Chapter 4 - three

ever since that day, xiao dejun begun asking himself

what have i lied about?

have i ever lied to him?

he frowned as he laid down on the bed, staring at the ceiling as if it's gonna give him the answers he needed.

dejun ignoring someone in school is already a rare occurrence, how much more lying? he then tried recalling the older days: preschool, elementary and middle school.

dejun remembers being acquaintances with yangyang so he knew how the boy behaved before and he just smiled at the thought.

"he used to be such a nice kid." dejun mumbled, sighing as he turned around to face the wall. "hell, he was the only one willing to help me before the popularity began."

on the other side of the neighbourhood, yangyang sat at a park's bench while watching a couple who were out on a late-night date. rolling his eyes, he stood up and approached the couple parallel to the bench he sat on.

"hey, excuse me?" yangyang spoke nicely, smiling while staring at the both of them dead in the eye. times like this when he was thankful for his ability.

"yes? oh, hi yangyang." it turns out the male was kun, one of the seniors who took care of the play actors and actresses.

"sorry to bother you, kun. but i believe your girlfriend over here isn't as she seems..." yangyang's sweet expression turned into a glare as he devilishly grinned at the girl.

"news flash: she hates your ass but stays for the fame and popularity. if you haven't been receiving skinship or decent affection; well then, jemimah..."

yangyang bitterly laughed as he read through the girl's flood of emotions. "she doesn't feel it."

kun couldn't believe what he was hearing, even asking himself what sort of proof can this boy have or if it was even true but as he observed the way yangyang glared daggers at his girlfriend, he noticed that the girl was nervously shivering.

"come on, be honest unless you want me to tell the whole school~" yangyang said, his grin being comparable to the chesire cat.

"oh how wonderful it would be if i, liu yangyang, expose your bullshit and tell everyone how much of a greedy whore you're being."

this was one thing people feared about liu yangyang; his abilities to pry necessary information through painful words and mind tricks.

"fine!" the girl fell to the ground, tears falling onto her legs as she cried. yangyang was correct and kun knew it; you wouldn't start crying over such things if they weren't true, right?

kun then smiled gratefully at yangyang who just rolled his eyes once more but smiled nonetheless. "thank you for that." kun mumbled before kneeling down beside the crying girl.

"as for you... i hope you find some sort of genuine happiness and maybe even some cash because you better pay me back."

the two boys left and ended up walking side-by-side in comfortable silence until kun tugged on yangyang's hand.

"i don't really care how you did it but i'm surprised you helped me of all people.. thank you, yang."
