After taking my seat, the announcer resumes calling out new names. The rest of the battles were duos in five ongoing separate fights. Once one pair finished, a new came was called. Each match was also timed. If a battle escalated for 30 minutes, the battle was called off and stated as a stalemate. This continued for another hour. Afterward, the announcer begins speaking something new.
"Attention, everyone! I received some new instructions for the final battles. Instead of always keeping five battles on the battlefield, we will have only one fight at a time. Thankfully, there are only a couple of fights left, so this shouldn't take more than an hour unless stalemates occur. Let's begin!"
Hmm... It's a bit strange to change the setup suddenly, but it still the same nonetheless. I just hope that I'm only getting one target unless four like my previous battle.
"Without further ado! Let's get the first battle up and running. The first battle is the fight between Sho and Haya! Can both these contenders move to the center!"
Hmm... So I'm going to be fighting the first fight with this new system. Cool, I guess? It doesn't matter that much, but hey, maybe I'll get an easy match... I got up and moved over to the center of the battlefield. As I move closer to the center, I see a familiar face.
"Haha! So your Sho. I would say nice to meet ya again, but we're currently enemies."
The female, Haya, smiles from on the other side of the field. She is the ninja from earlier this morning. Well, at least I can get test my skill on someone who at least knows what they're doing. As we get near each other, stopping about 5 meters away from each other, the announcer returns and starts the match.
"Let's begin this battle. Get ready... And fight!"
Once the announcer begins the fight, Haya disappears. The audience all go 'ahh' and 'ooh' at her disappearance. I look around, hoping to find her with my eyes alone. No luck... Darn, guess this isn't going to be easy.
I decided to spread wind magic like I did to find the delinquents. This allowed me to see her immediately. She isn't using an invisible skill, but rather is moving faster than the naked eye can process. Hmm... This is kind of problematic. Oh, wait. I'm an idiot! I should of disable her skills at the start. Shit!
For me to use my nullification skill, I need clear sight of the target. Even if I do have a view, it only prevents new spells from being activated, not already activated skills.
Well, it's not like this is an impossible fight. By the looks of it, she isn't planning to attack me. She had plenty of opportunities to do this, but she is continuing to run around me in a circle. I bet she is planning to get a stalemate. I'm not sure why she would. Maybe she doesn't think she can win. That or she just wants a different opponent.
This doesn't matter, since there are plenty of ways to win this battle. I mean, Haya shouldn't be as severe as a WD beast. Judging by her speed, I have more points in my speed than her. Thus, I should be able to run at her and fight her.
I could also just use one of my other skills, Slow Motion. This skill allows me to slow-down time. I could just run at her, but this skill should let me charge at her with less focus. I activated the skill.
Once I do, everyone around me starts slowing down. If I compare the speeds with the skill activated, then everything is moving slower than a sloth. I look over to Haya to see her moving at a slow walking pace. I run at full speed to her, instantly appearing in front of her and deactivate the skill. I hold my hand out as I do and grab Haya's neck.
Haya's body jolts to a sudden stop, sending the force through my hand. Since my body is more durable with my maxed out strength, I didn't feel anything. After taking hold of her throat, I pick her up and throw her into the wall. My speed caught her off guard since she was still processing me suddenly grabbing her.
However, Haya was able to get hold of the situation fairly quickly. Before slamming into the wall, she catches herself and lands on the ground. She is somewhat impressive. Well, she is a ninja, or I think so, after all. After landing, Haya begins speaking.
"Heh. I don't know how you did that, but impressive. No one has ever laid hands on me, even without going at that speed. You must be pretty talented. Hmm... I was planning to get a statement, but I don't think that's going to be happening anytime soon."
Haya changes attitude after speaking. She charges at me at a fast pace. I cast nullification of her to seal her skills and begin to prepare myself. As she nears, she throws a punch my way; however, something is weird. There seem to be ten punches coming my way.
I step away instantly and try to process what happened. I throw up a barrier just to be on the safe side.
"Ha! Did you like that? Skills and magic isn't everything. I had a suspicion that you could seal skills. Glad I was right and prepared myself accordantly. You see, in my fighting style as been past through generation to generation. You'll see no one who can use it now a day. Well, except for me. Let me show you some more!"
This time, Haya splits into two Hayas. Then three and four... She breaks herself into a total of ten Hayas. Then, all Hayas charges at me, swinging five punches each. The total 50 punches could be somewhat hard to dodge, but I was done with this crap.
I activate Slow Motion, run and punch each Haya in the stomach. After doing so, I dispel the skill and watch the mayhem unleash.
"Ack!"
All Hayas combine into one Haya. Then she falls to the ground, spitting out blood.
"H-how! You shouldn't have been able to dodge those punches! I even sent some to all around you."
True, there were some punches behind and to the sides of me. Unfortunately for her, I had skills to protect myself and to run away. I could merely teleport behind her, for example.
I walk to her and slam kick her in the back. This causes her to blackout. The announcer turns back on.
"Wow! We have a winner! Sho is moving up. He has five wins, which makes him a student at this school! Congratulations. Total time for this fight... Five minutes!"
Five minutes? That is longer than the fight from the four vs. one. Well, she is stronger than all those people combine, so it makes sense. Anyway, I got my seat, so I think I should be able to leave now. I start to walk out the door instead of my seat. I walk to the receptionist, who smiles when seeing me.
"Congratulations, Sho! Welcome to our school. Please come tomorrow morning to get your rank, school information, and some more important news!"
"Understood."
I smile at the receptionist and walk home (or move to a secluded area and then teleported home). Man, I do love these skills...
