Chapter 12 - Jake POV

She's not going to come. Why did I think she would actually come.

"Well coach, you don't have to cry, I'm sorry I'm late for practice" I must have looked noticeably upset, I looked up to see Liv standing there.

She looked stunning. She looked hot. I've never seen her in anything but athletic clothes and she made my heart race then, now she's taken my breath away.

"W-w-w-wow, you look amazing" I said and I reached out to hand her the flowers I got her and I dropped them in the ground.

Get it together Jake! You're embarrassing yourself. Stop fumbling around.

"Thank you, The flowers really pretty" she blushed and said as I stood up getting ready to hand the flowers to her.

"I really mean it, you're gorgeous"

She laughed and looked away from me, I didn't mean to make her uncomfortable.

"You aren't too bad yourself" she replied giggling.

"Well should we head to dinner?" I asked.

"Yes! I'm starving!" She exclaimed.

I took her to my car and got the door for her, she seemed surprised.

"Do you want to pick something to play?" I held my phone up.

"No, I think you should. Then I'll know if I should jump out of the car or not" she laughed

"Ahh so you're going to judge me entirely on my music taste?"

"Well you've already checked multiple boxes, this is just a different one"

"What boxes?" I'm kind of confused.

"I'm only teasing. You know the checklist girls have in their heads"

"What's the checklist?"

"Ya know, attractive, funny, nice, good work ethic, good listener, music taste..."

"Soo how many of those have I checked?"

"Well depending on what song you play, you might get a perfect score Mr. Gradden" she said blushing.

"You think I'm a t t r a c t i v e?" I teased, only making her blush more. She playfully slapped my arm. Which I acted like hurt.

"Wow didn't know cross runners were so strong that hurt!"

"Oh stop!" She laughed.

I finally hit shuffle on a playlist with songs form Bon Iver, Jon Bellion and Jeremy Zucker. She seemed to really dig it. I pulled out of the parking garage and we headed to dinner.

I picked a cute midrange steak place. I asked Maggie and she said that Liv really likes meat but wouldn't be comfortable with anything too fancy. Her eyes lit up when we arrived. It was right on the lake and had outdoor seating with those patio lights girls like a lot.

I got out and got her door, again she seemed so surprised. She tripped a little on the curve and I grabbed her arm making sure she didn't fall when I caught a glimpse of a lacy bra.

Damn. It was so hot. She is so hot. I just want to rip that dress off of her and fuck her so hard.

My face started burning and I knew it was getting red.

"I don't know why you're embarrassed. You didn't just trip on a first date with a cute guy" she interrupted my thoughts as she noticed me blushing.

"I'm just nervous to be here with you."

"Me too."

"So let's not be. Let's just agree to not be weird?"

"Good idea in theory, but basically I'll just keep being nervous you'll decide you don't like me!"

"You really don't seem nervous. You've been teasing me and seem so confident. I'm not going to ever stop liking you by the way"

Oh my god. Did I just say that on our first date. We haven't even sat down for dinner yet.

Before she could respond the hostess came up to take us to our table.
