A beautiful lady in her early twenties spoke to the woman in front of her. Silky purple hair tied into a tight, high only tail with some bangs falling over her forehead. Her ice blue eyes looked at the woman besides her with well disguised resentment.
Even though the woman wore simple snow white robes, the aura emanating from her was cold and elegant. In her hand was a silver fan which he used to fan her face lightly.
This beautiful girl is Emilia Marsh, the first princess of the Rising Heaven Country.
Besides Emilia is her mother, the Empress of the Rising Heaven Country, Anna Marsh who sat in her with a surprise expression on her face. Looking at her she didn't seem to have aged even a bit but instead looked even more beautiful.
This was normal for the ladies of the Marsh family who cultivate the 'Immortal Jade Maiden' technique which is a high-level, Tier 4 technique.
Cultivation Manuals, Battle Arts, Weapons and Pills are classified into 9 Tiers from 1 to 9. 1 being the lowest in value and 9 being the highest. Each tier is further decided into three levels: Low, Mid and High.
The surprise disappeared from the Anna's face and she looked at Emilia with an impassive gaze.
"Oh? It's already been five years? My, my.. Time sure flies fast and what do you intend to say by pointing this out dear eldest of mine? Hmm?" Anna asked narrowing her eyes.
"You may have forgotten and moved on mother but I haven't. It may be easy for you to forget about your only son who loved you more than his own being but the same can't be said for me. I haven't forgotten and I never will." Emilia said a dangerous aura emanating from her form. "I will never forget how you took my dear brother away from me!"
"Watch your tone when you are speaking to me young lady! I am still your Empress and you are my subject! You do not rebel against me!" Anna bellowed as she released her pressure to match Emilia's.
The ministers of the courts began to sweat from the pressure yet no one dared to speak, not wanting afraid of offending either of the two.
"And if you don't remember he is a criminal and he was exiled for his si!-"
"You and me, we both know the truth and that 'you' were the one who framed my little brother." Emilia said cutting Anna off. Anna briefly flinched as a look of shame appeared on her face before she quickly replaced it by a mask of coldness.
"Regardless, he was still exiled and that to 'The World Below'. If you want me to open the gate believing that, he is going to walk out of it, well and alive then you truly are naive, my daughter." Anna said in a condescending tone before her tone gained a threatning edge. "Perhaps I should have Summer take out the throne in your stead since you are so soft hearted."
Emilia was the first born of Anna and Arnold Marsh and since Kenzeth was exiled, she was the first in line to inherit the place to rule the Rising Heaven Country. Anna had managed to keep Emilia quite by manipulating her but today Emilia was having none of it.
Emilia narrowed her eyes at the blatant threat. She gritted her teeth and had to restrain herself from unleashing her rage. She took a deep breath and replied with a smirk.
"Yes, maybe be you should. After all she has the same 'qualities' you do. The same qualities of cunning, manipulating temptress who knows how to play with everybody's brains." Emilia quipped.
Anna's nose visibly flared in anger but he managed to reign it in.
"Do not speak ill of your sister especially when she is out trying to bring fame and glory to our family and our country."
"That brat isn't even qualified to be my handmaiden what makes you think she's qualified to be my sibling." Emilia huffed angrily.
"Enough is enough! If you love your brother so much then I can send you to him!" Anna bellowed in rage as Emilia clenched her fist but said nothing. She hated that she was powerless against her mother. Anna took a deep breath to calm her temper and sighed sadly.
"Your sister only did what I told her. You cannot blame her. Blame me if you want but I do not regret my actions. I did what I did for the bright future of my country.
Kenzeth should be dead so I am not even going to waste my energy to open the gate to wait for a ghost. His death may be the result of my decisions and I am ready to bear the responsibility for that bit I don't regret my decision nor I ever will."
"A strong ruler will always put his country before his family. You should understand and act like a proper princess who soon is going to become the 88th Empress of the country while you still have the chance. Crying and resenting your actions won't be of any use if I crown your sister as the next Empress!" Anna openly threatened her.
Emilia looked at Anna with open resentful eyes before standing and turning around to leave.
"A righteous ruler would never turn on his own kin, neither would he throw his kin into the pits of snake for his own safety. If one commits such sin, he isn't fit to be a ruler." Emilia spoke as she paused mid-step. Her tone was cold, loud and clear as she stunned every one into silence. "Mother, you... Aren't fit to a ruler and I, Emilia Marsh am ashamed to call you my own kin."
"You... How dare you say such things for me?!" Anna stood up as she creamed in anger. "Where do you think you are going?! Answer me!"
"No need for you to expend your energy on me. I'm returning to the Azure Lily Academy and I'm not coming back unless it's a national emergency." Emilia announced shocking her mother and the court.
"Wha-?! You can't do that! I won't allow you to! As the Empress of this country it's my order!"
Qi raged out from Anna as she tried to stop Emilia and before she could speak any further a guard came barged into the courtroom, his face was full was devoid of any colour and his eyes were filled with terror.
"Your highness! Your highness! That.. it.. the gate.. it..." The guard spluttered and fumbled trying to form a coherent sentence but failed.
"What happened? Tell me now!" Anna adopted a stern expression as she ordered the guard.
"I... The gate your highness! It's acting!" The guard exclaimed shocking everyone one.
"What?" Anna asked dumbfounded. Even Emilia stopped as soon as she heard those words. Her beautiful blue eyes lit up as a small spark of hope lit up in her heart. "That's... That's impossible! Are you absolutely sure?!"
"Yes your highness! This humble subject speaks the truth! I saw the gate acting strangely and then it began powering on its own! This humble subject has never lied!" The guard knelt down to emphasise his words.
"Oh my..." Anna muttered as she rushed out, Emilia and other minsters following shortly after her.
As they reached the front grounds of the palace they were greeted by a sight that was fascinating and terrifying at the same time.
The gate indeed was acting up, it indeed had opened on it's own. Surrounding the gate were hundreds of anxious royal soldiers who had their weapons trained on the gate as they prepared themselves to fight any possible threat should it show up.
It was always fascinating to see an artifact that was created by their ancestors in action but it was terrifying since the gate could only accessed by the scholars of the Royal Family and the only way of opening the gate was if the said scholars channeled this Qi into the gate.
There has never been this kind of phenomenon and no had ever expected it as it was thought to be-
"Impossible! This can't he happening!" Monroe's wrinkled face morphed into terror as he began sweating.
Indeed it was supposed to supposed to be impossible and yet here it was happening infront of them.
Black lightning began to dance around the gate as the guards simultaneously took a step back in fear. The lightning intensified as the gate opened up.
"Holy ancestors... This can't be happening... Someone forced the gate open from the other side!" Anna muttered numb from shock.
Emilia just watched quietly in fascination as she prayed in her heart. 'Please let it be him, please let it be him, please...'
Infront of everyone one watching, the purple veil of energy as a tall and strong looking figure emerged from the veil.
Everybody's eyes simultaneously widened in shock as they looked figure infront of them, unable to believe what they were seeing.
The figure in question is a tall young man in his late teens with handsome, masculine features that could rival Adonis.
Long wild, shiny black hair swayed in the wind as two bangs framed his sharp visage. His eyebrows rose up in bewilderment as his burning azure blue eyes scanned the surroundings in curiosity.
A small boyish grin appeared on the young man's face that made Emilia feel weak as she looked on with a dazed look and a small blush.
'This guy... Isn't he too good looking?!'
That was the collective thought of a the people. The males felt threatened and the women... It's better not mentioning their state of mind.
No matter how you put it, the young man was indeed very good looking and unlike the most men of the Divine Continents who were either too brutish or too girlie, this man was the definition of balance.
Lithe frame that was packed with strong muscles that weren't just for show and the aura that he radiated was very domineering. The man certainly has a unique charm and none could deny it.
But the question is
'Who hell is this guy?!'
The young man smirked as he observed the soldiers who had their weapons pointed at him.
"Wow~ I didn't expect to get such a warm welcome." The man spoke up. This oddly familiar voice was deep and had a certain weight to it. "Aww... Did you guys miss me so much? Don't worry~ Cause I'm finally back!"
"No... This can't be! It's impossible!" Anna stuttered as she tumbled in shock. This was the biggest shock she has received in her entire life. "You can't be-!"
"Kenzeth?!" Emilia couldn't help but exclaim out loud as she tried to hold back the tears in her eyes.
"The one and only!" Kenzeth replied with a smirk as he turned his attention towards Emilia and couldn't help but whistle in his heart. 'Damn... This member of the Royal Family sure are too beautiful.'
"You... How can you be alive? No! You can't be alive! You are supposed to be dead!" Anna was having a mental breakdown as she was still unable to wrap her head around what was happening.
"Surprised? You should be. After all it isn't everyday that the person you had thrown to the wolves comes back becoming the leader of the pack." Kenzeth said as he smirked maliciously. "And now that I'm back, it's time for you bitches to pay for what you did to me!"
"Nonono! This can't be! Kenzeth! That cripple shouldn't be able to survive! You must be someone pretending to be him!" Anna unable to except what she was seeing had lost her rationality. "Guards! Arrest this imposter and take him in for interrogation!"
"Yes your highness!"
"And there... She has lost it! Sigh... This sh*t is never easy." Kenzeth sighed playfully as he looked at the foolish men rushing at him. Suddenly the playfulness vanished from his face being replaced by a hard look.
Before the guards could even touch him a powerful shockwave that was the result of Kenzeth releasing his Qi in a burst, swept the men off their feet and threw them a few steps back.
"Grrrrrr..." A dangerous grown echoed sending chills down everyone's spine as a creature from their worst nightmares emerged from the veil and stood besides Kenzeth
The 'Hollowed Moon Wolf' was a terrifying existence that even the most bravest hunters didn't dare to offend.
"Trill~~~" A beautiful melodious trill announced the appearance of a majestic 'Nine Sky Shattering Pheonix' who perched itself on Kenzeth's left shoulder.
"Easy there people, rushing won't do you any good." Kenzeth said as large amount of pressure poured out of him terrifying the crowd even more. "In this case, it will only lead you to an early, painful death.'
Sebastian growled as some golden flames leaked through the canines scaring the people even more. After stunning them into silence Kenzeth spoke up.
"That's good! Now... Why don't we take this inside and I kick your asses to heavens and then back to ground?"
