Park Hyun-sung wakes up from a loud ring from his phone. A little dazed from waking up unusually early, he picks up the phone.
"Hello?" He asks.
"Hi it's me, Ahn Sang-woo." Says the caller
"Oh hi!" Hyun-sung said in surprise. "What up?"
"The portal is done!" Exclaimed Sang-woo. "We just need to test it now."
"Really?" Hyun-sung cries in astonishment. "I thought it would be done years later!" Hyung-sung couldn't wait to try it out. He quickly looks at the time. 12:00 pm. I then look at the calendar. It was 12 in July, 2025. So he asks, "Anyways, when can I go?"
"Captain says to arrive at 2:30 afternoon sharp." Sang-woo remarks. "So you should start getting ready now."
"Ok I'll be there in a few minutes." Ensured Hyun-sung. "Bye".
Hanging up the phone, Hyun-sung dashes into the bathroom, brushed his teeth, and took a quick shower. He got dressed and head out the door with his keycard for the testing facility a few blocks away. He walks there excited to see how the portal looks. When he got there, he saw the scientists standing by a huge circular object, attached with multitudes of wires, all tangle around the place. And there, sitting, were the other test subjects one girl, and two boys. You see, the test subjects were either army experienced, major brain intelligence, or highly skilled in martial arts.
"Hello!" I shouted from a distance, as I started to head in the facility, accompanied by Ahn Sang-woo, Chief of the Department of Future Technology.
"Great to finally meet you face to face mister Park." Said Sang wok with a smile.
"You to mister Ahn." Hyun-sung smiles back, shaking his hand.
I took a seat next to the girl. Who stared at me expressionless. I stare back at her, confused if I've seen her before.
I stopped the staring contest as soon as Sang-woo announced that the portal will be functioning in a few minutes, and that we should introduce ourselves.
One of the boys went first. "My name is Choi Hyun-wook, and I work for the Marine Corps in America. I wish you guys good luck.
The girl when next. "My name is Kim Min-song, I work for the Navy Seals also in America. I wish you men good luck.
Then the other boy went. "Hello. My name is "Kang Sung-joon. I have a extremely intelligent brain, and work for the Department of Future Technology. I wish you people good luck.
Then it was Hyun-sung's turn. "My name is Park Hyun-sung. I am a heavily trained martial artist, and am president of the Martial Arts facility. Wish you luck.
Every one stared at me as if I was a mafia trying to threaten them for money. I just smiled awkwardly, as they look back at the huge portal. The portal suddenly shook as it activated. "Everyone! Grab your equipment and head in the portal!" Bellowed Sang-woo.
Everyone sprinted to a desk with weapons, portable chargers, usb, HDMI, and more. I gripped a katana, and hung it on my back, with a bow and arrow, and some throwing knives. I see Sung-joon stuffing loads of portable chargers with a few usb and two HDMI, into a bag, with a high class laptop. I then see Hyun-wool and Min-song packing loaded of ammunition, and a M4A1, a Glock, and some gadgets. I'm the only one with medieval timed weapons.
Everyone gathers into the portal's entrance, and one of the workers pulls a switch, and the portal starts shaking violently.
"What's happening!?" Min-song screams.
Suddenly the portal makes a force field, preventing anyone to come in the portal or out. Sparks flying everywhere, then I hear the AI. "TEST FAILURE TEST FAILURE."
