Chapter 22 - A Powerful Soul Visits a Lower Realm Pt. 1

Deja opened his eyes and looked around, surprised to not be dead after that attack. He patted down his body, making sure he was all in one piece. His right hand passed trough where is left arm used to be, and he panicked, before realizing that that had been missing for months now, and he calmed back down. He looked around, and realized that he was in the middle of an open field, with no civilization or ocean in sight.

"What the hell? Where am I?"

[The Lower Realms.]

"How- Why?"

[That being earlier teleported you here.]

"Alright then, create a skill to teleport me back."

[Error. Not enough mana in the air to activate skill: {Skill Creation}]

"Just use mine!!"

[Inaccessible]

"You just want me to get out of here on my own, don't you?"

[...]

"Fine."

Deja trudged aimlessly through the pasture, no, grassland would be a better word for what he was seeing. What he originally thought was a small plot, ended up stretching kilometers in ever direction. When he thought he saw a town, it was a town of goblins, not humans. Deja sighed, and turned around, trudging once again through the grassy plains.

Deciding to train his usage of his skills as he ran, he activated {God-Speed Footing} and took off, breaking the sound barriers, and creating voids of space behind him with every other step, launching him forward even faster. The [System] started counting his speed.

[800 km/s, 900 km/ps, 1 Mm/s, 7 Mm/s, 70 Mm/ps. Fast]

'Wow. That's.... Insane."

Deja was hitting near lightspeed, blazing across the plains, leaving next to nothing in his wake. However, due to his insane speed, his sight was next to nothing, narrowing to a tunnel in front of him. Time seemed to slow, and Deja noticed a settlement ahead. He slowed to a stop 2 km away from the city walls, just out of the guards field of vision. He brushed off his clothes, and walked toward the gate, fully visible in the daylight.

°°°°°°°°°°

As the guards noticed Deja, they sounded an alarm. Quickly responding to the bell, and surprising Deja, the entire cities militia ran out the gates, creating a sound similar to that of thunder. At the head of the militia was a dark tanned man wearing armor that shone like gold, but seemed much lighter, due to the way the man carried himself. The man raised a hand, signaling his men to stop. His deep voice rang across the field, seemingly amplified by his armor. "Who are you, and what is your cultivation level?"

'Cultivation...? What is this, some Wuxia novel knock off?' Deja shook his head and sighed. Looking the tan skinned man straight in his eyes, as he raised his hands in the air, as though he was surrendering.

"I am known by the name Deja, and I have no cultivation level."

The man glared at Deja with greater hostility then before. "If you have no Cultivation, then why did you come to the Unyielding Boar Sect?" As he said that, the man gestured to the boar shaped insignia on his armor and the one on the flag behind him.

Deja sighed, and muttered to himself, "I know I'm going to regret this, but~" Deja looked at the armored man with a renewed vigor. "I want to join the sect."

As Deja was lead into the city by the militia, he felt glares of animosity from the towns folk. As he looked, his [System] told Deja their stats. However, the One most different from the rest was

[Prince* Thomlin

'Demigod.... That's one of the highest right?'

[Yes.]

'Yes. That's it? Nothing extra to add?'

Deja gave up on trying to get his [System] to talk, and just let the men lead him toward a large castle. Ten slim, round towers are scattered in a seemingly random pattern, but have been build for an ideal defense and are connected by tall, solid walls made of bronze stone. Simple windows are scattered thinly across the walls in a seemingly random pattern, along with holes of various sizes for archers and artillery. A sizable gate with heavy wooden doors, a regular bridge and a moat guards the inhabitants of this island castle and it's the only way in, at least without taking down the castle walls. Huge statues of heroes and kings decorate the bridge outside, and based on peoples reactions when looking at said statues, brought up memories of glories of the past.

----🌣----

The lead guard pushed the doors open with little effort, adn deja saw the great throne room.

Slim braziers encircling each of the ten marmoreal columns light up the lower levels of the throne hall and their light wraps the hall in a warm radiance. The glass of the windows in the bowed ceiling dance in the flickering light while statuettes look down upon the marble floor of this august hall. A coral rug ran from the throne down the center and loops back from both left and right while swallow tail banners with adorned sides draped from the walls. Between each banner , a few of them were lit and in turn illuminated the portraits of heroes and legends below them. Huge, stained glass windows that depicted late royalty are contoured by draperies colored the same coral as the banners. The curtains had been adorned with emblazoned edges and fancy tassels. A regal throne of mahogany sat beneath two overlooking statues of legendary beasts and was adjoined by two large, but far less ornate seats for the royal highness' direct family. The throne was covered in textured and layered carvings and fixed on each of the rather slim feet is a lavish divine symbol. The soft pillows are a light coral and these too have been adorned with embellished tracery. Those waiting to see their royal highness waited on the many impressively carved teak benches, all of which are facing the throne in a U-shape. Those of higher standing can instead take seat in the exuberant balconies facing the throne.

A man sat on the throne, staring at Deja with a frown on his face, causing many of the royal advisors' faces to light up with terror. The man raised his hand, and all knelt. Except for Deja, who decided to stay standing, while his [System] scolded him for lack of better judgement. The man, eased his stare at Deja, and with a deep voice full of purpose and a domineering aura, let out the words, "Why art thou here?"
