So close...
They looked so close and so happy being together. I can see an unbreakable bond between the two of them...
I silently followed Alexandria and Gabriel to the famous night Market in the Capital because I wanted to look around too, do I? Yes, I wanted to look around also.. oh wait, why am a giving an explanation to myself? I must be crazy, really.
After reaching our destination that is not far from our University, the place was lively and full of people with different kinds of foods and stuffs wherever you look at. Such a lively environment to enjoy and relieve some stress. I shifted my gaze from looking around to the two people ahead of me. But what my eyes sharply followed was the hand that is dragging someone from one cart to another.
Alexandria was dragging Gabriel from cart to cart to see what food they are offering and then came to stop in front of the food cart that offered grilled seafood.
"Wow! Gab look look! They have grilled squid here!" Does she love grilled squid or the squid itself? I was looking at her when Gabriel noticed me not far away from them and then called out, "Hey! You're Samuel Xi from our class, right?" He asked while walking towards me. "Yeah." I answered him and give a simple nod. Then he continued, " wanna join us roaming around? Well, we want to try some stuffs and food here. It's our first time anyway." He offered me to join them and I shifted my gaze from him to the one beside him who's still looking at the squid with sparkling eyes.
As if Gabriel noticed my gaze and followed it. Then Gabriel seems to realized that he must also get the opinion of Alexandria for having an extra person with them. So he quickly nudge her best friend saying, " Hey Alex would you mind Samuel joining us? He's alone anyway." That is when she broke her stare at the grilling squid and look at the person in front of them. " Well, I don't mind if there's an extra person." I looked at her and smiled internally. She said yes and don't reject me joining them. And that makes me happy all of a sudden.
"Okay it's settled then! I'm Gabriel and you can call me Gab and she's Alexandria but call her Alex. How about you? What should we call you? Can we call you Sam?." Gab does some introduction and I just nodded at him when Alexandria interrupted, " I prefer to call him Samuel. It's a nice name by the way." After that she shifted again her attention to the squid in front of her.
" Can I call you also Alexandria?" I asked while looking at her but she turned at me with a piercing gaze and answered, " No, my parents are the only one having that privilege." And I simply replied with an okay and leave it because I know that she has her reasons and I respect that.
Gab hurriedly broke the tension and offered me some grilled squid that I quickly accepted. Hmm I love squid too. I look at the squid in my hand and only got one stick of grilled squid, same as Gab while on the other hand Alex got 4 sticks of squid at her hands. Hmm she sure does love squid as much as I do, I thought.
"Alex! Why did you got four sticks of grilled squid at your hands? Didn't we suppose to have 2 pieces each? You are so unfair!" He whined at Alex and with a look of disbelief and I can only listen to their conversation and said nothing.
"You never emphasize that we split it equally and now, you're accusing me?" She retorted and walked ahead of us and began to eat her grilled squid happily. I smiled at her silliness. Gab and I quickly followed her and began to eat too while walking at the same time looking around.
We grilled a total of 6 sticks of squids including the ones for Samuel Xi. And me being so in love with squid, as soon as the squid is fully cooked and the vendor put it in to the plate, I quickly got a total of four sticks all for myself. And as I was being considerate to the two of them, I leave them each a stick of grilled squid. I smiled wickedly at my own action. After settling the bill of the grilled squid, Gab turned around and look at the grilled squid at the side and found only two sticks of grilled squid. His brown eyes quickly widened at the scene in front of his eyes and quickly said, " where did the grilled squid go?" He turned around his head and saw that the missing sticks of grilled squid are within my hands.
"Alex! Why did you got four sticks of grilled squid at your hands? Didn't we suppose to have two pieces each? You are so unfair!" He whined at me and pitifully looked at the grilled squids at my hands. I lazily answered at him, "you never emphasize that we should split it equally and now, you're accusing me?. After that I just smiled at him widely and walk ahead of them. Leaving them both speechless without a doubt. I started walking while enjoying my grilled squid happily.
After a few minutes I noticed them walking behind me. So I quickly turned around at them. " Hey! Why are you too so slow? How can we try a lot of great food if you don't hurry?" I complained at them being slow and they both looked at each other then began walking and stand beside me. Gab easily complained back, "we're just too upset that someone isn't fair" and I answered him, "what? You said earlier that I could eat as many as I want? Are you going back on your words now? My best friend, Gabriel?" I was looking at him intently like looking right at his soul...
