Chapter 32 - Mild Savagery

"How many times have I told you that I didn't pick this theatre so that I could see her?" Alexander repeatedly told Garred, who had unsympathetically pointed about ten times that he was lovesick. "Hmm, I'm not sure about what you're saying."

Before he could refute my statement, Alexander shoved a burrito in his mouth while he was driving.

He mumbled things Alexander didn't understand and the food he was chewing kept flying out of his mouth. Alexander punched him playfully on the side of his stomach.

"Just shut up and drive faster." Alexander sighed heavily. "Maybe Blake and London and the others are already there waiting for us and the instrument."

They aren't patient types. Like him.

"Girl was hot so Lexy couldn't forget about The One That Got Away."

Alexander glanced over at the passenger seat, surprised that Marco still remembered about that redhead who ditched him last summer.

Marco had a hard time remembering the girls he had fucked, how much more if they were talking about the girl he didn't get involved with?

Marco proceeded to sing that Katy Perry song and Garred sang along with it. Alexander covered his ears and sang a song that said, 'I Don't Care, I Love It!' from the top of his lungs.

Of course, Alexander had mentioned then at the meeting with the band members last week that it was Blake who wanted to see that redhead by the name of Cat.

Blake said he wanted to discuss something important, like as in, life-and-death situation. Alexander pressed him for more information but that motherfucker didn't reveal anything.

Too bad, they couldn't contact her since Alexander didn't get her number. No guy in their right mind would ask a girl's number after she humiliated and slapped him in front of a crowd.

Anyway, the art students, especially the girls, we knew at Xavier School of Arts didn't have her number since according to them, she was a snobbish recluse/introvert who didn't have any friends.

Alexander also wanted to know what Red was doing after that fateful encounter. Did she still remember him? Or thought about him and his hot body and the way he kissed her? Did she regret what she had done leaving him?

Alexander agreed that he was curious about her until now but he didn't say that out loud. That weird girl is not right in the head and she was the first one to reject her. Maybe, she will notice him again if she realized how famous he was at the moment.

It was the principle of the matter.

Alexander just hated losing.

"So do we start Red's Hunt before or after the Benefit Concert?"

"It's better if we find her after the concert," Alexander said, unconsciously smiling to himself. Perhaps if she saw him perform on stage, she will change her mind and will think twice before insulting him.

Marco glanced over the mirror and studied him carefully. "Planning something fun?"

Somehow, Marco was the one guy who always seemed to know when he was hiding something. The two of them had joined the band almost four years ago, with big dreams of making it in the music industry.

"What makes you think I'm planning something?" Alexander asked innocently.

"The last time you made that face was two months ago when we performed at California and threw fresh eggs at London's head after he blew his birthday candles on the cake given by the fans."

Alexander laughed. That was fun. "Good times. I'm not going to raise hell at our sister school, you know."

"Hmmm. I wonder about that."

Marco turned his eyes back to the road as he drove the car faster and Alexander approved. He learned a long time ago that it was the only way to avoid being followed by the paparazzi.

Marco skilfully sped his black Aston Martin Vanquish to the off-ramp that would lead to the Xavier School of Arts parking lot.
