"So, Fred. What's milady's name?" Keagan whispered as he kept an eye on the guard.
"What's that got to do with you?" Fred asked as he stared at the front door.
"Well, if I ever meet her soon, how should I address her then? Sister-in-law? I don't know about you, but I think that name will freak her out."
"You-Fine. Her name's Mia."
"Gotcha, and I spy with my little eyes, a distracted guard!" Keagan smiled evilly.
Keagan jumped out of my hiding place with my taser in hand. Casually, Keagan walked up to the man wearing a suit and tased him from behind.
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," Keagan said to the man as he fell onto the ground.
"Wait, K!"
Keagan turned around and caught a mask.
"You almost gave away your identity!"
"Oop!" Keagan exclaimed as he put on his mask. "Thanks, Fred! What will I do without you?"
"You'll get caught and rot in a cold prison."
The both of them walked into the building.
"Ooh, I can hear those valuables calling out for me!" Keagan whispered.
.
.
.
"Calling once-"
"¡HOLA MI FAMILIA!" Keagan yelled.
"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! K IS HERE!!" A person shouted.
And that was all it took for all hell to break loose.
"Let's get this party started!"
Fred shot a bullet into the air.
Everyone crouched with their hands on their head.
"Okay, you know the drill! Give me the items or you'll be dead!" Keagan lazily said as Fred held one person in gunpoint.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" A powerful voice resonated through the air.
Keagan looked behind and saw a female, holding up a gun at him.
"Huh? I thought guns are supposed to be illegal!"
"PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR! DROP ALL YOUR WEAPONS!" The woman threatened.
"Oh, a feisty woman! Are you up for a date?" Keagan excitedly said.
"I MEANT WHAT I SAID!"
"Oh, me too! I can't believe someone could be truthful to me!"
"DON'T FORCE ME TO USE MY GUN!"
"Oh my god, why do I always find people threatening my life adorable?"
"THAT'S IT!"
Suddenly, a deafening sound filled the air.
Everyone gasped. Keagan looked down and saw his right leg bleeding.
"Wow, that was one shot alright!" Keagan weakly said.
"K!" Fred yelled. He let go of the person in his arms and ran towards Keagan. Thankfully, Fred managed to catch Keagan before he slumped to the ground.
"SCURRY! RED!" Fred yelled out.
Once again, everyone was puzzled. Including the woman.
Out of the blue, a loud rumbling of a truck could be heard.
BAM!
The truck smashed through the building. Fred hopped into the back of the truck and placed Keagan carefully.
"Hold on, Bob!" he said softly into his earpiece. Then, he jumped down and walked to the woman.
"Don't come closer! I will shoot you!" the woman said as she pulled the trigger.
Alas, she ran out of bullets!
Fred took advantage of her bewilderment and knocked her out.
.
.
.
"Why did you call me? Keagan's appointment isn't until next week!" A man stumbled into the mansion.
"He's been shot," Fred answered curtly.
Fred pulled the doctor up the stairs and into Keagan's room. The doctor gasped at the sight in front of him. Keagan was laying on his bed, half dead.
"Where did he get shot?"
"Right leg."
The doctor tore open Keagan's pants.
The bullet wound was a mess, as if he'd been hit with two different kinds of weapon at once. There was the usual dark red hole that oozed thickly, but also hundreds of different tiny wounds – like shrapnel.
"I need to remove the bullet first. Please wait outside. After the operation is over, I will call you in," the doctor said urgently.
Fred nodded and walked out the room, closing it slowly.
"Keep an eye on him, Bob," Fred instructed Bob who was outside.
Bob nodded and saluted Fred.
He walked down the stairs and headed to the basement. Where he kept the woman as hostage.
He flicked on the light switch and saw the woman laying on the floor, unconscious. Her hands and legs were tied up with a rope. Fred slightly nudged the woman, attempting to wake her up.
To his dismay, the woman had no reaction.
Fred went out of the basement and got himself a bucket of water.
SPLASH!
The woman opened her eyes.
"BASTARD, WHY DID YOU POUR WATER ON ME?"
"You should be thankful that you're still alive right now!" Fred pulled a chair in front of her and took a seat. The woman tried getting up, but she ended up falling on her knees again.
"Why did you tie me up?"
"Of course I'll tie you up! Who knows what you would do if you're free to roam," Fred crossed his arms and leaned onto the chair.
"Let me go! I didn't do anything wrong!"
"That's where you're wrong," Fred clicked his tongue. "You've just shot my friend, and that's the worst crime anyone could commit."
"Your friend is a criminal! What I did is called self-defense!"
"How was that self-defense? Tell me when did K attack you? Even when you were pointing a gun straight at him, he was still playing a fool!"
"You held a person at gunpoint! How was that not attacking?"
"Keyword; 'I '. I held a person at gunpoint. Not K. In fact, K didn't even have a gun with him. Why didn't you just shoot me?"
"Both of you are allies! What difference does it make?"
"That makes no sense! That's literally just implying that because one person in the government lives on bribery, everyone else in the government should be overthrown!Oh, how I wish that's the way the world works. That way, the word corruption would not even exist in the dictionary."
"How is that the same thing? One causes chaos and the other fights for peace!"
"But both are doing crimes! Plus, how would you know that the criminal isn't doing his part for world peace? There are people with no criminal records abusing animals and destroying trees. "
"I-" the woman stuttered.
"Where did you get the gun from?"
"It has nothing to do with you!"
"Are you a police officer?"
The woman kept quiet.
Fred pulled the woman's chin harshly and looked at her icily.
"You better hope that K is alright. Otherwise, police or not, I will make your life a living hell!" he whispered.
