Chereads / Munsters Meets Addams / Chapter 15 - Leaving

Chapter 15 - Leaving

The Munsters and Addams were gathered around in their living room. Morticia was knitting a new scarf for Cousin Itt. Not that Cousin Itt needed it, he had enough hair on his head for him to be able to hibernate. Cousin Itt just like scarves and requested Morticia to make him one, so she took his request and started to work on his scarf.

"Gomez dear, do you think Cousin Itt will like his new scarf?" Morticia asked.

"Well, not that he needs one, but he will, because it came from you." Gomez said, kissing the top of his beloved wife's head.

"Thank you, Gomez." Morticia said. Cousin Itt came in the room, talking in his little gibberish voice.

"Here you are Cousin Itt dear, a new scarf." Morticia said, wrapping the scarf around Cousin Itt. Cousin Itt spoke in his gibberish voice happily indicating that he liked his scarf, and he thanked Morticia for the scarf.

"You're welcome dear." Morticia said. "Enjoy." Cousin Itt talked gibberish saying he would enjoy it as he walked off to join grandpa and mama in the dungeon. Morticia sighed a sad sigh which made Gomez turn his attention to his wife.

"What's bothering you Tish?" Gomez asked.

"We've made such wonderful new friends, and it'll be hard to leave them." Morticia asked, Gomez knew how his wife felt, he felt the exact same way.

"Indeed it will." Gomez said, smoking his cigar and puffing smoke from his mouth.

"Do you think we'll ever see these people again?" Morticia asked.

"I don't know Cara Mia." Gomez said. "But let me tell you, I certainly hope so."

"I do too." Morticia said sadly resting her cheek in her hand. Gomez rubbed soothing circles around around his wife's back. He'd surely miss their new friends too and it would be very hard to leave them. Their eyes turned to Eddie and Wednesday walking and talking.

"I'm going to miss you when we leave Eddie." Wednesday said.

"I'll miss you too, but, we can always call each other..." Eddie said.

"But it won't be the same as playing with each other in person." Wednesday said sadly.

"I know." Eddie said. Wednesday hugged Eddie. She really liked Eddie and was excited to make a new friend. She hated having to leave her new friend and it would be hard to stay in touch since Eddie lives in Utah and Wednesday and her family lived in New Jersey. They could send each other letters right?

"Wednesday, please go finish packing your things, we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning." Morticia said.

"Yes, mother." Wednesday said before going upstairs to pack her things. Wednesday packed up her Marie Antionette doll, her miniature guillotine, her shoes and dresses, and cactus brush. She zipped up her suitcase and placed it beside her bed for tomorrow morning.

"Wednesday?" Eddie asked.

"Oh, hello Eddie!" Wednesday said.

"Did you want to ask our parents if we could have a last hoorah before you leave?" Eddie asked.

"Oh goodie! I hope they say yes!" Wednesday exclaimed.

"Me too!" Eddie exclaimed as Wednesday and Eddie ran downstairs.

"Eddie Munster you know better than to run in the house!" Lily exclaimed.

"You too Wednesday." Morticia said.

"We're sorry...we were just excited because we wanted to know if we could have one last....hoorah before we all leave tomorrow." Wednesday explained. Morticia and lily thought for a second.

"I don't see why not." Lily said. "But why's do you think Morticia?"

"I suppose that will be fine, as long as it's alright with Gomez."

"I say it's alright. What wrong with a little fun?" Gomez asked.

"It's alright with me! Why don't we all have one last hoorah together!" Herman exclaimed.

"That's a wonderful ides Uncle Herman!" Marilyn exclaimed.

"Oh goodie!" Wednesday exclaimed.

"Yeah!" Eddie exclaimed.

"But where will we go?" Marilyn asked.

"I don't know dear, maybe somewhere pleasant, like by the cemetery pond or something." Lily answered.

"That is pleasant, but we've already been there who knows how many times?" Marilyn asked.

"Oh, you're right, so how about we go to the beach for a swim!" Lily exclaimed.

"That sounds like a fine idea!" Morticia exclaimed.

"Than it's settled, we'll all go to the beach!" Lily exclaimed clapping her hands together.

The Addams' and Munsters packed their swimwear and Lurch packed the Addams family bat mitten equipment for games. He put it in the trunk of the car and and started the car. The Addams and Munsters drove all the way to the beach which wasn't very far but far enough they drove for at least an hour.

Once they arrived at the beach everyone set up their beach umbrellas and laid down their beach towels as Lurch set up the bat mitten net.

"Thank you Lurch." Morticia said. Lurch bowed as a your welcome and went to make lunch.

"Alright, while we wait for lunch why don't be play bat mitten!" Herman suggested. "It'll be team Munster vs team Addams!"

"Herman what a brilliant idea!" Lily exclaimed,

Everybody went to their side of the net and began to play. Morticia served the birdy and Lily served the birdy back. Little Wednesday caught served the birdy and then Eddie served it but no one caught it on the Addams side.

"On point for team Munster!" Herman exclaimed.

"Alright Querida, we shall redeem ourselves!" Gomez exclaimed.

"Ready Gomez?" Morticia asked ready to toss the birdy. Morticia tossed the birdy and Eddie almost caught it but landed on the sand instead.

"Ten points for Addams." Lurch said.

After a long day at the beach and competitive but fun game of bat mitten the Addams' and Munsters got back into their cars and went back to the house. They unpacked their beach things, and showered and sat in the living room and talked for a while.

"Am I hearing this right? You got lifted up in the air by a...hook?" Morticia asked.

"Oh yes, Herman and grandpa were working on Eddie's birthday present, and they'd put barbed wire and sandbags around the garage which I thought was very childish of them. I cut the barbed wire and climbed the sandbags, and started banging on the door to get in, and when I did, an alarm sounded and I was suddenly lifted up into the air! And demanded that Herman got me down but he and grandpa apparently would've rather had flipped a coin!" Lily exclaimed.

"Oh my! Your house is more chaotic than ours!" Morticia exclaimed. "But the chaos is what we love."

"We love our chaos too, but sometimes grandpa and Herman's messes are aggravating for a girl to clean up!" Lily exclaimed.

"Now, Lily, you know I try my best!" Herman exclaimed.

"I know you big galoufa." Lily said.

"And I am determined to not give up on my lab work! It's my livelihood!" Grandpa exclaimed. Everyone laughed and laughed except grandpa who was offended that everyone in the house didn't understand his livelihood the way he did, but after a while he began to laugh too.

The next day the Addams family packed up their things and began to put everything in their car. The Munsters were sad to see them go.

"Morticia, it was very nice to meet you." Lily said.

"It was a pleasure to meet you too." Morticia said. The two girls hugged. Marilyn hugged her next.

Eddie and Wednesday walked out holding g each other's hands. Wednesday, Eddie, and Pugsley shared a group hug. Herman and Gomez shook hands. Grandpa kissed mama's hand and was about to suck her blood, when-

"Grandpa!" Lily exclaimed. "No!"

"Oh it's alright, turning into a vampire could be interesting!" Mama exclaimed.

"Dear mama, always looking on the wild side." Morticia exclaimed as Uncle fester shook grandpa and Herman's hand.

"Say, if you ever want to see mama again, you can always call us." Uncle Fester winked handing grandpa a slip of paper with their house phone number on it.

"Hmm, perhaps I'll keep that in mind." Grandpa said winking.

Everyone hopped in the Addams car and waved goodbye to the Munsters with heavy hearts. Lurch started the car and the sounded it's signature *boom!* and they were off to the airport. They boarded the airplane that would take them back to their beloved home in New Jersey. Once they landed they got their car out of the cargo hold and drove back home.

Once they got back home Lurch parked the car in the usual parking spot in front of the house, and Gomez helped Morticia out of the car. Wednesday and Pugsley climbed out along with Uncle Fester and Cousin Itt and Lurch who climbed out last.

"I'll miss those guys, but it's wonderful to be home." Gomez said draping an arm around Morticia as they walked toward the door.

"Indeed, darling." Morticia agreed. "It's wonderful to be home again.
