Chapter 5 - A New World: Part 5

13th September 2025, 0250 Hours. Libya. 17th Armor Division, 12th Armor Brigade, 6th Armor Battalion, 5th Tank Company "Ganesha", Captain Morgan Stanley.

On the darkness of the desert, more than twelve tanks and twenty armored vehicles were driven to the north direction of the base. Their job was to clean up all of the remaining ruins of the US base. They expected a huge resistance since it could be that the troops were hiding on a bunker during that bombing.

Captain Stanley was commanding his tank company with the other 3 companies. They were attacking from the north side of the encampment. They were attacking the base with three other battalions. His tank company callsign was Ganesha. Since he was the commander, his callsign in Ganesha 1.

After they arrived at the safe zone to fire their tank's cannon. The loader of his tank immediately loaded an Armor-Piercing-Discarding-Sabot round at the 120mm cannon of the Abrams. They saw rectangular things between the smoke that the air units left for them.

Ganesha 1: "Contact, 3 O'clock. A tank!"

All of the tanks under Captain Stanley's command immediately fired their 120mm cannon at the tank. Dozens of APFSDS were fired at the square structure. The round didn't create any explosive, the box that was thought to be a tank just flew away.

"Captain, sir, what the heck just happened?" The gunner of the tank asked Stanley.

"No idea, Sergeant. Stay Vigilant, search for more targets," Stanley didn't understand why there wasn't any tank in his view. He thought that the united states had invented a new stealth camouflage for their Abrams tank so they could go invisible and ambush them.

Ganesha 2: "I have eyes on another tank. It's located in the direction of 030°. Be advised."

The loader of the tank loaded another APFSDS at the 120mm cannon and the gunner fired the cannon at the direction of that tank. It wasn't a tank, instead of being destroyed, the structure that was thought to be a tank crumbled to the ground like a building.

'What the heck?'

"Havoc HQ, this is Ganesha 1. Interrogative, where is the US tank?" Stanley asked the Battalion HQ.

"Ganesha 1. There are no tanks, I say again, there's no tank. Out."

"Affirmative. Ganesha 1 out," Stanley shut down the communication with the Battalion HQ and he gave another order to his troops. He wanted everyone to use the multipurpose round to kill the enemies. It was due to the fact he hadn't seen any tank.

In a unit, there must be one single person that is stupid enough to disobey an order from a superior officer. One of them got out of the M1 Abrams and walked to the middle of the kill zone.

Ganesha 1: "To Ganesha company, who is the person that's walking to the kill zone?"

Ganesha 7: "Sir, stop engagement. This isn't the US."

The soldier that got out of his tank immediately waved a flag on top of his head. It was the hostile's flag, but it wasn't the United States flag. It was another flag. It was a red flag with an eagle symbol in the middle of it.

Ganesha 7: "Stop engagement. This is not the US. I'm waving the red flag."

Ganesha 1: "Ganesha 7, what the f are you doing? Get back to your tank before you ended up being killed."

That person that carried the flag on his hands immediately ran back to his own tank. He tried dodging the heavy small arms fire and he entered the tank again. The tanks that were stopped because of his actions started firing their cannons blindly at the encampment.

They watched out for blue-on-blue accidents since they used the same tank as the Americans, M1 Abrams. They continued firing blindly at the encampment because they couldn't identify between what's the real tank and what's the fake tank, but the truth was, there wasn't any tank there.

"Havoc HQ to all units. Stop your engagement, this is an order from the command center."

All of the tanks in that region immediately stopped shooting at the encampment. Some of them started questioning the order of their commanding officer, but they were too scared to do that. Stanley himself also questioned the motivation behind that order.

"Havoc HQ, Interrogative, what's going on? Stanley asked that Battalion commander.

"Ganesha 1. We have the order not to engage or waste any ammo on the Adversary of the so-called Brigantine Empire," That battalion commander answered.

"Affirmative, but if I spot another hostile, I will give my company an order to continue engaging. Is it ok, Havoc HQ?" Stanley asked the battalion commander.

"Of course, I advise one of the tank crews to get out of their tank. They need to see what's going on," Havoc HQ said.

"Acknowledged."

Stanley cut the communication with the Battalion HQ. He immediately asked his tankers on the HQ's order. He asked one of them to volunteer to accompany him to get out of the tank.

"Me, sir," the loader said. Stanley agreed with him and both of them got out of their tank. They immediately got shined by the lights from the tanks that were directed at the middle of the encampment.

They walked away from their tank and started walking on the remnants of Brigantine's encampment. All they could see was charred bodies from the airstrikes.

"Weird," Stanley looked at one of the charred bodies. He observed it thoroughly and it didn't resemble any US soldier or any modern soldier at all. They were wielding a sword and using plate armor as their armor.

"Agree sir," The loader said as he was also inspecting a body. He even grabbed one of the charred swords from that charred bodies.

"Take your war trophy later Corporal," Stanley said as they continued walking to the middle of that encampment.

The more they walked, the more that they noticed that they weren't fighting the United States nor any modern military. It was very ancient in their standard.

A guard tower that was made of wood, a tent that was made from animal hide, soldiers that were wearing leather armor, and the fact that they used sword just added more fact that they weren't fighting the US.

"Sir, what's this?" The loader pointed one of the soldiers that were wearing a helmet with a lot of furs on top of it. At that point, Stanley and his loader hadn't realized that it was a Centurion.

"Hmm, I don't know. C-E-N-T-U-R-I-O-N. What's a centurion?" Stanley asked that loader.

"No idea sir, probably another gimmick. I think the Intel team will use this," The loader said and they walked closer to the middle of the encampment where the other tank company commanders were waiting. They were there to search the information about the Brigantine empire although they didn't have any experience with intelligence gathering.

The tank commanders were gathering in the middle while their escorts were waiting far from them since it was a confidential talk. Stanley's loader walked away from that gathering and Stanley entered that gathering.

"What we should do?" Stanley casually asked the other captains.

"Hmm, take pictures and be done with it?"

"Good idea. Anyone has a DSLR camera?" Stanley asked, but the other tank commanders didn't bring any DSLR camera including him. Instead, one of the tank commanders grabbed their own phone and started taking pictures of that encampment

Stanley also grabbed his smartphone and started taking the pictures on that encampment. They noticed that there wasn't even a single assault rifle on that encampment. It made them wonder whether they were dreaming or was too stupid to realize that they were drugged by the US. They didn't want to acknowledge the truth about them being shifted to another world.

"Captain, are we isekaied?"

"I don't know, but I think so," Lawrence continued taking the photographs of that encampment. They walked and walked until every single inch of that encampment was photographed by the troops.

The photographs were sent to the command center. Their next order was quite different. They were told to make a temporary forward operations base while half of the team return to the base. It was for the sake of security around the main base.

"Captain, are we going to stay here?" The corporal asked Stanley.

"I'm afraid, Yes, we are going to stay here. C'mon, as usual, let just sleep on the ground and make sure that nobody stupid enough to sound the horn of the tank," Stanley walked away from the middle of that encampment and retired to his tank. He made the announcement that the Ganesha company would stay at the encampment and establish a temporary FOB.

"Sir, where are we going to sleep?"

"As usual, under the stars, outside of the tank, c'mon, let's sleep. We need a rest for tomorrow since we're going to build multiple structures at once."
