Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

It took me days before I had the courage to send her a message.

'Hi~

Do you have time this afternoon?'

---no reply---

'Please, I really wanna talk to you…'

---no reply---

I became more desperate. I've never felt so anxious in my life. And every time I remember the moments I've wasted because of my stupid pride, I can't help beating myself up.

I was excited every time my phone beeped and every time, I was disappointed.

As I nearly lost hope, she replied.

'Meet me at the rose garden after class…'

My heart leaped when I read the message. I even read it twice to make sure that I wasn't just hallucinating.

Waiting for my class to finish felt like an eternity. I waited in anticipation.

Finally!

I had mixed emotions when I was hastily walking to the rose garden immediately after the teacher dismissed the class. I was even rehearsing the things that I wanted to say. But, to my dismay, she wasn't alone. Peter was sitting quietly beside her when I arrived. I sat in front of them.

There was an awkward silence before Peter spoke.

"Whatever you wanna say, you can tell her now. I am not leaving," he said.

"Nope. I came to talk to HER, not you," I said as I challenged his gaze.

"I said. I am NOT leaving. Say it now or never," he replied.

"Stop! It's okay Pete. I will be fine," Amanda said. I looked at her hand rubbing Peter's shoulder to calm him down. I felt jealous.

'I'm gonna break those shoulders later!' I thought as he gave me a stern look before reluctantly walking away.

I smirked while gesturing my hand to shoo him away.

I cleared my throat before I spoke, "I just wanna ask you a question. Why did you run away that night?"

She stayed quiet for like a minute or so. Then, she answered with a soft voice, "I think you already know why."

I puckered my lips to hide my smile.

"Meaning?" I asked.

She raised her head to meet my eyes. Then, looked away. Her fingers intertwined. She looked so nervous.... and shy.

"Say it, Amanda, please! I wanna hear it from you," I urged.

She swallowed a couple of times.

"I still love you, Brad. It never faded," she uttered.

My worries were erased and my confidence was restored!

I just wished Peter was here to hear everything. I wanted to jump, but I controlled myself. I acted cool.

"Do you mean it?" I asked as I put my hands in my pocket.

She nodded shyly without looking at me.

"But... does my feeling really matters?" she uttered in a sad tone. "Alicia is back."

"Alicia belongs to my past. What happened that night was just a misunderstanding," I explained.

"But she seems to really love you. As a woman, it is easy to see and hard to deny her affection towards you," she added.

"I am done with her. It's true that I loved her--- a lot, but she's just a part of my history," I explained.

"But..."

"Do you wanna give me a chance or not?!" I asked suddenly which made her eyes grew bigger in surprise.

"A-are you asking me out?" she uttered.

"Nope. I am asking you to be MY GIRL!" I corrected it.

She looked at me suddenly with her mouth open. Her eyes were full of questions.

"Is it a yes or a yes?!" I teased.

She reluctantly nodded her head still verifying the truth in my words.

"Seems like you don't want! I---"

"I want!" Amanda abruptly answered.

"Say it."

"I want to be your girl," she said softly.

I tilted my head.

"Hmmm... sounds insincere," I teased.

"No. I mean it," she replied in a louder voice.

"Then say it loud and proud," I told her amused by her reaction trying so hard not to smile.

"I love you Bradley Anderson and I wanna be your girlfriend!" she shouted which caught other students' attention.

We heard some loud 'oooooooooooh' from them. Some even clapped their hands. But, few female students raised their eyebrows and started gossiping.

She suddenly covered her mouth when I showed my phone and she realized that I was recording everything--- plus we have witnesses.

"You can't run away from me now, Amanda!" I said with a triumphant smile.

Then, she bit her lower lip.

"Don't do that or else I'm gonna kiss you right here!" I warned. She immediately pressed her lips together. I grinned at her reaction.

We stayed in the park and chatted until dusk before I walked her to her dorm.

"See you tomorrow," I said in front of her dormitory.

"Yeah. See you," she replied.

Amanda went straight to her room and closed the door. Then she let go of her excitement and disbelief.

'Are we really a couple?' she thought while jumping and dancing crazily on her bed.

She covered her face with her pillow to muffle her scream. She was overjoyed.

Her phone beeped.

'I know you're happy and excited, but please stop shouting and jumping!'

She gasped.

'How did he know?' she said worried that Brad might be outside her door and listening to her craziness, so she checked. No one. She was relieved.

'Don't worry. I don't have any intentions to,' she replied before she took a shower. Then, she reviewed her lessons for about an hour.

'I am going to bed now. Good night!' Amanda sent.

'Good night~ Dream of me♥!'

'I'll try :)'

'Oh... don't even try stopping yourself! You will just get tired.'

'Haha~'

'Funny?!'

'Kinda~'

'Fine!'

'Okay. I will.'

---no reply---

'Hey.'

---no reply---

'Are you mad?'

---no reply---

'Okay. I'm sorry.

I will dream of you for sure!

Only you! ♥♥♥'
