Chapter 13 - Chapter 12 - Unexpected Trouble...

After waking up, I hurry to eat my breakfast and then teleported back to the town. I walked to the school and made my way toward the receptionist. She smiles as I come near.

"Ah, good morning Sho. I have good news for you! You have passed the 2nd day of tests. All you have left is the group battle that will take place this afternoon. Only 1,000 students are allowed to enter the school. Therefore, you have to win five times to make it into the school. Good luck! Please return at noon, too."

I see. Currently, 5,000 students made it to the final stage, but only 1,000 students are allowed to enter the school. Plus, this next test requires people to fight other people. Though, getting five kills might not be that hard, especially if you look for the weakness targets first. I'm not sure the rules of the battle, but I'll probably learn when I return at noon.

I decided to use the rest of my time to train and rest. There are five hours left until noon, so I can split the time for training and relaxing. I begin to walk away from the school when I sense an evil intent.

I look around to see if I can find where it was coming from, but I didn't see anything. Weird... I continue to walk and teleport back home...

Time flew while I trained, roughly two and a half hours. I'll be using the rest of the time to rest... or that was what I planned; however, I discovered something.

"Where is my school card?"

I realized that the school card that I was given on the first day was missing. Did I misplace it? No, I only took it out to show the receptionist. That means only one thing. Someone stoled it.

After coming with this result, I remembered what happened earlier this morning. There was that evil intent that was towards me. What if that intent stoled my card? I didn't see anyone who would have been that type of person, but maybe there a pro? Nevertheless, this isn't good.

I teleport myself back to the town in search of my card. Sadly, I don't think any of my skills will help me find it any quicker. Maybe I should have gotten the [search] ability or something...

Wait, I do have [Spell Engineering]. Maybe I can make a spell to do it? Spells have four essential elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind. I would have to mix the magic to get other effects. Sadly, I can't recall any mixing that would get... Wait! I could use wind magic!

Yes, I have a plan. I'll use wind magic to spread a weak wind everywhere around me. With only this, It should allow me to see if there are people or monsters around without disturbing them. Sadly, I can't think of anything else, but it should allow me to inspect each person, even if they are hiding.

I discovered a cool effect I can use with my barrier magic. I can change the type of barrier I deploy. For instance, I can create a sound-proof barrier or an invisible barrier. This means I can become invisible!

I plan to surround myself in an invisible barrier, fly around, and search each person to see if they have my card or disturbing others. I activated both my fly and barrier magic. Then, I spread wind magic, as I stated before. I guess I'm like a radar now...

I flew around for 30 minutes, but I had no luck finding the perpetrator. If I don't get this card back, I'll be automatically disqualified. I spend another 30 minutes searching for them, but again, with no luck. I was about to accept my disqualification when I overheard something.

"Ha! The final test is now going to be easy! That makes a total of what? About 100 contenders out of the running?"

"Yeah! We should have a higher advantage. We even got one that was 'powerful,' but I think everyone was talking bullcrap since he didn't realize we took his card!"

There they are! Oh, I understand why they stoled mine too. Still, only steeling 100 out of 5,000 doesn't seem that much, maybe if they were moderately strong warriors.

In summary, they stoled my card and others to get through the final test. It's kind of a smart decision but also a non-honorable one too. I didn't care about the others, but stealing mine is a huge mistake.

I land on the ground near them. Before deactivating my barrier, I decided to cast my nullification skill on both of the guys. Then, I disabled my flight skill and switched my barrier into a physical one instead of an invisible one. Then, I shouted at them.

"So it was you two who stole my card! I have to say that you two have guts."

"Shit! He found us. That's impossible!"

"It should be! Hurry, deploy your speed skill. We can still run!"

"I-I can't! None of my skills are working!"

"Huh?! Shit! We'll have to fight our way out then."

I watch as the two hurry to figure out a plan. After they decided to fight, I switch to a fighting stance. They both came running at me, but I moved I had more movement speed and faster reflexes.

I defeated them both quickly, leaving them unconscious. Wow, they are fragile. They must only specialize in stealing and hiding presences. After getting back my card, I heard some clapping from behind me.

"Haha! Good job!"

"Huh?"

I turn myself around and ready myself for another fight. The one clapping was a female who looked to be the same age as me. She has red hair and blue eyes.

"I was following those two delinquents for a while. I heard some of my friends' cards were missing, so I decided to take action. I was waiting for them to enter a less populated place, but when they did, you arrived out of nowhere. I have to say; you did a fine job on those two too."

She smiles as she walks up past me and to the two on the ground.

"It seems you don't care that much about these guys nor the other cards, so I'll take them from you. Hehe... Maybe we'll see each other on the battlefield."

She smiles at me and then jumps up to a building like a ninja. Her movements are fast and slick. She must have a lot of points in movement speed and agility.

Then I realized something.

"Shit! It's almost noon! I got to hurry."

Though I can get there instantly, it would be trouble to have others see that. I decided that and started to run toward the school.
