Chapter 7 - The Murders of Vien Strauss and Hal Gremory part 7

"I'm guilty," Christian said, as those words left his mouth everyone went silent. The silence was broken after they left the room, and our class started again soon. The rumors spread quickly after 4th period, Patrick and I went to the club room to discuss the matter, while Sydney was trying to persuade Pauleen to join us in the club room. I was still shocked from what I heard earlier "I'm guilty" so he said. Another batch of questions came to me, "Why would he kill Vien and his own Brother? What's his motive for doing so?"

"Hey Pat, you wire tapped the principal's office right? turn it on, lets listen in on them." the two of us listen to them talking, we needed to know about the meaning behind his words.

On the other hand, Christian was being questioned at the principles office.

"Let me just clear something, I said that I'm guilty, but I didn't said I was guilty of murder" he said. The sheriff then asked him what's the meaning behind those words with a very angry look on his face, and with just that Christian confessed. He told them that he knew that Vien and Hal was alive, he said that both of them wanted to get away from Grim Haven, far away where their parents won't find them. But they delayed their plan because they were almost caught by Hal's parents. He knew where they hid, he was the one buying them their everyday necessities because they can't go anywhere, not when Hal's parents were looking for them.

He also explained how they suddenly disappeared on 1st of july, 3 days before the appearance of Vien's cold corpse. He didn't thought that it was weird because his brother always had the habit of not saying things to him, but after seeing the corpse of poor Vien, he immediately tried contacting his brother's phone. Unfortunately no one answered.

And a week later the unexpected happened, the corpse of his brother was found. Overwhelmed with sorrow he wanted to say what he knew, but he was afraid to do so, well atleast his sloppiness saved him from grieve. the cops found a cctv recording of him going to where his brother and Vien was staying.

He also mentioned some other things while confessing, but he was interrupted by his parents. They came after hearing about it from the sheriff's office.

"Not another word young man!", furiously Mrs. Gremory said, as both parents stormed inside the principal's office.

And with Christian in toe, they left as quickly as they arrived. As they walked through the halls of the school, everyone, every student, faculty staff, teachers, all of them was looking at him, he was currently the talk of the school--well--he was the talk of the whole town. Christian, who only wanted his brother to be happy with his loved one, is now one of the primary suspects for the murder.

...

Ten minutes later, Sydney and Pauleen arrived at the clubroom. Things became awfully awkward when they came inside. I thought it would be okay right now, but I guess I was wrong. But thankfully Pat and Sydney, broke the ice. And with that our conversations became more smooth.

"So... what's the scoop?", Pauleen suddenly asked, into which Pat and I were bewildered and replied "What scoop?"

It seems like she knows that we tapped the Principal's office, dang she's scary perceptive sometimes. Well guess we have no choice to tell them. We told them, everything that we heard from the beginning so it took quite a while to finish. The girls were quick to get the gist, so there were no need to explain it thoroughly.

...

We needed more information before we could point fingers at someone, so I decided to check out the crime scene once more by myself of course. I looked for clues in the areas near the scene of the crime. I couldn't find anything though, well it's been a long time since it happened I didn't expect to find anything anyway.

I was about to get out of the woods when I heard a noise coming from behind me, quickly I hid behind some trees near me. It was a tall guy dressed in black, with a mask covering his face. No one would the woods at night like that, especially this part of the forest. Only people who would visit this place is the police and they do that in the morning or maybe someone like me looking for clues. But that guy... my guts is telling me not to move an inch or I'll be the next body in Dr. Cunning's morgue

"I know you're here" the man said, I couldn't recognize his voice 'cause of the mask that he's wearing but my gut was telling me that I know this guy.

"There's no point in hiding, I know where you are" again he said, I raised my guard as he approaches near the trees that I'm hiding in.

"Let me tell you one thing kid, Stop looking for clues or else the next body that'll be found in the woods is yours" I can clearly feel his intent to kill but I couldn't move 'cause if I do then I'll be dead for sure.

Well just my luck, here I am looking for clues but instead I think I found the killer himself. I just dropped my guard for a sec but as soon as I did he struck.

"I FOUND YOU" he said as he was dashing towards me knife in hand

I have no other choice but to run, because this guy is really going in for the kill. Quickly I ran away from the man but he threw his knife straight at me hitting my shoulder. The knife stopped me in my tracks, I felt excruciating pain in my shoulder. The man quickly caught up to me, "Did you think that you can run away from me boy?" he said as put pressure to the knife before pulling it out my shoulder. As the blood gushed out from my shoulder, My mind started to feel fuzzy I guess it was due to blood loss.

I can still see the man holding his knife, but I guess he's not in the mood to play anymore. The man pointed his knife to my throat and stepped on my bloody shoulder.

"Any last words kid? well doesn't even matter since it's only me who's going to hear it" he said
