[•Nuri's POV•]
I have never been inside a bar in my life and alcohol has never even crossed my mind, my father does drink and my mother hates him for it. I hope I don't get in trouble, that was the only thing I was worried about because wherever I go, I do something or the other which ends up in a total disaster.
As we entered the place, I could smell the light nauseating scent of alcohol which I disliked. There were red lights all around the room, it was fairly crowded with tables without chairs and a small stage at the end. There was also a dance floor which was full and nobody was singing right now as a really awesome song was playing in the background.
"I will go find Deren, you find us a table" and Yeşim disappeared into the crowd. How the hell am I supposed to find a table when almost every one of them was occupied. I finally caught a glance at an empty one near the dance floor and slowly moved towards it.
Suddenly, my top got hooked on one of the tables, I pulled and pulled but it just didn't want to let go. Finally, I tugged so hard that my leg slipped, and my ankle struck the leg of the table and I fell down on my back, but god willing, at the right time, some fellow had to come walking behind me and I fell over him causing the glass in his hand to practice for Olympics high jump. The glass came straight down on my face but thankfully I caught it. Still, I couldn't avoid the refreshing bath of alcohol which followed. My face was wet, even my clothes.
My leg hurt so much and I cried in pain. "Will you get off of me!" Said the man below me. I rolled over to the side causing my hand to hit the leg of some other table. "Aah!" I cried. Finally, Yeşim and some other girl lifted me up. The music stopped, the dancing ended and all eyes were fixed on me and that man. I turned to look at him. He was stunning but equally angry, even I was angry. "Are you okay?" Asked Yeşim, let me guess, I am soaked in liquor, I have hurt my ankle and my hand is no better... No! I am totally not okay, but before I had the chance to answer, the man turned to me trying to dry his wet sleeve. "Deli kız!" He said with cold eyes, "Ne yaptığını bile biliyor musun?" I didn't understand anything he said except 'kiz', he called me something... Definitely bad and his expression didn't seem as if he was trying to say sorry.
"Speak to me in English if you are a man!" I said challenging him though Yeşim tried to stop me, "Türkçe bilmiyor musun? Tamam... What the hell do you think you are doing, huh girl? What if the glass had broke? It would have fallen all over my face!" whoa... That wasn't expected but I wasn't backing off soon. "If you hadn't asked for that glass then my clothes would still be dry!" I said yelling right back. "I will drink when I have to and when I want, who are you to question me?" He asked coming closer. We looked at each other's eyes furiously and as I was about to reply, the bar manager came and asked us to break it up and to take it outside.
I tried walking but my leg hurt so much that I had to lean over Yeşim and the other girl's shoulder. I was so angry with him. We went outside and as we did that, he took a pretty fancy amount of money from his wallet and handed it to me, "Take this and leave me alone" he said, "I don't want it!" I yelled, He was still glaring at me but kept back the money. I tried walking but it was difficult for me to even try limping. "Your leg looks really bad, it needs a doctor's attention" Said Yeşim The man sighed, "Fine, I will take you to the hospital... Go on, get in" he said taking his key and unlocking a really fancy blue car which was parked right outside.
"Yeşim, I can't come. The next show is mine" said the other girl, "Tamam, I will go with Nuri.. see you tonight" and Yeşim kissed that girl as she was about to leave. "Hey!" I said calling after her, she turned to face me, "Thanks for helping me up" I said, she nodded, "Your welcome, get well soon, see you!" And she went back in.
The car ride was silent but so comfy. I loved his car. So big and soft, but it ended quickly. I was sitting in the back with Yeşim and he glanced at me occasionally through the rearview mirror. When we reached the hospital, Yeşim and the guy got out but I couldn't get out of the seat as my leg hurt so much. Yeşim tried helping me up but I slipped and as I was about to kiss the ground, he caught me by my waist, and star d at me for a second till he broke the silence, "Will you hurt your head too, deli kiz?" I have never let any stranger touch me before or save me as he did but I still was very angry at him so I pushed away his hand and sat on the wheelchair which Yeşim brought. "Thank you sir" said Yeşim and as she started to roll me away, "Thanks..." I mumbled in an angry tone and he just nodded, though frowning. He somehow seemed very depressed about something.
After being rolled to the entrance, I realized that I was soaked in alcohol. Everybody in the hospital was staring at me, I tried my best to look down and cover my face with my hand and at that time, Yeşim handed me her scarf. I loved this girl.
The doctor said he would take an x-ray of my leg to make sure nothing else is wrong. My ankle was slightly dislocated like my temper. The doctor tied a bandage around my leg and asked me not to move it much for two days. Thankfully I was discharged that night. It was pretty late and surprisingly we found that same guy at the reception keeping his wallet back in his coat. I stopped where I was though Yeşim went ahead and thanked him and Yeşim signaled me to come over, I slowly walked towards where they were standing, though I didn't show any interest in the conversation, I was able to understand that he paid for my check-up. "He will drop us home!" She said, "No Thankyou, I am not yet bankrupt... I can hire a cab" and I slowly walked out without giving a last glance to the both of them.
"I am very sorry we troubled you... Have a good night!" I heard her say and the clicking of high heels towards me. She caught up with me, "What are you doing?" "It's pretty late... We shouldn't get into an unknown man's car without a good enough reason... Keep walking, don't look back" I said. She chuckled and turned around and waved at him smiling, I really wanted to know his response so I turned. He didn't look much interested in us, he just did a hand gesture and turned back to go to the parking lot without even smiling. He seemed physically alive but mentally dead. What a strange man.
