Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Dreams that haunt our misses

"I miss you..." his heart called out as the lonely pine trees greeted him. How long has it been yet these feelings never seem to fade and this year he is forcing to wipe it off, pushing himself to visit every nook and corner that he could not bring himself to earlier. He stopped at the familiar corner that they used to dropped down watching the night sky together with him. As he sat under the cold winter sky he recall a story a good friend told him back then.

"Kay...let me share with you my formulae of how to get through it, I understand the pain of loosing someone it's really a tragic feeling that you really can't express it at times. I can't even begin to tell the story of my fiancé and I. We knew each other at the age of 14. We were good friends that turned lovers and we were engaged... but the year when we were supposed to get married, we met an accident... when I woke up no one could tell me the truth, no one could bring themselves to and everyone tried to play around with my memory loss. I was in a coma for almost 2 months with problems remembering exactly what happen but in my heart I knew something was really missing... when I sleep at night I would sometimes wake up crying, it was as though my soul unconsciously knows he is gone but I was lost in my memory trying to figure things out, i had many pictures of him ....when I finally was told, I forced myself to visit the places we used to go and I would sit there for hours thinking trying to recollect back everything...when i finally did i was devastated beyond imagination...but accepting the reality and coping with the loss until I can find the courage to move was my focus. It took me years but I made it a point to push myself...to feel every possible pain, cry every possible tears, shout my heart out ....and I am doing better now. Sometimes I wish the accident took me together with him ....and i often question why not but i learn to accept every event happen for a reason. See this ring? Well I've taken it that I'm married to him ...my parents think I am crazy but that's my choice. When he was alive, i always felt this relationship was unique that i was somehow tasked to watch over him, looking after him on school days that he studied well, that he didn't mix with the wrong crowd, graduated well ...until I fell into a deep sleep that i wasn't able to play that role anymore and he was not by my side for me to watch over him anymore. I still feel him close to me sometimes and my choice is to wait till we see each other again in the next life.

Kay was lost in his thoughts, just feeling extremely freezing cold out here with the ice cold snow beneath him, it's been so long.....this has got to stop. He close his eyes as he feels the tears filling up.

He could hear the familiar voice of his royal body guard ..."Don't go.." and next flash, he could see how his royal body guard tried to safe him and the same scene kept replaying that he would always see Yi Wen holding him in his arm, leaning on him, letting him enjoy his final hours at the place he likes to go, the little forest with wild flowers scent and the calm stream that flows, they stayed quietly until Yi Wen watch him safely parting from this world, it was like a sign that says see you again in the next life, wait for me.

Both of them had had reoccurring dreams a such of those ancient times ever since they parted... their misses had turned into dreams that haunted them in ways they did not know why or how. At times it would be scenes and places they did not know, at times it was their future dimension and yet all those that fall back to one point - there was a connection deeper than meet the eyes for them.

As the tide and time took to where they stood and heaven granted their wish to cast in a story that tells the world of their deep seeded love, it came with an agreement.

"Yan Lan I wish that with this story, we will spring board out to the world... I am contented with how we could show our story to everyone yet I know when the parting time comes where we return the other side of our deal, we promise that we will honour it. I do not wish to ask for another wish as we should be contented that we were given a chance to let the world see what we have. I don't want either of us to loose each other again in this timeline, contented that we were given the opportunity that we asked for and we should fulfil ours." Kay clasps both of his hands together and quietly wish in his heart "please protect us, I pray we will continue to soar as we stay true to our path as the chance was granted to us, thank you. I do really want to be with him in this world, let him stay safe this time" and as the shooting star fall pass, he turn to Yan Lan who was quietly making his wish as well

The whirl wind started to pound their doors as soon as the movie took off - it was a magical dream came true. While they continue to cherish this, they knew the fairy tale timeline will come to an end, that was the agreement. And soon it was true the ordeal that was put forth to Kay it was undauntingly the start of the predicament.

"It's time, you need to let me go before you get dragged in... our story ended then, we have to hold to it," he said unwillingly. He was never willing to let it go, never but it was a deal after all that was given to them.

"No, I don't want to, let us fight for it, I'm willing to"

"Yan Lan... no...it will be worse I can feel it, it's starting, it will only get worst if we fight it, I don't want any of us to loose each other in whatever means ... even if we can't be together I can still see you, see that you are safe living your life safely until our next stop that was what we agreed, Yan Lan I am contented, we've been given the chance to live through as couple in the movie, I truly am"

"We owe it to those whom believe in us but we also don't want them to be hurt by the politics in the industry hence we must learn to see beyond the situation, sometimes the old saying that goes the truth will prevail do make a lot of sense for our daily adaptation."

Kay woke up from a late morning sleep after crashing in the bed from his night ski ordeal. It was a lazy morning. Rolling off from the bed he checked his ankle it is much better. He freshened up and ordered in room service before heading out to the slopes again.

It was already late afternoon before he could get up to where he wanted to. The slopes have been filled with more people at this hour.

It reminds him so much of the past when he sees couples skiing together. Today he brought his small bag pack along. There was a spot he found yesterday that plateau out with majestic pine trees gathering - another postcard view. He found the little cafe they used to hang out for a short break. He adjusted his bag and strap it on as he put on his ski. The feeling of just running through the wind is awesome. It's not long before he reach the secluded spot that plateau out to an opening that had a great view of pine trees lining up.

Once there, he removed his skis and sat down on the cold ice patch below. His winter ski clothes kept him warm. He took out his camera and sketch book again as he slowly outline what he is seeing in front. Just for a few minutes and as usual snapping a few photos. Before the cold gets to him he dropped everything onto his bag pack and re-strapped it again as he skied back to the little skiers cafe at the other side of the tracks. Reaching the cafe he safely removed his ski and hung them on the designated rack. The smell of coffee and crisp pastry brought him much joy.

As he sat next by window pane, the same spot they used to sit every year... his thoughts ran back to the past.

As more parties started sowing discord between them, they knew the signs were clearly showing....their time as how they knew then is up. Their time together was gifted through the setting of the movie, as he sat there reminiscing the conversation they had and the memories that folded through this chapter.

They were hurting internally with all that is happening with parties sowing discord and misunderstanding which tested and tried their trust for one another. And because it starts to hurt the people they love and those that supports them, they had no choice but to keep their distant and protect them with ways they can only think.

The summer after was quiet comparative to the previous. They could not bring themselves to face each other while the world waited to see and to hear from them. So much had happen between that it hurts to even talk about it. While anticipation of another cropping issue may surface on the net, Kay only had 1 wish while everyone pleaded for their reappearance. "Seal my heart please and protect him, I know a lot of expectations are out there to see us but this is probably the best outcome for now" he look out at the window as he prayed.

The misses aggravated Yan Lan immensely just as it cuts Kay to the point he was finding Yan Lan in his dream, lost in the past. One night after months of not seeing each other Kay fell again into another dream that haunted him.

In that space of time, he saw Yan Lan and himself in an ancient setting again where they were lovingly accompanying each other walking along a path within what seem like an ancient palace setting compound, but here everything seem magical - there were lovely butterflies that sparkles hovering above little flowers that glowed along the path that they were walking. There were no gender difference in this place that they were in, they were in pure white outer clothes and their face filled with peace and vibrancy. They were walking hand in hand, pretty much like a married couple deeply in love. Again the familiar character in the dream

"Zhen Yuan, come..."

Yi Wen brought him to a tree filled with plum blossom flowers that bloomed beautifully on the trunk of the tree which Yi Wen engraved both their names on it with a heart shape in between.

"Wow! Yi Wen. This is ...I'm ....uh..thank you" Zhen Yuen was touched by Yi Wen's show of affection which caught him by surprise. Yi Wen not being able to contain his feelings looking at Zhen Yuen drew him in for a passionate kiss. "Yi Wen! We are in the middle of the field...." Zhen Yuan had to manage Yi Wen's bold move that sweeps him off usually.
