In a blink of an eye, a day, a month, a year passed. As time continued it's never ending trek, Kenzeth only grew in strength.
Although he has the perfect body that was specially tailored for the purpose of cultivating and a heaven defying cultivation technique, it doesn't mean that every thing went as smooth as Kenzeth had initially thought.
Life is unpredictable. It will keep pitching you curves to throw you off your game and then it will laugh at your failures.
Life is a prick just like that. This is the reality.
As Kenzeth trained to get stronger he had to explore the world in search of strong opponents to train his battle arts.
"I should have known that this wasn't the best idea." Kenzeth panted raggedly as he tightly gripped a dagger crafted from the fangs of a 'Berserk Obsidian Lion' he had slayed in an epic battle six months ago.
Infront of Kenzeth was a giant black serpent with glowing green patters on its body and a golden 'crown' mark on it's head.
The black dagger gleamed coldly in the moonlight similar to Kenzeth's eyes that radiated cold killing intent.
"Hiss..." The serpent bared its fangs at Kenzeth as it hissed aggressively at him as blood dripped from multiple wounds. Kenzeth left arm was hanging limply by his side housing two holes in them.
"B*stard... You did a number on me. But it isn't over yet!" Kenzeth taunted the serpent and smirked in defiance. His face held no trace of fear. "Come at me!"
"Hiss!" The serpent hissed hatefully and leaped at Kenzeth. Kenzeth didn't panic, instead he stayed still as the serpent approached him with the intent to swallow him hole.
When the serpent was only a few inches away he finally burst into action. He ducked and rolled under the serpent successfully evading the attack.
Twirling the dagger he caught it in a reverse grip and regained his footing just as the serpent leaped at him again.
This time Kenzeth only turned half way and as the giant serpent brushed past him he quickly his the dagger in the corner of its mouth and held the dagger tightly in place.
The momentum of the serpent's leap helped Kenzeth as it was cut open from one side of it's mouth to it's stomach.
Kenzeth took several deep breaths to calm his erratically beating heart.
The serpent was few feet away as it laid on the ground bleeding and twitching in pain. It looked at Kenzeth with resentful eyes as he walked towards the serpent covered in a green light.
It's eyes showed a trace of surprise as Kenzeth's wounds began to heal. Kenzeth walked slowly while raising his now fully healed hand.
A demonic crimson flames appeared and began burning in the palms of his hand. The demonic flame radiated evilness and bloodlust that frightened the beast.
"You sure were a strong opponent buddy and it was hell fighting you. Sadly... You aren't qualified to kill me." Kenzeth smirked confidently as he looked down on the giant serpent who at this point was just a twitching mess. "But don't feel bad, to tell you the truth... There's no one in this world who's qualified to kill me."
Kenzeth smiled softly as he places his flaming hand on the 'Abyss Poison Serpent'.
"Now please close your eyes and burn for me."
If the serpent could, it would have cursed Kenzeth's eighteen generation but what came out was only hisses full of anguish.
-------
The storm didn't look that it was going to slow down any soon. The snow barraged the great mountains endlessly covering them with thick blanket of snow.
Even the native Demonic Beasts who have lived on the these mountains since birth found the temperature a lit bit too much and decided it was better to stay in their respective homes.
No creature dared to face the blizzard and wanted to be spared from the fate of being frozen to death.
That's normal perhaps, as all creatures have a natural fear of death but one can't ignore the fact that Kenzeth is the only one who doesn't fit in norm.
Kenzeth's figure swayed and shivered as the icy, freezing attack of the blizzard tried to break his determination but Kenzeth's was nothing if he wasn't persistent.
Kenzeth navigated through the thick layer of smoke, as he kept chanting a mantra from the 'Seven Cosmic Flame Scripture'.
This was the trial Kenzeth had to face to unlock the full potential of the 'Seven Cosmic Flame' Battle Art.
The Demonic Blood Flames he had used months ago to defeat the giant Snake was only the second level.
If he wanted to unlock the full potential then he himself will have to assume the role of the eternal torch, which would burn eternally even when pitted against the strongest winds.
This was his labour. This was his trial and he intends to push through it.
"I shall not waver. I shall not fall. Even when if I have to go against the world I shall prevail. The flames that's my will, shall only burn stronger and consume the whole world!" Kenzeth exclaimed as a shroud of orange flames covered his form.
Protect and kept warm by the shroud of the flames he kept climbing the mountain higher. His destination are the peaks of the three great mountains. There's something on top of three mountains that's waiting for him.
This was only the first mountain. Each mountain is higher than the previous one and it only gets colder the higher it goes.
This was the perfect opportunity for him to temper his body and his flames.
Days turned into nights and nights turned into days but Kenzeth only stopped for minimum rest.
The mountains were enraged and sent everything they had, his way. They wanted to see him fall but failed.
Orange turned red, red turned white. White turned pink, pink turned purple. Purple turned green and green turned blue.
When Kenzeth reached the peak of the mountain, the sky lit up as huge beam of blue flames pierced the sky.
When the flames died down, at the heart of this phenomenon was Kenzeth, bare as the day he was born. The flames had tempered his body to the highest degree burning and reconstructing him from the inside.
Revenge of the his offenders now seemed so eas-
"Sh*t... Where am I gonna get a new set of clothes?!"
------
Never mind.
Kenzeth cursed but his eyes lit up as he spotted the entrance of an ancient castle infront of him. Kenzeth rubbed his hands eagerly and quickly rushed inside.
"I hope there's food inside! I'm quite hungry after trekking up this snowy mountain for who knows how long!"
-----
"La la la la~ La la la la~ Hmm mm hmm~ Hmm mm hmm~" Kenzeth hummed joyously to himself as he dodges the attacks of armoured skeletons who were wielding spears and swords. "Hey? Aren't dead supposed to be scary? How come you are so funny? Hahaha~ And you are so slow."
A skeleton welding a spear disappeared from sight and appeared right behind Kenzeth. It raised brandished it's spear towards Kenzeth but before it could reach him it was tackled by a big black wolf with golden patterns all over is body.
"Eh? See! Even Sebastian is faster than you and he's barely two months old. Right Seb?"
"Woff! Woff!" Sebastian barked and wagged his tail happily as he chewed on the poor skeleton who was trying to save itself.
"Don't you feel old men feel ashamed? Being bested by a brat and his pet must be humiliating right? Tch, tch tch. So bad, so sad." Kenzeth shook his sadly agitating the skeletons by his constant taunting.
*Woosh!*
"Oh?" Kenzeth muttered as he looked at the arrow that was sticking in his stomach. He then looked at a skeleton holding a bow.
The skeleton was now making cool poses and seemed to bragging to his dead peers who looked at him with reverence for managing to hit the annoying r*scal. Kenzeth's eyebrow twitched violently in annoyance as he looked at the scene.
"You managed to change my mind. You guys, aside from useless pieces of bones are also annoying. And let me tell you something..."
Sebastian whimpered softly as he retreat back a few steps with a few bones still in his mouth.
"I have a bad tolerance against annoying things!" Kenzeth said darkly. "Now go to sleep!"
Luckily the skeletons are only bones and they don't have vocal cords. If they did then the screams of the poor saps would have frightened even the most brave Demonic Beast near Kenzeth.
Kenzeth dusted his hands as he looked at the pile of flaming bones and nodded in approval.
"That's what you get for acting smug infront of me. Yo Seb, come, lets go! We still have to explore this dungeon city."
"Woff! Woff!" Sebastian barked as he ranafter Kenzeth.
"Good boy~ Since you have helped me a lot today I will give you an extra piece tonight."
*Intense tail wags!*
"But we are under the ground so it's hard to tell what time its day and night." Kenzeth smirked as he watched Sebastian slump gloomily besides him "Yikes! Looks like you have to wait till we go back surface, but I don't know how many days it will take."
*Whimpers sadly*
"Hahaha! I'm just messing with you kiddo." Kenzeth grabbed Sebastian in a playful headlock and rubbed his head. "Don't worry you'll get your treat."
"Woff?"
"Promise!"
"Woff! Woff!"
"Hahaha!"
------
Kenzeth dusted his hands as he finished storing the last golden chest inside his Soul Space. Stretching his back he stifled a yawn and turned to leave.
"Alright Seb, Marnie it's time to go. This was the last room in this big a*s castle." Kenzeth said as he looked at his two companions.
A beautiful majestic bird trilled as he perched itself on Kenzeth's left shoulder and snuggled in the crook of his neck affectionately.
The bird is two feet tall, has an impressive wingspan and long tail. Its beautiful red and gold feathers glittered softly even in the dimly lit hallways of the old castle.
Following Marnie, came Sebastian his tail wagging happily behind him. He looked happy to get out of this creepy old castle.
"Awww Marnie.. You're such a cutie!" Kenzeth praised the Heavenly Phoenix as he petted her softly.
"Trill!..." Marnie trilled beautiful her melodious voice was like a song that always soothed Kenzeth's heart and gave him strength.
"Woff?!"
"Hahaha! You are a good boy too buddy!" Kenzeth chuckled as Sebastian snuggled against his leg.
Getting out of the Castle the trio left for home. After a week or two they finally reached their home.
"Home sweet home." Kenzeth muttered as he looked at his home. Being away for 6 months made him homesick. Even if there was no one waiting for him at home he still missed his home.
There is something unique about home that Kenzeth couldn't describe that made him happy. Maybe it was the warmth it provided or maybe it was the sense of safety it gave him.
After six months of constant travelling once again, he was glad to be home and looking at Marnie and Sebastian, Kenzeth smiled knowing that he wasn't the only one.
"Alright let's go in. Tonight we will have a feast!"
"Trill...!"
"Woff! Woff!"
"Hahaha!"
Kenzeth walked towards home and the gate opened automatically. Looking at it Kenzeth couldn't help but admire how much it has changed in the span of five years.
Where once laid ruins of Golden Era was a beautiful mansion that looked very modern even when compared to mansion of the wealthiest merchant of the Divine Continents.
From the outside this mansion looks very elegant. It has been built with wood of ancient 'Evergreen Elixir Oak Tree' and has burgundy brick decorations. Large squared windows allow plenty light to enter the home and have been added to the house in the most symmetric way.
The house is equipped with an large kitchen, one large bathroom, it also has a large snug living room, many bedrooms, a large dining room, an office and a beautiful room specially made for Marnie and Sebastian.
The building is shaped like a 'T'. The two extensions extend into stylish gardens reaching until the end of that side of the house.
The second floor is the same size as the first, but part of it hangs over the edge of the floor below, creating an overhang on one side and a balcony on the other. This floor has a different style than the floor below and mostly has spare bedrooms.
The roof is high and slanted to one side and is covered with overlapping roof tiles. There are a chimney connecting to the fireplace in the living room and there are tiny windows on the roof.
The house itself is surrounded by a large garden, containing all sorts of plants and trees.
There is a small fence surrounding the garden and the house and numerous runes have been carved on them to protect the house from beasts.
"Eat well and good tonight! Tomorrow I will be taking you both to a 'very' special place! This place is really close to my heart so make sure you behave well okay?" Kenzeth asked as smirked menacing to himself.
"Trill!..."
"Woff!"
