(Y/n) slid back down into her laying down position. "Sorry about that, I didn't mean to leave for that long. How're you feeling Midoriya?"
"I- I don't really kn-know. I feel pent up but I always cry. Why am I such a cry baby." He started to tear up again and this time (y/n) went over to him.
It wasn't normal, as far as she knew, for her quirk to make people sad. Maybe this boy had more struggles than he had shared. She sat close to him, their thighs touching and (y/n) held his hand. She used her other hand to enclose his whole hand with hers.
"Want to tell me why you feel like you're pent up? I think you just need someone to listen to you. I would be happy to help you." (Y/n) spoke softly so she wouldn't rile up the boy into a frenzy.
Midoriya took his hand out of hers, (y/n) was scared that she has crossed a line. It was so hard to know when you've never been around many people. But he didn't leave like (y/n) thought he would, instead he slowly slid down into her lap and pushed his head into her shirt.
Holy fuck did (y/n) feel weird right now. Not bad weird but weird in a way that she never experienced this before. What should she do? She took the first step to make both of them more comfortable by sitting up with her legs at a 30-degree angle. She thought about what she would want to be done to her... she experimented on what she was able to do by first smoothing his hair down and then aiming for his scalp. She gently scratched at his head with her left hand that would go to the nape of his neck then back up. Her right hand brushed the slightly damp hair out of eyes and gently untangled the knots he had.
(Y/n) pushed her glasses to the top of her head. She turned her eyes back to gold and had Midoriya look into her eyes to cancel her quirk. Killing two birds with one stone, she wiped his tears off of his cheeks.
"M-my problems probably s-sound ridiculous to you... s-sorry! That c-came out wrong." Midoriya tried to lift his head from (y/n)'s lap but she let out a gasp that scared Midoriya into freezing completely in his spot.
"You can't move yet! I'm not done, I almost have the knots out, you'll ruin my process. Lay back down Midoriya?" Her eyes flashed back down to the blushing teen, Midoriya didn't know what that meant but from the way she was smiling, he could tell that it was a good thing.
Blushing as hard as his face could, he sank back down on her lap. He hid his face in the soft material of her regular yoga sweater. "Good, now talk to me. I want to hear every little thing that's bothering you, no matter how small." This time, (y/n) used both of her hands to act like a hairbrush but also giving the hair feather-light touches not wanting to hurt him in any way. "Now, Midoriya, whenever you want to talk feel free to. Or we can just sit here. Actually, this might be the most I've been relaxed in years..." (y/n) sighed as she felt the tension in her shoulders diminish and finally fully relax.
"Y-yeah. I feel like t-that t-too. Your quirk is a-amazing." There was a pause, it wasn't uncomfortable, more like the two were waiting. For what? It was complicated and neither one of them knew.
"You know how my eyes are gold?" (Y/n) asks her hands brushing over his forehead gently rubbing his head and pushing his hair back.
"Yeah? W-what about it?" Midoriya's hands tightened around the other trying to calm his nerves.
"I don't want you to get upset, okay?" She played with his hair in a comforting way that felt like home. Like the way his mother used to do it when he was a child. He just nodded not wanting to move his head to talk. "When my eyes are anything but gold, my quirk is activated. Gold is my color, as I like to think about it, to shut off the ever controlling quirk. I don't want you to think I'm pressuring you into doing anything that you don't want.... oh my! That sounds bad! I'm sorry! I just meant like talking! And like me touching you- wow that's twice in a row... I'm going to stop talking now."
"I d-didn't notice your e-eyes change colors."
"Yeah... that happens to make people more likely to become under my quirk again." (Y/n) shut her eyes and tried to calm her heart from the embarrassment of her speech from before. Midoriya could hear the loud thumps and the fast pace of her heart racing. It felt nice to him to finally be the one who flustered someone other than the other way around. He only smiled as the rubbing of her hands continued to brush over his forehead.
It was late, the sun had set completely. The only things that gave them light were the moon and street lamps. (Y/n) looked around to see how much light the street lights have. There was still the creepy guy who was sitting at a table that overlooked the beach. She could tell he was starring but he would move his head away from her and then back when he thought she wasn't looking.
"Hey, Midoriya?" (Y/n) kept her voice neural and turned her head back to the green-haired boy in her lap.
"Y-yeah?" He turned his head up when he felt (y/n)'s hands stop messing around with his hair.
"I need to you playfully grab my glasses off my head. Don't look confused, just smile, and grab my glasses." (Y/n) tried to talk smoothly to keep Midoriya calm.
"O-okay." Midoriya did as (y/n) asked and grabbed the glasses then playfully ruffled her already messed up hair. He hid behind (y/n) again. He handed the reflective glasses to (y/n) who set them on top of his head. She made it look like she was just playing with his face but in reality, she had positioned his face in a way she could see the suspicious man clearly without having to turn around.
"Okay, I'm going to take your picture. Don't move your head, just smile." (Y/n) rubbed his shoulder to ease the nerves that he clearly showed.
Not wanting to move an inch, he only gave a hearty smile. (Y/n) took out her phone and took three different angles of the man in the glasses. (Y/n) turned her phone around to show him what she was worried about. "Do you see that guy? He's been staring at us since we started talking..."
Midoriya knew it was All Might in the regular form- he couldn't openly say that. Also, his training with All Might was over for 40 minutes before he started talking to (y/n), why was he still around?
"O-oh! Yeah, I a-actually know him..." Midoriya looked over to Toshinori and then dropped his head into his hands. How was he even going to get out of this?
"Huh? Do you know why he's been watching us? Is he like a stalker of yous!" (Y/n) worried about their safety as her mind went to a dark place.
"N-no! Nothing like t-that! He uhh is my uncle! He gave me a ride here and I didn't think I would stay so long here s-so I asked him to wait?" (Y/n) seemed to believe it, a relived exhale slowly falling from her mouth.
"Do you need to leave now? No hard feelings if you do!" (Y/n) leaned back on her hands so Midoriya could sit up.
"No!" Midoriya yelled a bit, it surprised (y/n) to hear his panic in the idea of leaving. "I-I mean! I don't have to leave if y-you want to stay l-longer." Midoriya fully sat up and looked away from (y/n) bashfully.
"If I'm being totally honest, which is super embarrassing, I would like to hang out a bit longer. Won't your uncle get tired of waiting?" (Y/n) didn't want the time to end but it would have to eventually.
"I can go talk to him- I'll be back!" He got up from the yoga mat and started to run to the blonde man who pretended to look innocent.
"He and Midoriya don't look alike at all... maybe it's from whoever's side that Midoriya doesn't look like..." (y/n) mumbled out in the direction of the loud ocean.
