Chapter 59 - The Creature’s True Identity

With my mocking grin growing wider, I reluctantly retracted my powers, allowing the green-haired man's eyes to finally regain their lucidity.

If I tortured him any longer, his mental state would be noticeably and irrevocably injured, and that would cause too many problems that I didn't have the capability of solving right now.

"Stay away from Asura Claremont from noon. Don't even think about her. Or else..." Patting Cassian Hall's shoulder, I whispered in his ear.

"B-But I d-didn't d—"

I patted his shoulder again, this time with more force.

I wasn't in the mood to hear his petty excuses.

The prince shivered and immediately nodded, his knees trembling with fear.

"Alright." My violet eyes glowed once more as I continued whispering gently, "This conversation never happened. You don't remember how you got here after you and your sister parted ways in front of the school. You will forget everything, but your mind will subconsciously fear Asura. To you, her existence is scary yet godly, and it embarrasses you to even think about her name with your filthy mind."

"Y-Y-Yes…" With his dark green fringe covering his eyes, Cassian Hall's expression couldn't be seen clearly as he robotically walked away.

But even though his back was already turned, I didn't relax. My nerves were taut, looking for any sign of resistance or any spies around the area.

What I had done today… was just too dangerous. I can't afford to rest too easily. What if someone jumped out of nowhere when I wasn't paying attention?

What if Cassian Hall was not actually charmed? There's no guarantee that my powers worked here, since this place is not Marude.

It might've been impulsive of me to use my powers in such an uncertain situation, but even though logic told me that I should pause and think, another part of me, a strange and overpowering feeling gave me the motivation and determination to continue on.

And after all was said and done, I not only did not feel remorse in the slightest, I was even relieved that I had gotten rid of Cassian Hall before the situation could become more severe.

Just as I was thinking this, I suddenly heard the rustling of leaves coming from the trees behind me.

With my senses pushed to the limit, I was able to perceive that the creature who emitted the noise was humanoid.

Humanoid.

I calmed my nerves and blinked, ready to face the opponent head on using the powers of my witchcraft.

Turning around, I suddenly froze upon witnessing a scene that I had never expected, even in my wildest dreams.

"Miss Asura?"
