Chapter 25 - A Powerful Soul Meets Another Powerful Soul Pt.2

Trudging through the dimly lit forest, Alex's group, plus Deja, wandered until they ended up in a large clearing, nearing seven kilometers in size. Alex slowed his group to a stop, and pointed over to a boulder. "Here. Anna, Lucas, Freya. Take a seat over there, and just watch." The other three all jumped up onto the rock, seemingly happy to watch the fight that was to occur. The one Alex referred to as Lucas called out to him. "Beat him up, Master!" Alex grinned at this, pulling up his sleeves and calling out to those behind him. "Just watch, this guy won't even last two-"

"You talk too much." Deja had used {God-Speed Footing} to almost instantly arrive next to Alex. Within the span of a couple seconds, the latter had already been sent flying, crashing into the cliff nearby. Blood dribbled out of Alex's mouth. The battle field was silent. Not a word, not a breath. A laughter roared, breaking the deafening silence that hung like a thick fog. Alex stood up, laughing. HE wiped his mouth, smearing the blood across his chin and his clothing. "Alright, I'll admit it. You're better than I pegged you for, Deja! Still not a match for me, however."

Once again, Deja seemed to teleport right next to Alex, but this time, Alex was ready. Using all his strength, he threw a punch, right at Deja's face. However, The fist tased right through Deja, hitting the tree behind him and blasting a massive hole, with the following airwave traveling another two or three kilometers, ending just before it hit the boulder with his group. Alex let out a low growl, angry at himself for almost harming his group, and angry at this other man, for dodging everything. "ARGH! Just stop moving!" Hearing this, Deja decided 'Eh, what's the harm' and stood still, beckoning a sign, that no matter what universe or world you're in, is always recognized. With a quick flick of his fingers, Deja provoked Alex. 'Come on,' he seemed to be saying. 'If you don't go all out, this'll be boring.' Alex's eyes filled with rage, seeming to darken as his aura exploded from his body, cracking the ground for kilometers around. Seething, Alex's once present face had a look of madness and rage, one that would be dangerous to stay near. His group let out a great gasp. Based on what Deja saw, it seemed they had never seen him this riled up before. Alex started running, sprinting at his full speed, almost moving so fast that Deja couldn't track his movements. Almost.

Alex appeared behind Deja, and had an insufferable smirk on his face. Alex punched, slamming his fist right into Deja's face. Following that hit, Alex held out his hand, and a pure white blade materialized in his hand, and he swung it full force at Deja's neck. A cloud of dust erupted, purely from the force behind both the punch and the sword swing. As the dust partially cleared, Alex seemingly stood triumphant. However, as the dust cleared more, one could begin to see a human outline, and a vibrant blade held in the mans hands. Alex reeled back. "Im-Impossible! No one can stand up to that attack!" Deja's smile chilled Alex to the bone. "How! No one in this part of the world can stand up against me!? How can you, someone who's cultivation is nonexistent, do so?" Deja vaporized the sword in his hand, steeping slowly toward Alex. "Simple reason really."

"What? What's the goddamned reason?!" Alex roared.

Deja's smile gotten even wider, and an ever increasing pressure was felt upon everyone in his view. "I'm. Just. Like. You." Alex's eyes widened as he stumbled backwards. "Wh-What do you mean?!"

"Oh, many things," Deja said, never taking his eyes off of Alex. "You know, The apex, Able to create abilities," Deja paused for a moment, contemplating his next few words. "A fellow reincarnator. The whole shebang." Alex gaped at Deja. "Rein-REINCARNATOR?!?"

As Deja was trudging through the forest behind the rest of Alex's group, a notification popped up.

Deja let out a low whistle. The group stopped and looked back at him, confused. He scratched the back of his head and gave a cheeky smile. "It's nothing, don't worry about it."

"Wh-What!?!"

Deja leaned over Alex, the chilling grin still etched on his face. "You heard me. Do I need to spell it out for you? Re. In. Carn. Ator." Alex lay on the ground in stupor. His group, who was stunned he had lost first, started to get angry. "Get away from him!!" "Yeah, leave master alone!" "Wh-What Lucas said!"

Deja held up his hands. "Whoa Whoa Whoa! Take it easy. I just wanted to show him that arrogance gets you no where. If you want me to, I'll leave. It'll take me forever to figure out how to get home though," Deja scratched the back of his head. "Ughh. What a predicament. I'm going to head out," he turned back to the group. "Whether you come with me or not, makes no difference, but be warned. If any one of you, and I mean any one, comes to attack me after this, I won't hesitate to kill them. Got it?" With that last statement, Deja released the full force of his aura, supplementing killing experience with pure mana. The pressure that was released was something never before felt in this realm, forcing all but Deja, Alex and the other sky grade experts and above across the realm down on their knees. With a cough, Alex held out his hand to Deja. "I think we started out on the wrong foot," Alex said, smiling at Deja. "I'm Alex King, and I'd be happy to join someone such as you on your travels. Deja hung his head, a half-hearted smile plastered on his face. He lifted his head to face Alex, eye to eye, and took his hand. "To a temporary truce?" Alex nodded, and Deja breathed a sigh of relief. Just when Deja thought the fight was over...

"There's the one who released that aura!"

"Get him!"

Deja looked up, only to see a good two hundred men and women floating high in the sky, their auras releasing a high amount of Qi, and an energy Deja and Alex recognized as mana. All of them released a wave of Qi at the five of them. Both Alex and Deja groaned while staring at the sky, and said, as if they shared a singular mind,

"Shit."

"Shit."

And then the waves hit.
