Chapter 4 - The Coma Girl

With hasty footsteps, Hari walked down the corridors of the hospital. He stepped into a room where a girl was lying in a coma because of a terrible accident.

He opened the door and found Maureen, his daughter from his marriage with Arini, lying on a hospital bed with a tube as a breathing apparatus connected to his nose. A single tear came out of Hari's eyelids.

If previously his footsteps were so fast, now it seemed as if his legs didn't have the strength to stand up at all. A doctor and two nurses who were also in the room turned to Hari.

"Are you the family of this girl?" asked the doctor, who took Hari's attention away from Maureen.

"Yes, doc. I'm her father. What happened to my daughter?"

The doctor walked over to Hari and stopped right in front of him. He put one hand on Hari's shoulder and smiled kindly. Even so, the doctor could not hide his sympathy. "Your daughter was in a quite serious traffic accident. The victim of the accident was your child, and the other was an older woman."

Hari frowned, "Arini? Where is she?"

The doctor shook his head slowly, he shifted his gaze downwards while putting on a sympathetic expression. Seeing the doctor's reaction, Hari realized what had actually happened to Arini.

Now, Hari's legs really didn't have the strength to support him anymore. Hari fell to his knees on the floor with tears streaming down his lids. The doctor could not do anything, he could only calm Hari. Likewise, with the nurses who were also in the room, the two of them lowered their heads, as if paying final respects to the woman who died in the accident.

From in front of the door, a man in a high school uniform covered with dirt and several bloodstains stood speechless. He didn't say anything since earlier, all he did was stay silent and try to understand the situation that was happening.

Don't ask why the school uniform he is wearing is so messy, and also covered with dirt and some blood spots. Before he came to the hospital, that man had just finished fighting three school gangs at once.

Rizaldy Pradipta, his gaze was fixed on the pale and wounded face of the girl who was lying on the hospital bed.

"So, that person is Maureen?" guessed Aldy in his heart.

The atmosphere in the room was truly sorrowful. Aldy felt there was nothing he could do. But one thing is certain. Aldy's life will change from that very second.

***

Arini's funeral took place calmly. The sorrowful atmosphere completely enveloped the funeral procession of the woman Hari had loved.

Aldy and Hari are also in the burial ground. Both of their hands received Arini's body which had been washed and also prayed. They received Arini's body which was wrapped in a shroud with great care. With the help of several people, they lowered Arini's body to her final resting place.

As the funeral officials backfilled the land they had excavated for Arini's final resting place, tears continued to flow from Hari's eyelids. Aldy, who was standing next to Hari, could only let his father cry and was dissolved in his sadness.

Aldy has never met Arini, the ex-wife of his adoptive father. However, Aldy could feel the sadness that was felt by Hari.

Even though the people who attended Arini's funeral procession had all returned, Aldy and Hari were still standing in front of the grave on which Arini's name was written on the headstone.

Hari raised one hand and embraced Aldy's shoulder from behind, tapping Aldy's shoulder with his palm. "I'm okay now, let's go home."

Aldy only nodded once in agreement with Hari's words. Hari smiled once again at Arini's headstone, "I'll go home first, don't worry, I'll take care of Maureen."

They both left the graveyard.

Even though Aldy had never met Arini, he still felt sorry for his departure.

In the car, Hari let Aldy take the car. Even though he still doesn't have a driver's license, Aldy's ability to drive a car really falls into the skillful category.

"Dad."

The day, who had been looking out the window, turned to Aldy, who was still driving the car. "Yes?"

"What kind of person is Arini?"

Hari put a smile on his lips. A smile that was painted on reflex thanks to Aldy's question. Hari shifted his gaze forward, "Hmmm ... Arini is the kindest woman I have met in my life. Sometimes, she is so gentle. But it can turn out to be very harsh when something is not quite what it should be, especially about- things to do with discipline. "

Aldy turned the car at the intersection, still listening intently to Hari's explanation of Arini's figure.

"Arini can also be sooooo annoying. Her words are always piercing, but what is even more annoying is that all of her words are true, they can't be denied. She is the most caring woman, even about the little things that usually escape my sight. And ... "

Hari hangs his words, as Aldy stops his car as the traffic light turns red. Hari turned, as did Aldy, making them look at each other.

Hari returned his smile, a smile that felt warm to be seen for Aldy. "She is a very affectionate person. And because of that, your sister, Maureen who is now in a coma in the hospital, has a super-spoiled nature. Even though Arini is a strict person in terms of discipline, but whatever Maureen's request, she will definitely obey. In fact, Arini always prepared Maureen's needs before Maureen asked. "

Aldy nodded in understanding. He began to have an idea of what kind of younger sister he would soon have. To be more precise, a younger sister whom he had never even met before.

As the traffic light turned green again, Aldy slowly drove his car across the last intersection before arriving at the entrance to their residential area.

"How old is Maureen?" asked Aldy curiously.

"She's sixteen. Should've just entered high school right now."

Aldy just nodded as he stopped the car in front of the gate. The palm of his right hand pressed the horn to tell the house security to open the gates for them. No need to wait long for the gate to be opened by someone in a security guard's uniform. And when their car passed, Mr. Paryo, as Hari's security guard, bowed politely.

You could say, Hari, is someone very rich. He is the sole owner of the Sanjaya Group, a company engaged in construction services, and has strong connections to the government. Especially about development projects.

Aldy also parked their car in the garage. The garage was filled with luxury cars. But none of the luxury cars interest Aldy. He is only interested in a sport-motor bike at the end of the garage, a motorbike which he modifies himself and uses for school.

After parking the car, Aldy walked with Hari into the house. Aldy continued his steps into his room, took off all the clothes he was wearing for Arini's funeral procession, and replaced them with comfortable clothes to wear at home.

While exhaling a deep breath, Aldy lay down on the sofa in his room. Aldy's room does not have a bed. Instead, just a sofa that is very comfortable to sleep on or use to lie down.

It's not that Aldy doesn't like the bed, but the room is full of gamers' equipment such as a personal computer with high specifications, two large LCD screens hanging on the wall, a PS 5, and a special chair for playing games in front of his computer.

Aldy likes to spend time playing games, especially war games with the FPS genre such as PUBG and Point Blank.

On the soft sofa, he stared at the sky filled with the bluish light from the LED lamp and thought of something he had not yet lost from his mind.

The visuals of Maureen's face, his sister who is now lying in a coma on the hospital bed, kept appearing in his mind.

What Aldy had in mind was that he wanted to do something for Maureen, but he realized that there was nothing he could do for her. He never had a younger sister before.

"Maureen Gabriella ... Sixteen years old ... Just about to enter high school. Will we go to the same school later? Only if you can wake up from your coma before I graduate." Aldy muttered softly, still laying down looking at the bluish ceiling of his room. "Reen ... I think I'll call you Reen. Sounds simpler like that."

Aldy rose from his sleeping position, turned on the fan on the ceiling of his room, a special fan to circulate air outside the room, making air circulation run smoothly. This he does every time he wants to inhale the nicotine sticks that have become addictive to his daily life.

Aldy took a pack of cigarettes from her bag, pulled the nicotine stick out of the pack, and sandwiched the filter between her upper and lower lips. Burn the tip with a lighter then inhale deeply of the pleasure smoke before sending it into the air.

"Even if we are going to the same school later, but the school situation is still not conducive. Many other school gangs are curious about my school ... Wait ... Right. I think there is something I can do for you, Reen."

Aldy smiled broadly. He just realized that there was something he could do before Maureen woke up from his coma.

He will solve the problems of the other school gangs who want to disturb the peace of his school before Maureen will go to school with him later.

He will make his school gang the most respected school gang so that no one else dares to disturb the peace of his school. In other words, Aldy will destroy the other school gangs in his area.

Looks like, Aldy will start getting busy with the war between the school gangs.

"Just wait, Reen. Once you get to my school, I'll make sure no one can bother you there."

Aldy's plan will begin. But before that, there was one thing he had to do to make it happen.

Before making his school gang become the most feared and respected school gang, he must be the king of his school first. That way, he will easily gather troops to attack other school gangs.

It seems that Aldy will return to his sadistic and violent personality once again like in the past.

And that's all he did to create a safe school environment for Maureen later because the school conditions are not conducive at the moment. Almost every day other school gangs come to ask for physical agility battles.

For the sake of Maureen, his younger sister whom he had never even met before.
