As I entered the portal, the entire world around me turned black and empty. This was my first time going though a warp. I expected it to feel weird but I didn't feel anything. Just falling. In a world with no bottom. And then... snap.
I was no longer in the darkness. But rather in the sky. I admit, I panicked for a moment. But I am not in the special forces for nothing. Sure enough my instincts kicked in. But... I had no parachute, no plan A or B, no idea where my teammates are... Hmm... Well, what did I bring from the tech lab? A hat and gloves... What good are they now? Well, let's try the hat. It's not like I have a choice. I doubled tapped a small button on the side of the hat that I had seen when choosing my gear. As soon as I did, some type of goo came out of my hat. And started covering my body like in that old film Venom. Within a moment I had an... Armored suit on?
"Btw, that is intended to change your clothes in an instant," Dr. Claude's voice chimed in my earpiece. "I have no idea why you are free falling."
"So this was not your doing?!" I shouted over the noise from the wind. "Can you at least help me?!"
"I should shouldn't I..." he agreed. "But I'm too lazy."
You've got to be kidding me. Then, before I could say anything else to him he hung up... I suppose? Um... okay. I still have the gloves. I turned my head to see the distance between me and the ground. And I can assure you, there wasn't much left.
I start franticly looking for the activation mechanism. It took me a few seconds but I found it. There is a button on the thumb, and... my 404 puled up. Why would that happen. Then a small face appeared. It was only for an instance but I saw it. I looked down, almost about to hit the ground. My ears pounded. The gloves were my only chance at survival. I push the button.
