Every light on the stage blazed bright and rock music boomed out inside the venue. People had spilled out as the big double doors of the concert venue at the Hard Rock Hotel stood open.
Cathryn wasn't able to move from the mob.
"Come, babe, or we're going to lose each other," Edward yelled as he clutched her arm and forged ahead while Justin followed. Thousands of people had been packed into the place. Minors were attending the concert who shouldn't have been swilling from a bottle of vodka tonight were present.
A couple of girls were making out just inside the venue, mouths all over each other. They were both slender and beyond gorgeous, dressed in tiny, sparkly dresses that barely hit their thighs. More people milled about drinking, dancing, and singing along.
The sluggish beat of the wild rock music moved through her.
The stage was lit with multi-colored spotlights as they shined up into the ceiling and the crowd. The backdrop with their tour insignia and their latest album cover looked awesome as Mild Savagery's name was projected on the wall behind the stage.
Alexander stood behind the microphone as the band's vocalist.
He fit in with the beautiful people just fine. He was one of them. Alexander's blond hair had been tied back in a little ponytail with strands falling around his face. He wore a grey T-shirt molded to his thick shoulders and faded blue jeans covered his long legs. His black army-style boots were crossed at the ankles.
He truly belonged in this scene along with the other members. Cathryn didn't.
The music was insanely loud.
Mild Savagery was playing instruments in wild outfits. They jumped around, throwing souvenirs in the crowd as pyrotechnics blazed at the front of the stage. Girls near the stage flashed their boobies to the band members and Cathryn palmed her face to these nasty high school girls.
People were drinking and headbanging to the beat of the music. Fans jumped and screamed as they wave light sticks in the air. Some people were holding up their cell phones to record the show.
"Edward, I need to go to the front," Cathryn shouted in Edward's ears to be heard. She was stuck behind a tall person and obstructed by people holding up their phones to record the entire concert. It had annoyed the fuck out of her because she wasn't able to see Mild Savagery's perfection. "I want Alexander to see me."
"Go, girl!" Justin threw a celebratory punch in the air as if cheering for her decision. Cathryn just grinned as she separated from them, reaching to a point where she didn't care what her friends would think about her infatuation with Alexander.
Cathryn shouldered her way through the crowd, waving her hands in desperation just to get Alexander's attention. Making her way to the front stage being constantly elbowed and jostled with the other fans, Cathryn's feet got stepped on as she was pressed against the stage railing by a surging crowd.
She didn't give up even if she was packed shoulder-to-shoulder with the other teenagers as she felt the bass reverberate in her chest.
"ALEXANDER!" Cathryn screamed like a descending Pterodactyl crashing to the ground, not caring about what others think at the moment. She had never been great with crowds but tonight, she didn't care if she lost her voice tomorrow.
Everything seems to be in slow motion.
Their eyes met like it was the most wonderful thing. Cathryn can't contain her grin and Alexander beamed back at her, his big brown eyes warm and glowing.
Cathryn's heart stammered as she stood.
People pressed in and the flashlights blinded her.
"This next song is dedicated to the girl I met last summer," Alexander spoke into his microphone without breaking eye contact. He knew she was ogling him as her gaze darted to his face. The bastard gave her a sly, knowing smile. Wonderful. "This is a song by Taylor Swift entitled Red."
Marco did his guitar solo in the introduction as the lead guitarist and Garred played the bass guitar along with it. Jason stomped his feet to the beat of his drums. Fans applauded excitedly as yells and screams rang in Cathryn's ears. The audience sang along with the band at the top of their lungs.
"Loving you was red." Alexander sang as he jumped around, interacting with his fans on the front stage.
"Re-e-e-ed! Re-e-e-ed!" His glorious mouth twitched into a smile as if they were sharing a private joke between them. The joke being her and all she could do was stare.
It was captivating to see a guy doing what he loved especially if he was musically inclined, Cathryn mused.
One girl almost fainted while squealing when Alexander interacted with her as he crouched near the stage, holding her hand and singing to her while he flashed her angelic smile.
This beautiful teenage girl's hair was artfully messed in a way that suggested a minimum of two hours at a top-notch salon. She was beautiful and she hated her just a little.
Cathryn narrowed her eyes at her as she screamed Mild Savagery's songs at the top of her lungs. The girl shouldn't take him seriously. This situation just proved that Alexander was an incorrigible flirt, indeed.
Why did she like hin again?
Someone pinched her arm and she was about to give this person a piece of her mind the moment she turned around but it was just Edward and Justin. "We thought we lost you when you rushed forward to the stage."
Justin grinned as he placed his hand around her waist. "Stick to us or you will walk in your heels from Hard Rock Hotel back to our apartment."
