Shocked at what I heard from the doctor, I drove back to the Shack, trying to wrap my head around what Dr.Cunning said earlier.
"Ms.Strauss did not drowned, she died because of poisoning just like what the autopsy says, the bruises on her neck was already there before she died, I think she got into a fight with someone before her untimely demise. Well, it's only my hypothesis though. I think whoever poisoned her wanted to hide the fact about what really happened and made it looked like she drowned, and no one noticed it just what like what the perpetrator wanted." that was what Dr.Cunning told me. After hearing that I asked the doctor to provide me with a list of Vien's belongings, because we might find something out with that list.
Knowing the truth about Vien's death made me somewhat uneasy. Because before her body was found in the lake and before Hal disappeared, I saw them. It was the night after my shift at the Shack, I was on my way home when I saw both of them in Hal's car driving away in the middle of the night, which I thought was weird cause I heard that they had already broke up. Well that time I actually don't care what they'd do, they make their own choices, so they can get back to their old relationship for all I care. but that was before Vien died and Hal went missing, if I only knew what would happened I could've stopped it. But no one can predict what's going to happen in the future, so I need to man up. In this town filled with shadows and secrets, All I can do is solve its mysteries and pray that all would return back to the way it was.
Afterwards I called Patrick and asked him to meet me at Moonlit Shack, 'cause I'm stilling wrapping my head on the matter about Vien's death. And I know that he can help, that's what he always did.
Both of us arrived at the same time, so we got in the Shack and sat on one of the booths. He already knows that there's something up the moment I called, so he asked "What's the problem bro? You look stressed" in to which I replied, "I think Hal's alive". Bewildered with what I just said, Patrick asked me why I even thought of it. So while having our midnight snacks at the Shack, I explained everything to him.
Meanwhile, while we were busting our asses out 'cause of this conundrum, LA's it girl just arrived at the local apartment building owned by her parents, The Blue Hyacinth. Even after moving to a small town, Sydney's princess-like lifestyle and habits did not change one bit.
As they walked into the apartment, they were greeted by their butler, Mr.William Miller.
"Welcome home! Sir Cedrick, Miss Isabel, oh and Miss Sydney" he exclaimed
"William! Oh you are a sight for sore eyes" Cedrick stated
"I'll get the bags"
"Appreciate it, William," said Isabel
"Oh, would you like menu's so you can order in?" William asked in to which Cedrick replied: "Oh no, Isabel and I have been craving Moonlit Shack's fried chicken and burgers."
William nodded as he passes through the apartment building's entrance, while the Asher family proceeded to go up to their new home.
Now let's go back to the Shack, after hearing what I have to say Patrick also concluded that Hal might be alive but if he is then where the hell is he? why is he hiding? and just what the hell was Vien poisoned? Did he do it? Or is he also a victim?
But we don't have proof that he's alive, and that's where the list comes in. I remember what the two of them were wearing, so if something's missing from their belongings or if something was different from what I remember they were wearing I'll have the proof that we need.
We reviewed every item on the list but shockingly enough the only thing missing from Vien was her necklace that Hal gave to her on their anniversary, I think it was a family heirloom that was passed down for generations. But there's still not enough proof to confirm my suspicions, and if it is possible that he is alive I still need to locate Hal's whereabouts, so I asked Patrick to keep it to himself for now. Because if anyone found out there will be another major issue, especially if Pauleen knew about it, she'd storm the House of Gremory and every other property that they own just to find him and to find out what truly happened that day.
When you finally answer one question another one takes its place, just who was the one responsible for Vien's death? And what's their reason for killing her? Is it possible that the one who killed Vien might also be responsible for Hal's disappearance? And if it's only a robbery gone wrong, why did the perpetrator only take the necklace? The questions, in this case, are similar to a hydra's head but in this case, when you answer one question and four questions will pop out to replace it.
Now that we mention Pauleen, I think she's still sulking about Vien's death. She loved her sister, she loved her family more than anything else. To the point that she stopped solving mysteries with me and Pat, and even breaking up with me. Yes yes, we have a thing but her father doesn't approve of me 'cause of my dad. My Father, Jaic Price is the leader of a gang called "Spectres" and he also wants me to ascend his little throne, that's why I left the house—well—it's was half of the reason but that's a story for another time.
"Hey bro, how are you and Pau? Like when are you guys gonna get back together?" Patrick asked
"I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon, besides it's been six months since we broke up, I need to move on," I replied
"How about you and Cheryll, you still good?" This time I'm the one doing the asking
"Yep, but I haven't told her that we're investigating this case. Cause bro if she knew she'd snap and I also don't want her getting involved with this mystery" he replied
See us, even in a time of grieve and darkness we still talk about happiness like our own love lives. That's how optimistic we are 'cause if we'd just accept everything that has been happening in our town, the town of liveliness, our town would fade away into the darkness.
