"Are you out of your senses? What the heck are you talking about. And how do you know so much about me? Do you have a death wish?"
I shouted fiercely at him. Who did he think, he was ? Bloody teenage boy, showing me tantrums.
"Shut your mouth up, Valerie Monaro. You must really not know, who I am or else you wouldn't dare to talk to me in that loud tone of yours."
He yelled back and anger shone in his dark eyes, they were identical. I have seen them before, but with some wrinkles around. What the heck? Why did his facial features resembles Benjamin Williams. Could he possibly be....
"Yes, Valerie Monaro, you are right. I am Warrick Williams, the only son of Benjamin Williams."
He said as if reading my mind, a proud smile covering his face. As if it is was something to be proud of! I've read his name in few articles of Benjamin, but his photo wasn't shown in any of them, so I didn't knew how he looked. A few sites claimed to have his photographs but when I opened them, their data was deleted. I found that weird. Maybe, Benjamin made them do so, for his son's privacy and safety concern.
"But how could you possibly be...We weren't informed about your arrival."
I said, shocked. We only knew Benjamin was coming and the reason- no one knew. But why was his son here? And when did he come, I only saw Benjamin and his two men.
"Are you idiot? I am still a minor and am not inducted to mob yet and being the only son of Benjamin Williams, I've got plenty of enemies who would love to chop my head off. My father thinks he couldn't risk making my identity public. But you know, what I think? ...He is absolutely wrong, I am much more capable than any of his men and well proficient in keeping my ass safe."
He told with a twisted yet threatening grin. I didn't doubt his words, maybe he was right. He has got so much confident, he dared to speak crap about Enzo and I and wasn't afraid of it. He wasn't appalled of Enzo, let go of me. It didn't matter, who he was, he should have still respected a capo, if there weren't any grudges between the families. Maybe, it was because of his adolescent age, but he was acting way too fiercely which was his over confidence. If Enzo was here, he would have killed Warrick right here on the spot regardless of who he was. He didn't like anyone misbehaving and especially not when some speaks crap about him or his territory.
"It doesn't matters who you are. You should still be in your limits and respect the capo."
I didn't know from where the confidence came in me to say something like that after knowing it could rotten our relations with Benjamin but Warrick did wrong by insulting the capo, he insulted me more but I wasn't someone who deserved respect as much as Enzo did. Before the guy with arrogance could reply, we heard footsteps from behind.
"What's happening here? I warned you Warrick!"
Benjamin said in a threatening voice and his son rolled his eyes on that. He considered himself way too matured.
"Mr Williams I think a small problem is being pushed over here."
I said despite the fact, he could feel bad about, me blaming his son but the fault was his.
"Trust me Valerie. He didn't mean to say whatsoever he said, he has just forgot his limits. I will need to correct him."
Benjamin assured me in polite voice and thank god he didn't take it upon our business relations.
"What's the problem, Warrick?"
He asked in a low yet cold voice, his son just glared him for a second and then answered,
"This bitch doesn't knows how to talk...."
"Watch your tongue, Warrick!"
His father shouted at top of his voice, cutting Warrick in between, he was shocked and I gasped at the momentum of the voice. A few guests came out of their room because of the loud noise.
"Sorry for the disturbance, you all can go back to your rooms now. I assure it won't happen again."
I told them before they could start complaining .
"Let's go in and talk this out."
Benjamin suggested, and we all went in.
"You will tell me what all happened from the starting, honestly and without abusing."
Benjamin said to his son.
"We ordered a cake for my birthday, my friends especially asked for that cake only. And when everything was going according to the plan for my midnight birthday celebrations, these bi... They come and say they couldn't make it on time and can compensate me with their other best. What kind of a hotel is this? I am just an unhappy customer and it's legit for me to be furious about it."
He told his dad everything and I glad was he didn't lie. He must really respect Benjamin that he kept his words and didn't lie.
"Is that it? Is that the only reason, you were creating a scene over here that Oyer had to call me, saying you were being a trouble?"
Benjamin said, but I didn't saw Oyer, his bodyguard, anywhere around when Warrick was misbehaving.
"Oh! I knew that asshole would be keeping an eye on me."
Warrick whispered loud enough for all of us us to hear in the mourning silence of room.
"Warrick! You better stop abusing about the people you should respect or I would have to teach you a good lesson, which you wouldn't like."
Benjamin warned and for the first Warrick seemed to obey as he didn't roll his eyes and neither made any other disinterested gesture.
"I am apologizing for my son's mistake and regarding the cake incident, it's okay it happens and you can compensate him with your other best."
Benjamin said to me with a plain face.
"Yeah sure I will. But would you mind me asking about your son's arrival? We weren't knowing he'll be coming too and we didn't saw him coming with you."
I asked Benjamin, hoping he would not mind. Warrick let out a sigh, seemingly annoyed by my question. But who cares?
"Oh! Sorry but I couldn't comment on it, it's because of some security reasons and yeah I brought my son here and wanted to introduce him to you and Enzo on our meeting. But things turned out to be different way."
Benjamin said and I suddenly regretted asking.
"Yeah I completely understand. We'll see you at the meeting."
I said to him, without glancing at his son. I knew he was rolling his eyes. He was such a pest, if it wasn't because of Benjamin and Enzo's relation's sake, I would have thrown him out of my hotel, already.
I took a deep sigh as I stepped out of the suite and Chloe, carefully placed a hand on my shoulder, comforting me.
"It's okay, he is arrogant and aggressive because his puberty.,"
She said.
"Yeah I guess."
I agreed. The chef was still standing there with her head bowed. This wasn't her fault either. She was petrified after, Warrick created the scene and, she had nothing to do with these mafia men temper.
"You don't have to feel bad. Mistakes happen and I know you are one of our best staffs, so don't let yourself down because of something like this."
I tried, soothing her with my words. She was only a chef and she had nothing to do with mafia business. So, letting her feel bad for whatever happened would be bad.
"Thank you so much, Miss Monaro. I am touched by your solicitude and would never repeat this mistake again."
She spoke generously and I beamed at her and she went back to her work. Only those staff memebers called me Valerie or Miss Monaro, who were either my age or elder to me. She was much older to me and last we met she was being all formal and I had told her not to call me ma'am. I have always been called by that word, my father's position paid me respect as well. But I didn't like it, I wanted people in my life who would just see me as a normal person and not be fearful. Lucy was my cousin and we shared things but somewhere there was still a line that told us to what extensions we could share things and what dignity we to maintain while being cousins.
Chloe has been so nice to me and she wasn't afraid of me because of my position or family background. She respected me and wasn't afraid to talk her heart out with me. She was someone whom I can feel assured about while seeking comfort, when I was tired with my world. But that meant dragging her along and she didn't deserve it. She was too innocent and maybe that was why, she couldn't sense the terror that might trouble her by being close to me. What would happen the next moment- no one could precisely tell, being in this sinful world.
"Are you okay Valerie?"
Chloe asked and I realised I was too lost in my thoughts to listen what she was saying.
"Umm... Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry, what were you saying?"
I asked, feeling sorry for not listening.
"I was asking, if you would tell, Enzo about the incident?"
The question, she asked was worth pondering. I didn't know, how Enzo would react. He would be furious for sure, but what if he didn't control his anger on that guy misbehaving and ruin the things which could be advantageous for him, for his territory?
