The young woman ran away without having to be told twice. She felt apologetic for bringing them her troubles but she wanted to get back to the safety of her home and inform her family of what happened to her. Once she returned to the town where there would be guards and she'll send them back to help Alexander and the woman he was with.
"I don't like being called a bitch. Such a disrespectful word that your mother should have taught you not to use. Now I am going to kill you for it. Alexander, the sword you requested," she made one magically appear and fall right beside him. She wanted to stand back and watch Alexander fistfight them but now they made her angry.
"W-What is this?" Hayden backed away seeing the sword come out of nowhere. "Witch? Y-You're a witch!" He concluded it was the only reasonable explanation. He pointed a shaky finger at Alexander and asked, "How could you be walking around with a witch? You are supposed to kill people like her."
"I am not a witch but a Goddess you imbecile. When I am done with you, I will make sure you are not able to reincarnate. The world does not need your stupidity to be here after I kill you. Alexander, kill them," she ordered him through the bracelet on his hand.
"With pleasure," he took up his new weapon gifted to him by the goddess himself. His first target would be Hayden.
Fear overcame Hayden's men who weren't expecting to be fighting Alexander and some woman who was not human. The money they would get from their client to bring a woman would not be worth this fight. Without informing their boss, the four of them gave each other a look and then ran away.
"I don't think so," Artemis grinned, clenching her fists to make the men stop in her tracks. The last thing she needed was for them to get away and tell anyone about her and Alexander. Plus, they were shady men who didn't deserve to live after trying to sell the young woman. Who knows how many other women they might have tried to kidnap in the past or the other bad things they did? "No witness should remain," she smiled, enjoying the fear radiating from the men.
Shaken to his core, Hayden was unable to move when he heard the screams of his men as they were probably dragged back to him. He was too scared to look around with a goddess in front of him. He deeply regretted insulting her.
"Sorry Alexander, I'll have to leave you out of this fight. It's been so long since I had this much fun." Artemis made the sword she gifted him disappear into thin air since she was going to deal with the humans herself.
Alexander stepped back to watch Artemis. There wasn't much he could do when she was pissed off and the bracelets made him listen to her commands or he would die. He had given Hayden and a few of his men a second chance at freedom to change their lives but they just went back to their old ways.
"If you're a goddess, you can't hurt humans. That much I know," Hayden found confidence in remembering Gods were said to be unable to hurt a human which made it easy for humans to fight against them. She could do all of these things like controlling his men but in the end, she couldn't end their lives. Who they really needed to watch out for Alexander.
"I keep telling you humans that law does not apply to me. I'm old school when it comes to Gods." She had to inform Alexander of this when he thought she wouldn't be able to kill him and now this man thought the same. When will humans learn to stop thinking she was like her peers?
"Lies. Everyone knows that history has said Gods cannot hurt humans. The only cases of a God hurting humans is said to happen a long, long time ago."
"Why do you know all of this?" Alexander didn't see why a thief would be well informed about something concerning Gods. It wasn't like Hayden could earn any money from knowing this.
"I travel around a lot to do my business and they are people who love to talk about all kinds of things in secret. I bet they'll love hearing that the great Alexander Mclane is waltzing around with a God. Is the king the same way? How hypocritical after you point swords at anyone who dares mention those that are not humans," Hayden spat his spit at Alexander feeling disgusted with the general. He found a little courage within himself to do this.
Hayden and Alexander were common enemies as one was a palace guard and the other a thief but they were both human and needed to look out for their own kind. That was what their king kept shoving down his people's throats day by day. If Hayden made it out of this alive he planned to let everyone know how phony the king and Alexander were.
"I don't appreciate the way you are talking to one of my people. Only I can tell him what I think of him and the king. I am going to kill you first to show how wrong you were about me," Artemis kept a hold of his men who were crying and still trying to get away b.
"People like you should go back to the hell you came from." For the first time since learning the woman was a goddess, Hayden took a step back not to run away as it was pointless but to put some distance between him and her.
"Hell?" Artemis chuckled, amused by his ignorance. "Why would a God be from the underworld? I came from a paradise in the sky. Should I show all of what type of people are in this hell you speak of? Accept my gift and burn."
