Finally!
The class already ended after hours of waiting. I looked around the room and found my classmates laughing and planning on where to go after school. Hmm... how about me? Where do I want to go? I'm looking at the beautiful scenery in front of me outside the window while thinking about the new adventure that is waiting for me ahead. The scenery was so beautiful and the sunset makes it more wonderful. Sunset is the indication of the end of the day but soon the night will take over along with the beautiful stars and moon making it perfect for some adventures on the road. My eyes are smiling from the thoughts in my head... And of course, there will always be someone who is ready to interrupt my alone time. The one and only Gabriel. I am now having a second thoughts about on how I lasted to be friends with him until now, knowing that he wasn't sensitive enough to know about what timing is, on what best time to interrupt and what time to leave a person alone.
"Alex what plan do you have? Are you now going to the Capital to roam around? Do you want us to go together? He asked with sparkling eyes while shaking my shoulders.
" Hey stop fooling around! Okay, okay where going in there together and I heard from the gossips around that night market in there are so lively with a lot of street foods and some stuffs to choose from. Make sure to bring your money bag because I'm going to rob you out! That was your punishment for disturbing me."I looked at him with my sinister smile while wiggling my eyebrows. And I can see the pitiful expression of my best friend like he wanted to cry but there was no tears coming out. I laughed at him internally, serves him right. Hmph! I just rolled my eyes at him and continued to look out the window.
"Why? Why? What do I do to deserve this?" He said that while looking up as if asking the God above what sins he committed to deserve such treatment. After his drama he continued, "You're so rich but you're so stingy!"
I moved my gaze from admiring the beauty to his face and said emotionless, " what? You don't want to spend a little money on me? Is that what you want? Then fine don't spend on me a single cent if you don't want to." And as expected to my best friend, he quickly responded, "Hey okay I admit defeat, I will buy all the food you want to eat and all the stuffs that you wanted to buy", he answered like a defeated dog in a fight between a cat. And I can't help but smiled at him. He really can't stand me being unhappy. As I was looking at him, my best friend is one of the people I trusted the most. The person who was always there through my ups and down. He never leave me even when he already knows my secret. He stay beside me, and through time I promised that I will protect this person. I will be right by his side when he need me. He was a real brother to me even without the same blood that connects us both. I am indeed happy and he was part of of it..
Do you have someone who will help you get up when you fall? Someone that is willing to share the burdens you're carrying? Having someone beside you or behind your back is truly a fortune because not all can have one. And I am indeed happy to have someone beside me.
Nowadays, it is truly rare to find someone who will stick with you even in times of hardships. Fortunately, I was one of those who are lucky enough to have someone to lean on. Aside from my father and my mother, my best friend Gab is the third one whom I considered as family.
He noticed me smiling that reached my eyes and that made him smile too. So he hurriedly asked while putting his arms on my shoulder up to the front of my neck, "what are you waiting for? Hurry up and come on and start our first adventure in the Capital's most famous street foods! And find some beautiful girls on the way!"
"Hey hey! Gab let go of me! Your suffocating me!" I quickly protest but he wouldn't bulge a bit and continue to dragged me out together with him to the class door then the hallway.
I look up at him and thought that this guy sure is gutsy. Oh well, just wait and soon I will prepare myself to give you a good beating at the training grounds.
After a few minutes of struggling out of his hold, I finally freed myself from him. I looked back at Gab, only to see him holding his stomach because I elbowed him to release me. Serves him right for fooling around with me. "Hey hurry up! You were so eager earlier and now you're so slow! What happened to your eagerness?" I asked him while raising one of my eyebrows as if challenging him.
"Whose fault is this?!" he was frowning his eyebrows and I can see that he was indeed in pain. I think that I may used a little bit of strength and that actions might hurt him. "I'm sorry, Gab." I apologized at him. Surveyed his pitiful state and as I was looking at him, I burst out laughing and after that he followed too. We laughed at our foolishness on the hallway all the way to the gate of school.
We are so engrossed at our own world and seems to not care about the people around us. So we failed to noticed the cold eyes that was intently looking at us. The eyes that can seem to freeze someone just from his stare...
