Next… is the class I have with Cassian Hall.
I just had a little meeting with Danielle at a secluded corner of the school and was now rushing back to the door of my next class.
My steps couldn't help but slow as I repeatedly calmed myself for the encounter that would soon happen.
Pushing open the oakwood doors, I glanced briefly at the green-haired prince who was chuckling carelessly with his friends across the classroom. Furrowing my eyebrows, I retracted my gaze and walked to my seat in silence.
After receiving updated information from Danielle, I knew that Cassian Hall had informed his friends that he would be confessing during lunchtime, the only time that he could meet Asura during school hours.
I wasn't surprised by his decision, but I was irked by the way the prince laughed so carefreely. It was as if he either didn't care about the results of his confession, or he was just so confident in his charms that he felt like he didn't need to worry.
There are still a couple periods before lunch, so… I guess I'll observe him first?
I'll go confront him during lunch. That way, if there are some unexpected incidents, I'll have enough time to solve them before classes start and prevent incurring suspicion.
Although I'll be missing some time to be with Asura, doing this is for the long-term good! My vision can't be too narrow.
Biting my lip, I straightened my back as the professor for the class entered the room and began roll call.
I didn't particularly care for grades, but as Asura's most prized lackey, I couldn't exactly be the worst student in the school, right? That would be shameful.
…
Ding! Ding! Ding!
With the melodious chimes signaling the end of class, I immediately directed my eyes towards Cassian Hall, carefully scrutinizing his movements.
But he was too far away, so I couldn't hear the contents of what he was speaking about to his friends. Damn it!
I could only helplessly watch as the group left the classroom, with their destination unknown.
Hesitating, I pondered over my options.
Should I follow them? What if they weren't going to their classes? What if they were cooking up some nefarious scheme?
… But what about accompanying Asura to her classroom?
My heart felt torn between the two options. If I didn't go walk Asura to her next class, would someone else take my place? There would undoubtedly be countless people who wanted to walk with her…
But what if Cassian Hall did something terrible when I wasn't paying attention?
Previously, Danielle's underlings had always sent me little updates due to them being in the same class as the prince, but Danielle just told me last period that they could no longer send me information on Cassian for the rest of the day!
She had scolded me once again, saying how I'm relying on others too much and isn't putting enough effort…
I'll need to conduct my own research from now on.
Gritting my teeth, I made my decision. Sorry, Asura.
I must follow Cassian Hall and ensure he's going to his classes instead of lurking somewhere else!
With that, I stood up and marched out the door, accidentally ignoring the calls and attempts of conversation that the other students made towards me.
