here.

I found the staircase at the end of the tunnel and climb, pushed the lid covering the hole and got up. The place looked like a storage room, it contained several boxes covered in dust. Opening the door in the side, I moved out. There were many people here but they barely glanced at me. Having an assassin come out of their storage room must be common then.

I removed my phone from my pocket and checked the address. I had taken a picture of it from the file so I didn't need to memorize it. It was nearby, so I decided to walk.

My destination was a tall, luxurious building. Damn, this guy was loaded. Hope he enjoyed his life 'coz it was almost over.

He lived on the topmost floor, so I decide to take the elevator instead of the staircase. I pressed the button and waited. It was empty, so I climbed in, happy to have avoided interaction with strangers.

In front of my target's front door, I picked the lock easily and before picking the lock I put on gloves so as to not leave any finger prints.

Not that I could be arrested anyway.

It was around 6, so I assumed Karl might be in his living room. The house was eerily quiet, weird.

How did he not hear me come in? Where was the screaming?

Confused, I took my gun out and put on the silencer, to reduce the impact of the bang. I aimed in front of me, ready to fire if attacked.

I walked into the living to and saw that the television was running, but it was on mute. I walked a little further and froze, and almost dropped my gun.

In front of me Karl Summit was lying on the floor, his eyes open wide, staring at nothing.

Dead.
