Cathryn sang along in the shower as music played loudly from their shared apartment's bathroom speakers. She wasn't able to answer when her cell phone rang repeatedly since she was busy unwrapping her head from the towel and blowing her hair dry.
A text dinged in her phone from an unknown number and she checked it out when she finished.
Come tonight or I would destroy the book from the library. –Alexander
'How nice of you to take the poor book I borrowed from the library as a hostage.' Cathryn texted back but then she narrowed her eyes at the screen. 'How did you get my number, Alexander?'
She waited for three minutes but the bastard didn't reply.
She plugged her phone to the charging socket and threw it on the bed. Cathryn needed her cellphone in a full battery in case she needed to take a video or pictures on their cool performance.
This would be a night to remember.
Motivational and humorous art posters lined up on the walls of her room while a set of geometric patterns covered the bed. She opened her closet and got her best piece of clothing from the hanger. It was a loose see-through gossamer black dress with floral designs on them.
Oh shit, was this too much or too little?
Too much skin and too little cover?
Now that she wore them in front of the mirror Cathryn realized it probably looked like a nightie.
Well, it's the trend for teenage girls.
If it's trendy clothes nothing would go wrong.
Cathryn wore it for the night event at a fancy hotel so it was going to be fine since she put on a black lacy bra underneath. She wasn't sashaying around the concert naked, for god's sake. Justin and Edward were fashion designing students so they would approve of her choice if they see her.
She was hoping Alexander would, too.
After putting on simple make-up and bold red lipstick, she got the concert tickets from her night table and put it in her purse just in case she might forget them. She might have to create a commotion so that the guards would let her in if ever she left it at their apartment.
She went to the door hook as she checked for what coats or hoodies she would wear over her sexy black dress. It was too revealing for her but she can manage.
Tempting Alexander would be worth it. The bastard liked to mess with her feelings.
Their apartment's doorknob suddenly turned and Justin and Edward saw her trying out one of her leather coats. Edward raised a curious eyebrow at her as Justin arranged his shoes on the main entrance.
"Where are you going, baby girl?" Edward took quick steps toward her and Cathryn stepped to the side.
"I was invited somewhere." She replied.
Justin asked as he placed his backpack on the couch. "A date with your boyfriend?"
"Since when do I have a boyfriend, Justin?"
"Wait, you still don't have one?" Edward exclaimed from the kitchen as Cathryn heard the gurgle of a brewing coffee pot at the same time.
"What do you mean?" After choosing the coat she would wear over her dress, she went back to her room to check out her overall look in the mirror. She sprayed perfume in the air, twirling to bask in the scent of vanilla and peaches.
"I thought Alexander was your boyfriend?" Edward said as he barged into my room and Justin strolled in next, his gaze scanning me from head-to-toe.
"What the fuck, NO!"
"Then who will you meet up then?"
Cathryn's cheeks threw up a red flame, and she looked at both of them and then away. She pursed her lips, trying to keep it a secret but basing on the smirks plastered on their handsome faces, they already knew.
Edward pouted, crossing his arms. "Oh, you don't want to share now, kitten?"
Edward grabbed her by the waist and the bedsprings chirped as he threw her to the bed, tickling her and messing up her hair until she begged them to stop. Justin even helped and fluffed the pillow on her face.
"Stop it! My make-up, you fuckers. It took me an hour to do this." Cathryn shrieked as she blindly kicked while she was held down by the bed, praying she would hit someone's nuts in revenge. "The eyebrow powder and my foundation will stick on the linens."
"Afraid your mask would slip off?" Edward taunted as he laughed heartily. "If you wouldn't tell us you were not allowed to get out of our apartment."
"Okay, fine. I'm meeting Alexander tonight."
Justin demanded, his voice loud. "Where's our invitation?"
"Yes, of course. How could I forget that?" Cathryn rolled her eyes, realizing Alexander had indeed given her three concert tickets so she could invite her friends. "Want to come?"
"It depends if you're patient enough to wait for us," Edward said.
"Of course I am," Cathryn said. "You have the car and I have no plan to walk towards the Hard Rock Hotel."
"Hard Rock, huh?" Edward wiggled his eyebrows, teasing her. "When he meets you in that sexy dress will he take the Hotel's name literally?"
"Edward, promise me we wouldn't go there," Cathryn warned.
"So what's the dress code?"
She shrugged at Justin. "I don't know I just picked a neutral dress I have."
"Oh? So you're not wearing that thin spaghetti strap little black dress to tempt him?" He frowned. "You aren't even wearing a bra."
"Shut up, Edward. I'm wearing a bra and this isn't even for him." Cathryn lied quick. "We ladies dress well for the other ladies to make them jealous of me."
"Oh, Cat," Justin said. "Taking out the competition so early, huh?"
"Whatever, Justin." Cathryn waved a hand in dismissal trying to hide her grin. "Whatever, you think."
Cathryn was tired of explaining herself to her friends so she got wafers and biscuits for Justin and Edward from the mini-fridge. They should eat before going to the Hard Rock Hotel. She also prepared the yogurt and cheese for herself and two mugs of coffee for them.
"Now, hurry up because we're going after this."
