Chapter 23 - Chapter XXIII: Ending To A New Beginning

Act: 23

Hours pass as the wind's gentle breeze grazed alongside the faint sound of critters echoing throughout the forest. The dim but bright light of the fluorescent moon shone gracefully. Moving around in his sleep Shizu steadily began coming to his senses, looking as everything, he saw had a slight blur before returning to normal after some blinking- while trying to process everything that had happened leading up to him being unconscious, resting up against a severely dented tree.

"Ah... How come this is starting to feel normal... Almost like Deja vu. I hate to say this but why have I been taking countless losses... Is what I'm doing even worth it? Everything I do turns out to be a failure..."

Setting both of his hands down on the grass lifting himself back on his feet.

"Maybe I should just stick to being a basic healer, staying in the backline watching all the action... After all, that's the whole purpose of my Star..."

"A useless Resurrection."

*Bam*

Slamming his left hand into the tree furthermore denting it out of frustration. Stepping away he trailed back to his mini-camp sight. Without paying any attention to the tree he hit- snapping it in half and launching into the air flying plenty of feet away, so far that when it landed no noise could be heard of it slamming.

Then it... Damn it all... they destroyed everything! All my hard work and effort! Destroyed by those damn... "sniffle" ... people!"

Falling on his knees he let out a heavy sigh before completely face-planting the dirt, tears falling down his cheek endlessly and onto the dirt, steadily curling up his body. Subtle rain began to slowly fall as the night sky rose.

'I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.'

The rain worsened, shifting from a subtle to a heavy downpour. Shizu remained still while the rain hid the burst of tears he had let out.

Later that night the full moon shone over the forest shimmering from above. Shizu was still lying in the same spot sleeping for the entire downpour, his clothes soggy clenching to his body, his eyes shut, red and puffy from the amount of crying that lasted until he fully fell asleep.

The moonlight beamed over Shizu slowly waking him up. Rubbing both eyes, he opened them to be re-invited to another night in this hell of a forest that he believes. The sound of sloshing as he stood up removing each layer of clothes at a time, blankly standing in moonlight butt naked leaning his head back. He looks down at both of his hands before angrily shuffling them through his hair.

"Aghhh!"

Birds took flight, flapping away from treetops as the sound of his cry rattled the surrounding area of the forest. Looking back, he runs forward jumping in the water where he'd normally taken baths. Splashing the water upwards Shizu closes his eyes while sinking further and further into the warm water.

'I should just give up... Shouldn't I? Nobody will miss me in the end... Right?'

"..."

'I can barely hold my breath... The end...'

"Shizu!"

The sound of Chisaka's distorted voice comes from above the water. Shizu's eyes opened, shocked from hearing her soothing voice, the voice of an angel from above saving him.

'Chisaka! I can't give up yet! I may not be strong now, but I'll make sure those hooded shits pay!"

*Bu-dum Bu-dum*

"I won't give up now-!"

Water entered his mouth as he shouted out a set of words. An interesting amount of crystal-clear energy began to swirl around his body, his blood boiling and the beat of his heart getting louder and louder. Lunging out of the spring water. Landing on the grass, his hair was faintly glowing bright white; he felt energy tingling all around his body. Going straight towards the giant rock- eyes blank, winding his right arm back, swinging it in the rock with a devastating blow; the impact and sheer force had been stronger than anything else he's ever produced before, the rock busted launching mini-sized pebbles back into some trees destroying them and anything else that happened to be behind it. The rock finally was. Gone. The only thing left was a stump where it once stood.

*Thud*

Shizu landed back on the ground with his eyes closed and his heartbeat lowering. Something was strange though a mist of reddish-blue energy emitted from the rock flowing its way to Shizu's body engulfing him and soon after disappearing.

Opening his eyes. Reaching out his hand for the moon, slowly closing it.

"Chisaka... If only you were here... But... I can't believe I managed to do it... Someone as weak as me, you gave me the strength to keep going and I will see you soon."

Shizu got back on his feet again.

"Enough stalling! I will leave this place stronger than before! My training here wasn't a fluke!"

He noticed out of the corner of his eye from where he broke the rock. A trail of little orbs made of light lit up a pathway as if it had been trying to draw him in, leading to an unknown area.

"Hm? Whatever danger I'm in I don't care. I can face it head-on and destroy anything that would stand in my way with these two hands, who cares if I don't have any fancy, Powers! Bring it on world! Or forest...?"

Without any time to waste he followed to where the light had trailed, the small orbs of light disappeared the moment he walked past them or brushed up upon them making contact. The more he advanced the darker it got but what was brightening the damp trees were those small orbs scattered about.

"Sometimes I wonder where I'm going half of the time. Now that reality sank in a bit... Hehe... I think this was probably a bad idea, given the fact of those shadow things I happened to see in the cave...!"

"Wait!"

"I better not be heading back into that cave... Maybe I should turn back now while I still have the chance-"

As he turned around, gasping out of confusion. The trail behind him disappeared. What once was the trail now had just become trees surrounding him, turning back in the other direction now even more confused; he stumbled back a bit from being greeted by a run-down cabin directly in front of him.

"Huh! What the!"

Shizu, with no other option to mind, walked close to the door grabbing the rusted silver handle and pushing it downwards.

*Creek*

The door wasn't locked at all. Pushing forward he entered, closing the door behind him. Looking around at the dark, cobweb-filled place.

"It's way too damn dark to see anything... Wait? Shouldn't I be able to do what I did last time?"

He focused intensely on the darkness. Nothing seemed to work; his eyes wouldn't adjust. Confused, he resorted to the only other thing in his arsenal that was bright.

"Resurrection"

A white glow began to shine on his right hand. Raising that hand, he was able to see much clearer on the table, by the door resided a lamp that only needed to be lit. Walking over there he grabbed it along with two rocks perfectly placed on the floor. The from his Star vanished and using the two rocks in his hands he began scraping them together.

*Clank, clank- skks*

Scraping the rocks together for a bit and with a little help of his Star energy, he managed to get a spark out, lighting up the lamp. Picking it up he now gained himself a small light source that made it easier to see.

"Ok... So. Nothing in this forest makes any sense. First small orbs. Second a disappearing passageway and lastly a magical appearing cabin."

Shizu put his hands in a praying position with the lamp dangling.

"I would like to deeply thank Shishou for bringing me to Death Valley."

Heading further into this place he finds another unlocked door, this room looked to be quite a basic bedroom with a framed photo on top of a drawer. He grabbed the photo only to be astounded. The entire thing was covered in dust, blowing it away in the photo was Shishou standing in front of the cabin on the far right, in the middle there was a woman, and on the left was another man, both unknown to Shizu's knowledge.

"Shishou!"

"Huh! Now nothing makes any sense, who are these people, and why the hell are you here? Looking so young!"

*Ah-choo!*

"Wait, what's this next to the photo?"

Setting the photo back down he picks up a dusty book with a strange seal on it.

"Huh? Does this thing require Star energy? Maybe...? I've never seen anything like this before."

"Resurrection!"

A faint white light emits from both hands, draining into the book slowly deteriorating the seal until it completely disappeared.

"Who knew that would work. Now for the main event, do I even bother opening it...? Hmmmm."

*Breaking news a beam of light was recently seen North of Japan, this light people have reported is said to have shown a certain color although other people have claimed that they saw different. I personally saw a purple beam, reports show a dark red, dark blue, silver, etc. Also, more information states that it lasted for approximately 3 seconds. Possibly even shorter. This beam has even caught the eyes of high-class fighters and Rankers. We're now getting claims that other countries have stated to have seen this light coming from Asia, Europe, and the US claiming to have sightings of the beam. Just where did it come from! *

Hano: Looks up outside of his window to catch a glimpse of the beam. "Hm?"

Rest of student council: "!!"

Students who went to the school, in their homes, and teachers who witnessed the light.

Aikawa: Stepping outside of her porch, gasping at the sight, talking with someone? "Did you hear that laugh too!"

Chisaka: "What could that possibly be...?" Watching from outside of her mansion.

Taku and Tila: zZzz.

Organization R;h: "Oh? / Now what? / My art is much better. / Is this the time?"

Master: "That laugh was beautiful, magnificent, it makes my body ache with joy. So, it now starts. Finally, my last war is beginning."

Unknown foes: "Heh! Someone new was born. Does that mean we'll have someone fun to fight! We will have to wait but not for long."

Other countries: Shocked to see a faint beam in the sky. Unsure of its origin.

A man with red and yellow lines in his dreads: "That beam of light? Its power reminds me of Hydra. And him. I wonder if it'll become a problem later on."

Shishou: Meditating outside he opens his eyes to see the blood-red mixed with a gold beam in the sky alongside a faint figure appearing for a point of a second. "So, it begins. I'm sorry."

[ - - - - ]

A beam of light blasted into the sky, no damage was caused by its appearance, the beam shot far up into the sky breaking through the atmosphere. A faint but horrific laugh had come out of it as a spiral of energy overlayed and swirled around it.
