Today. It's today.
Laying in the comfort of my bed, I felt nothing but the pins and needles that had overtaken my mind.
I haven't been able to sleep well for the past few days—especially last night—and I could physically feel the sagging bags beneath my eyes whenever I blinked.
A few weeks have passed, and Asura still has not brought up the topic of Cassian, which is now becoming increasingly suspicious.
Although I was now certain that they didn't have any classes together, she should've still heard something about him!
Especially since… rumor has it that he is about to confess to her! There's no way that Asura's fandom doesn't know since they were the ones I heard about this from!
"Hey, Lancera, I'll be leaving now~"
Startled, I immediately sat up and swept my gaze across the dorm, seeing Asura, fully dressed, standing by the door.
"Ah…" Damn it!
Resisting the urge to slap my forehead in front of her, I quickly pushed away the fair, silky blankets provided by the school and got out of bed. Turning to her, I said in a slightly hoarse yet gentle voice, "I'll go with you. Asuu, wait two minutes."
"Hmm? Ah-Oh… Ok, sure. There's another 60 minutes before class starts, so we should have enough time. But still… it's better to early than late." Looking away, she pouted slightly, her lips glossed in a natural shade of pink.
"Yeah…" I smiled weakly.
Damn it!
I don't want to go to school today…
Upon arriving in the small yet glamorous bathroom of the dorm, I closed the door behind me, before sighing and grabbing my dark hair in annoyance.
Silently calculating the numbers in my head, I waited until there was a minute left before finally getting up and trudging to the sink.
…
Patting my skirt in front of the full-length mirror by my bedside, I put on a grim smile. "Asu, let's go eat!"
I can't believe I'm using my charm magic for hiding dark eye circles! How wasteful! But to prevent Asura from noticing my abnormality, I can only do so.
Turning, I grabbed her arm and rushed out the door.
I can't allow myself to mess up today! I can't! As I walked down the halls with my arm intertwined with Asura's, I tightened my grip, my mind repeating the words, 'You can't mess up today, Lancera Delacroix! If you do, then you'd be a shame to the witches!'
Well, I already AM a failure to the witches. After all, I, the charmer, actually fell in love with the one I wanted to charm!
How absurd is that?!
Indeed. Over the past few weeks, I had grown to accept this concept.
