In that main patrol office on the HDSC base, Dimitri and Lawrence were asking for the CO explanation. All of them were wearing night-vision goggles since the whole perimeter on that base was dark.
Dimitri was pissed off when he was called by his underlings for unnecessary things. 'Sure as hell that officer will get something in return for a calling a general,' Lawrence looked pitifully at the Colonel that was calling for him.
"I've heard it multiple times Colonel. You know the S.O.P right? Colonel," Dimitri said to the Colonel.
"Sir, this refuge is different from the ordinary refuge that we usually see. Look, sir," Lawrence didn't get what that colonel tried to tell. All he could see was a regular refugee that was using a dirty rag as a hood and clothes. It was a usual view on Libya. There was no reason for the colonel to call a general for the situation.
While Dimitri was arguing with the colonel, Lawrence took the initiative to approach that refuge, "Move away Privates!"
The soldiers that were guarding the refuge moved away as Lawrence approached that refuge. She crouched down to talk to that unknown refuge that suddenly appeared.
"Hi, who are you, sweet little girl?" Lawrence smiled, but all that girl could do was seeing a demon grandpa with four eyes. The girl became more scared of Dimitri's shouts. "Private, bring her to the medical quarter," he told the soldiers to help her stand.
The soldiers obliged and carried the girl on their backs. Lawrence followed them from behind as he tried calming the girl who was crying. Meanwhile, Dimitri was busy smoking that Colonel for his disobedience.
The soldiers arrived with that refuge in the medical quarter. The medical quarter was very dark due to the sudden blackout on that base. There were seven doctors that were working there.
"I told you, the painkiller..., Sir, I beg your apologize," The doctor didn't realize that his general decided to visit him.
"That's ok, Captain. By the way, there's a refugee for you," Lawrence said as the privates laid down that refugee on a bed. The doctor walked to that bed and Lawrence opened the hood of that refugee.
"What the heck?" Lawrence observed that refugee.
"This ain't accessories," that doctor observed the furry ears that were located on top of that refugee's head. That refugee wasn't an ordinary girl. The doctor and Lawrence looked at those privates who were finding the refugee on the perimeter.
Lawrence moved away from the bed, he walked closer to the privates, "Private, You better bet your arse that you have a good explanation for this!"
"Yes sir! On 2145 hours, we were patrolling on Perimeter Alpha. As both of us walked, we found this refugee sir," The private explained.
"No, I mean, those ears, THE EARS PRIVATE! DID YOU GLUED THE EARS ON THAT LITTLE GIRL?" Lawrence asked that wolf ear couldn't be explained unless there was a good explanation.
"No, sir, those ears were there when we found her," One of the privates said.
"Good, you've done the right thing. Now dismissed!" The privates left that medical quarter. Lawrence sighed. Never in his life, he thought that he would see a real demi-human.
The doctor had finished examining that demi-human, "Sir, I believe we should tell General Anderson about this."
"Agree," the doctor wrote a medical report for the head of the whole medical staff on Libya. The doctor wrote the report with the help of his own night vision goggles. The doctor wrote that documents and gave the report to another doctor.
The refugee tried to talk, maybe she was thirsty, Lawrence grabbed a glass of water and gave it to that refugee. The refugee drank that glass of water, "Thank you, sir."
"What's your name, little girl?" Lawrence asked that little girl. The little girl nodded.
"Call me Lise," that wolf girl said.
"Oh, who are you running from?" Lawrence asked.
"I was running from my owner sir, they followed me all the way, but your guys killed them, sir," Lise said.
"I see, Libya National Army? But I can't say that though, maybe just a random Arabic," Lawrence said.
"What's Libya?"
"Here is Libya."
"I don't know where Libya is. All I know is Brigantine Empire," Lise said.
"Brigantine Empire? What kind of country is that?" Lawrence asked that girl.
"Brigantine empire sir, the biggest empire in our history sir," Lise said.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but I will ask more questions later. For now, can you walk?" Lawrence asked.
"I guess," the girl stood up from that hospital bed. Lawrence helped her to stand and walked that girl to the main armory, not the one in the command center.
Both of them entered a Humvee that was parked in front of the armory and went for the armory.
The armory was located on the Southside of that air force base, near the garage for the armored vehicles. The armored vehicles were parked neatly on the motorway of the front of the armory. Everyone that was guarding the armory was wearing NVG on their helmets since it was very dark.
Lawrence and Lise entered the armory and they were greeted by the armory man there, "Evening, sir, how may I help you? And who is this sir?"
"It's a refugee Specialist, now, can you help her with the usual thing?"
"Yes, sir, of course, but who're her parents and where are they?" The armory man said.
"I'm afraid that she's an orphan, I will just fill it using my name for the time being, Specialist," Lawrence was given three documents to fill by that armory man. It was the form that needed to be filled by anyone who requested something for personnel outside of HDSC.
Lawrence grabbed his pen and wrote the necessary things, "What's your name? Little girl."
"My name is Lise."
"Just Lise?"
"Just Lise."
"Where were you born?"
"Hmm, I don't know to be honest."
"Hmm, sex? Female. Race? Others. Age?"
"Ten."
"Hmm, ok, ten. Well, let the Specialist take care of you, Lise. I will wait here," Lawrence walked her to that Female Specialist that was in the armory. She took Lise to the room inside of the armory to change her clothes.
Lawrence waited in the darkness. He looked around the armory, it looked like that the combat engineers hadn't fixed the electrical grid of the base yet. The specialist came back with a pair of clothes that were for Lise.
"This is the smallest that we have, General," That armory man gave it to him and Lawrence thanked her.
Both of them walked to the outside of the armory where Dimitri was waiting. He waited for Lawrence to show up with the refugee. "I'm done with that Colonel, but he insisted that I should see the refugee. What's so special about it?"
Lawrence opened the hood of that refugee and showed those wolf ears to Dimitri. "Holy shit, are we being transported into some kind of another world?"
"Maybe. Where's your wife?" Lawrence asked.
"As usual, at our temporary housing. Why do you ask?"
"Can you take care of her? I need to check on the electrical grid of this base. This blackout is killing me," Lawrence said as he gave Lise to Dimitri.
"Now, please be nice to uncle Dimitri here," Lawrence smiled as Lise held Dimitri's hand shyly. Both of them walked away from Lawrence. Lawrence wanted to ask the head of engineers on that base.

12th September 2025, 2230 Hours. Libya. Africa Command Center of the Halifax Security and Defense Contractor. Main Power Station.
Dozens of engineers were at the power station, they were fixing the generators to make the base online again. Some of them tried to reconnect the battery of the power station to the main grid of the AFB.
"So, General Beeren, what seems to be the problem?" Lawrence asked.
"The generators need to be restarted, sir. They only need to be restarted, that's all," Sarah said.
"We can't stay in the dark for too long. The US army could be here at any minute," Lawrence said.
"All ready ma'am!" The commanding officer said.
"Fire it up!"
The combat engineer flipped one switch on the generator after he replaced some of the components on that generator. The other engineers did the same thing and the lights on the base went on again.
"Finally," Lawrence flipped his Night vision goggles as the lights on the base went back on, "General, follow me."
"Yes, sir," Lawrence and Sarah entered the Humvee and Lawrence drove back to the command center. They needed to know what their situation was and their odds of surviving. All they knew was that the US army attacked them with nukes, but supernatural phenomenons happened to them instead.
