Chapter 5 - Sis-in-law

"I think she's awake!" Keagan whispered as he looked at the woman lying on the couch.

"Shush, K! You don't need to be so loud!" Fred scolded Keagan softly.

"Pfft, whatever. Now that she's about to wake up, I'm gonna go. Make sure you spend this time alone with her wisely. Emphasize the keyword right there," Keagan smirked as he walked out of the guest room with his hands behind his head.

Fred merely stared at him which earned a chuckle from Keagan as he closed the door.

Keagan skipped down the stairs as he headed towards the kitchen. He waved at Bob who was playing with his phone.

"Hi, Bob! Let's indulge ourselves with some of this wine!" Keagan invited Bob excitingly. He took out two wine glasses and placed it onto the kitchen counter. Then, he proceeded to take a wine bottle out of the crate, removed the cork, and poured the wine into both of the glasses.

He took a seat in front of Bob.

"Cheers to such an uneventful day. I only got a crate of wine. I wanted to check out the interior designs of the rooms in the club. It would have been a bewitching sight," Keagan sighed as he swirled his wine glass and pointed it towards Bob.

Bob just looked at the wine glass.

"Why, Bob? Is something on your mind?" Keagan casually asked as he placed his wine glass on the countertop.

"I have a question to ask, K," Bob said truthfully.

"Shoot me with it!"

"How did none of the wine glasses break when you were fighting just now? It's kind of weird and puzzling," Bob looked at Keagan confusingly.

Keagan seemed to be stunned with the question as he stared at Bob unfazed. "Good question, how did Fred do that? I'll ask him after this. Right now, he's got his hands full with a beautiful young lady," Keagan said to himself while he took another sip from his wine glass.

Bob raised his eyebrows and shrugged. He took the wine glass with his slender fingers and studied it carefully. It is a long-stemmed delicate crystal glass. The glass was so clear, Bob could literally see his own reflection on the glass.

"So, the money you earned didn't go to waste after all," Bob smirked as he took a large gulp from the glass.

Keagan scoffed and placed his wine glass onto the countertop roughly.

"Bob, what the heck? What else do you think I'll spend my money on?"

"Calm down, K. I'm not implying anything," Bob said coolly as he took another sip from his wine glass. "I know that you've known me since I was younger, but trust me, I have changed completely!" Keagan defended himself.

"I know, K. I was beside you all the time. You went from being a law-abiding citizen to the most wanted criminal on Earth," Bob smiled innocently at Keagan as he placed his wine glass down.

"Likewise, I turned from a champion racer to your personal driver. That is, if I may add, a degrading position."

"Bob, you-... I-" Keagan tried explaining when, out of the blue, an ear-piercing scream was landed into their ears.

"AHHHHHH"

Obviously, Bob was immediately alerted. He turned and said, "Was that an intruder? I thought the security is really tight in this neighborhood? How could someone-" He grasped onto the knife's handle at his waistband.

"I doubt it," Keagan chuckled.

"I think Fred couldn't resist the temptation of the beauty on the bed. Ooh, he must be savoring the moment right now," Keagan licked his lips seductively.

"OHHH, I see! Our Fred has finally grown!" Bob chortled and lowered his guard.

Not long after, the sound of soft footsteps running down the stairs was heard. "Our sister-in-law has awoken!" Keagan exclaimed as he saw a woman appear in the living room.

"W-who are you?" the woman trembled.

"Well, darling, for starters, you can call me 'Brother-in-law'," Keagan said playfully as he winked.

"Keagan! Don't tease her!" Fred called out as he rushed down the stairs.

"Aww, you're no fun, Freddie," Keagan pouted.

Fred paid no heed to what Keagan said and walked towards the woman. "I'm sorry I startled you, miss," Fred apologized.

Bob, who was sipping his wine, started coughing violently. On the other hand, Keagan had his mouth wide open.

"Who are you and what did you do to Fred?" Bob asked loudly.

"I've never seen such a gentle side from Fred. This is overwhelming," Keagan fawned.

Fred groaned and pulled the girl as he walked out of the house.

"Tsk, Fred is shy~" Keagan whispered.

Bob laughed loudly in return.

"Enough about Fred. Where should our next adventure be?" Keagan questioned as he poured more wine into Bob's glass.

"Are you not exhausted, Keagan? Running around, scaring people, stealing items?" Bob replied.

"Not at all! I think that the thought of these adventures just makes me more energised. I have something to look forward to in this miserable life of mine," Keagan happily replied.

"Of course, you do. But don't you think you should get a break now? We've been tormenting the citizens for six months!" Bob suggested.

"There's no time to rest! I've got to make myself famous before I officially retire and leave the surface of the Earth," Keagan answered as he ruffled Bob's hair.

"Fine, whatever. There will be an auction happening in the next town. Shall we head there instead?" Bob proposed.

"Woohoo, let's go there then!"
