Chapter 13 - Searching

Morticia woke up in a guest room, remembering she was still being held hostage at Lionel's. She could hardly see through her blurred vision, and she felt something too comfortable underneath her. She was laying on a bed that was soft but firm and the only thing good about the bed was the black sheets covering it. Morticia cringed at the white walls and the perkiness everywhere. Lionel knocked on the door and walked in.

"Hello, Mrs. Addams." Lionel said, carrying black flowers in his hand. Morticia's favorite color was black but she cringed at the smell of the petals. The smell of rose petals always made her sick.

"Those flowers.....smell." Morticia said weakly.

"Well, I only made them special for you." Lionel said placing the flowers on the nightstand by the bed.

"Please....." Morticia begged. "Cut off the heads...." Morticia began gagging at the petal smell.

"Sorry....but I thought you would like these." Lionel said. "They are black after all." Lionel kissed Morticia's forehead. Morticia tried to back away but was too weak to do so.

"And once your husband gets here, he shall die, and it shall be just you, me and your children." Lionel said.

"I'll die before I married you..." Morticia breathed. "And....before.....you have my children."

"We'll see about that." Lionel said tucking a stray strand of Morticia's silky black hair from her face and leaving the room. Morticia tried to get up but failed. She thought of her family and the new friends she had made. As much as she wanted her and Gomez's lifeless bodies to rot together for all eternity in the Addams family cemetery she couldn't bear to die alone. No husband, now family, no children, and no friends by her side. She longed for everyone, Gomez and the children especially. She wondered if they would ever find her although deep down she knew they would.

Gomez drove over the speed limit on the interstate and everyone was beeping their horns at him, which caused him to be irritated.

"Stop beeping your horns at me when I'm trying to find my missing wife!!" Gomez exclaimed, his blood boiling in his veins.

"Why don't you try that way." Mama suggested pointing to a dirt path that lead into the woods.

"Are you sure?" Gomez asked. "Why on earth would I go into those woods if I don't know for sure my wife is in there?

"Well, there isn't any law against tryin' now MUSH!!" Uncle Fester exclaimed. Gomez turned the car toward the dirt path that would lead them into the woods. Gomez entered the woods, the Munster's following and there were nothing but trees and a dirt path in front of them. Eventually, Gomez turned a left turn and there was a white mansion with trees circling around it. There was a water fountain that created the perfect waterfall. The bushes were nicely trimmed and there were were flowers everywhere.

"You couldn't possibly think Morticia could be in there do you?" Uncle Fester asked.

"There's only one way to find out." Mama said. "We go in."

"Yes, we will go in and split up." Herman said.

"Herman I will look around outside." Lily said. "Marilyn, you and Grandpa search downstairs."

"Fester and mama, you two will search downstairs." Gomez said. "I want to find this quack alone. If whoever has my wife is in that house they're mine."

"Can we help?" Eddie asked.

"No dear, this is far too dangerous." Lily said. "All three of you are to stay out here no matter what happens, am I understood?"

"Yes." The children answered in unison.

Everyone split up in search for Morticia. Gomez looked upstairs. He checked the bathrooms, and the bedrooms. He tore the beds up, and made a mess of whatever he could get his hands on. He considered giving up when he remembered there was a room he hasn't looked in yet. It was at the end of the hallway. He went to the room and opened the door to see his beautiful wife lying on the bed. She looked like she was unconscious. Relived to have found his wife, Gomez immediately shut the door and rushed to his wife's side.

"Tish?" Gomez asked gently shaking his wife. Morticia slightly turned and opened her eyes to se Gomez through her clouded vision. She smiled weakly then immediately went unconscious again. Gomez scooped his wife up bridal style and wrapped his jacket around her. He carried her as quietly as possible down the stairs and tried to find the rest of the group. All do the children were waiting outside, sod Gomez though that would be the best place to go first, since the children's safety was at the top of everyone's priority list. Gomez went outside to look for the children. They weren't there which worried Gomez a great deal.

"Children?!" Gomez called, looking around. They weren't in plain sight, and Gomez knew he was going to have to look harder. He decided to look around back. They weren't there. Still carrying Morticia he looked in the bushes or anywhere the children could be. They weren't anywhere outside, so he decided to go back in the house. Gomez still realized he was still  carrying an unconscious Morticia. He carried her back to the family car and laid her gently in the back seat.

"I'll be back Tish." Gomez said before kissing her forehead and running back into the house to find the others. Gomez opened the door to go back inside when he felt somebody hit him hard on the head.
