A few hours later…
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Just what is Cassian Hall thinking? I can't seem to understand his line of thought! It's already lunch, yet his expression is as carefree as always, and he doesn't look like someone that's about to confess to the love of his life at all!
I knew it.
This Cassian Hall… he must be just playing around with Asura! All the more reason that I should prevent them from meeting!
I can't allow someone like him to get even 2 meters from Asura.
Gritting my teeth, I calmly walked over to the prince.
The bell signaling lunchtime has already rung, so I boldly presented him with my presence. This would be the first time I approached Cassian Hall since his arrival at The Golden Rose Academy.
"Brother, nice seeing you here!" I smiled gently, just as an obedient younger sister would.
Cassian Hall had his back facing me, so I had the pleasure of watching the young man jump up in fright and scurrying away from me like a mouse who saw a hungry cat.
"… Lancera?" Taking a second to regain his composure, the green-haired man stepped towards me in slight puzzlement.
I nodded. "It is I, Big Brother."
"Is that so? Well, what do you want?" Even though Cassian Hall and I haven't met in over half-a-decade, he sounded so calm and natural while asking. However, instead of a sibling relationship, it was almost like he was speaking to a subordinate—though I suppose that was just how he is with everyone.
"I wish to speak privately with you for a moment." I bowed my head subserviently, my violet eyes gazing down at my worn Marude-styled black boots.
Cassian Hall hesitated before replying nonchalantly, "Alright. But only just a moment."
…
Leading Cassian Hall along the side of the school, I repeatedly examined my surroundings, utilizing my senses to the best of my abilities to ensure that we weren't being followed.
Eventually, after circling around the school borders, we arrived at a small clearing.
The place was surrounded by overgrown vegetation, with tall, looming trees whose leaves blocked out most of the sunlight from shining in. However, this was still on school property, with the white silica walls of the school building in full view—perhaps this is why Cassian Hall had not felt any risk in following me.
"Lancera." The man's deep voice sounded behind me. "That's enough. What did you want to talk to me about?"
Looks like he finally ran out of patience.
Stopping, I couldn't help but raise the corners of my lips as I turned to face the Marudian prince's violet eyes, which were so similar to my own.
