Once Jun walked past the barrier, that place looked like a village. Yui was happy with a small place. To Yui's misery, When Jun walked past the village's fence, the place became a big town. Yui almost fell down because of the unpredictable change.
Once again, Yui felt uncomfortable but this time she sensed danger. There were so many humans, beast and beast man that she couldn't tell where the danger was. She just assumed that they were all dangerous and she should get out of there. Her instincts were telling her to get out and Ares was feeling the same thing. Jun found it amusing. "Don't worry. You're with me."
The black wolf wanted to tell him that with him it was worse but chose to ignore Jun and close her eyes.Jun tried to enter a building so that he could choose a task to do but was stopped. "No beasts are allowed in."
He scratched his head and looked at Yui and Are. One wolf was faking sleeping and the other was trying to move without success. He hesitated at leaving them but didn't think that someone would dare kidnap something that he owns.
The elf left them outside and entered without looking back even once. He sighed looking at the almost empty wall. There were still a lot of people in front of the wall so he had to fight to reach a piece of paper with a task.
From afar he could see one which you have to kill 100 rats in an abandoned mansion. The other looked more like chores. Even this one wasn't much of a challenge to him but the elf needed some money.
He tried to force his way to the wall with tasks but the wave of people threw him at the back. The number surpassed his strength. He tried again but this time he advanced bit by bit. In the meantime, a cloaked man approached Yui and Ares. Yui felt someone near her and once she opened her eyes, she saw a suspicious cloaked man.
Actually, that man was only interested in the black wolf but when he saw Yui's eyes a killing intent could be felt. Yui frose in her growling and felt a familiar shiver. 'I hope it's not who I think it is...'
Yui saw a grin under the hood and felt restless. Yui looked at Ares. He was useless now. She looked where Jun entered. He also was useless. She couldn't even tell where he was. Maybe he secretly abandoned them and sold them to this clocked man.Yui saw the man's hand coming closer and closer to her head. She wasn't dear to breath. She imagined the worst case scenario.
Just before reaching the wolf's head, the cloaked man's hand clench into a fist and lightly hit her head. Right after, Ares jumped at him and bit its hand. The cloaked person knocked the red wolf out and began patting the black one with a warm smile. Yui felt as if something snapped and that a weight had been lifted from her mind.
The wolf looked up at his face but she wasn't able to see. He must have used something to mask his face, maybe a spell or artifact. What she did see was that familiar warm smile. She got confused. Wasn't she in the future compared to last time? Haven't many years passed? Why is he here? Has he come to kill her again or try to propose the same deal?
The cloaked guy came closer and whispered so that only Yui could hear. Then the man told Yui that she would soon be free from everything. She was confused as to how. That meant she could escape now while Jun wasn't looking. Sadly, she wasn't sure if it was about the collar and shackles that he was talking about or if he was saying that to give her some hope. After all... she'll get paralyzed if she's too far away.
Her expression became depressed. 'Right. He is nearby if l can move.' Yui didn't have time to try to communicate with the cloaked man that the man swiftly stole Ares and disappeared in a blue flame.
The wolf's eyes almost popped up from shock. 'So it was indeed that scary mage!' After the shock, her eyes looked angry. 'Why did you steal my punching bag! He didn't even let me question him about what happened...'
Then the black wolf remembered that she wasn't a snake anymore and was weak. 'Actually he doesn't even know me so it makes sense that he kidnapped Ares instead of my weak self.' She nodded and said farewell to Ares in her heart and thanked him for being tortured by those blue flames in her place. Who knew that the poor Ares would be treated worse than what she thought...
Yui already knew what to say to Jun if he asked what happened to the big wolf. And just as she was thinking of the detestable man, he got out and walked towards her while looking around for Ares. 'Where did ya boyfriend go?'
She stared at him intensely. 'Some man came and took it.' Jun was speechless. Why only take Ares? "What were you doing when that happened? Why didn't you protect him? You don't even have a scratch on you. Are you that heartless?"
Yui was sitting and tilted her head. 'I was sleeping. When l woke up, he disappeared with the silly wolf.' Jun looked exasperate. "He was so kind and nice. Not to forget, he looked strong. Now I know why he only took Ares. Who would want a weak and lazy pig?" Yui was no longer listening to him. Jun looked at this indifferent dog and wanted to kick its ass. Even if he regretted losing Ares, deep down he was still relieved that the most important one looked fine.
