"Truce? You just tried to kidnap me!" Adilita responded then stared Cross down before giving in. She knew she wasn't human so even with a repair system, Adilita wasn't going to be stitched back together and heal a missing leg. The logic behind surviving Cross' revenge or choosing the traitorous pair was almost none existent. Luckily, the error message was completely overwritten by Adilita's overdrive as she accelerated in case she could slip away. Calico could read Adilita like a book and began casting a defensive spell onto the Android. Gypsy grumbled for a moment before pulling out the pair of daggers. "Just so you know, Carrow Corrow would not accept the deal if you're in pieces. Don't kill anybody here or I'll let them tear you apart for scrap because some of them have been old friends." Calico snickered at Gypsy's attempt to save face in front of Adilita about switching sides so quickly. "Look at their golems! You want me to go easy on them?" Adilita complained as she pointed out a very deadly looking model. The captain even frowned at how light the trio was taking him and began barking calculated orders.
The skirmish began quickly as Adilita parries an attack aimed to discombobulate Calico. "You Kings are the worst!" Adilita complained as she used her strength to grab the guard by the throat and proceed to backhand the man until another comrade had enough of watching her humiliate them so easily. Adilita almost used the unconscious man as a shield when Gypsy stepped in to block the arrow from piercing the unfortunate guard. "No killing!" The two cat folk screamed together. Adilita's eyes furrowed with anger as the true battle began to take place. The captain's orders were effective enough to allow the trio to be surrounded by his men but because of the trio's combative abilities they soon found themselves having to stand their ground. Adilita's overdrive transformed her to suit her needs as she dodged continued attacks. Calico and Gypsy provided a basic combination of keeping their opponents at bay yet making the guardsmen and combat golems look like they were Cannon fodder. When it came to the deadlier golems, Adilita dashed through the battle lines and broke them quickly before their mage partner responded. If not for this strategy them the captain would have easily overpowered them. Gypsy had even tried to use his inhuman reflexes to cut through the battle lines to take the captain out but Cross Saber's colt warned him away. The Captain's eyes were sharp enough to keep an eye on the situation as he rerouted the remaining team members into an ever-changing formation. Cannon fodder or not, the trio would run out of strength if the captain kept them on a short leash.
"To your left!" Calico warned making Adilita respond to a newly pressing attack with a leaping roundhouse to switch feet rapidly. It was short but beautiful as the Captain's men began coordinating more causing even the android's strength to be matched by the firepower of swords, knives, and combat techniques that included unusual uses of powers. A few even grazed Gypsy such as a flame fist fighter or a poison mist that Adilita had to create an impact shockwave into the earth to clear away.
"You still want me to keep them alive after than poison?" Adilita asked but Calico soon cast a spell that removed the ailment from Gypsy's body. Adilita was impressed but pretended to be too busy grabbing a man's shoulder then slipping an ankle behind his foot to throw him into a comrade that hand gotten into her blind spot. Much of the blows and sounds of weapons being blocked and the unusual humiliation of being slapped by Adilita until the enemy party lasted a full battle. It was when the last man fell and Adilita pushed her shoes against his throat did the captain stop giving orders. It was quite uncanny how his men had rallied together so well but Calico once again summoned a wolf by opening a portal for it. It howled loudly at the men seemed to lose consciousness from the sound. Adilita realizes quickly that the captain had a sound type of magic that strengthen the hearts of his men. Some of the men weren't even human beings but crossbreeds or enhanced solders. It was as if an entire platoon had spilled out of the streets and broken bodies lay on front of the trio.
"Are we done talking with our fists?" Adilita asked before trying to storm up to the captain. Gypsy stopped her from passing him by placing a hand on her shoulder and her expression was one of someone who was being told 'No'. The captain drew his weapon which happened to be oddly modified golem armor plates for the arms. "We haven't even started talking zero one."
"It's Adilita Kokoro!" The Android shouted her name when she noticed that Cross had also decided to pair up with the captain. "Well dear heart, whatever it is. you're breaking the law here." Cross interjected.
Adilita who had now built up quite a large amount of energy from the overdrive being active so long simply punted a downed guard. "If laying hands on you is a criminal offense then you can get ready to charge me a thought crimes when I'm through showing you that the laws here a crooked."
Gypsy gave up and say down on the fountain corner or rather what was left of it and so did Calico who seemed rather exhausted from the mana burn she received. "Go for it. It's not like you did any better against us two."
"I thought you said truce?" Adilita asked as she saw the twins chicken out of the fight.
"I delivered his kid. I'm not fighting the captain." Calico said and crossed her arms and legs in defiance.
"He's a giant and he's my best customer. I have a shop to run and he can't win against me but he can definitely ruin my business." Gypsy refused despite looking around at most of his customers laying unconscious on the ground.
"Fight with me and I'll willingly go to Carrow Corrow and I'll hand him whatever he needs for you to go home." Adilita said to bring them to help her out. The events had gone so out of hand that even Adilita's thinking no longer aligned correctly in regards to keeping her promise to Lockpiece.
"Deal! No take backs!" The twins said in unison so quickly that Adilita appeared as though she'd fallen once again for the twin's scheming.
"Captain, what's you name?" Adilita asked and curtsied a greeting after stepping over a groaning bodyguard.
"My name is Jack."
"So we have pair of kings, a queen, a jack and and an gunslinging ace." Cross said as he pulled out a deck of cards. Magic energy ran into the cards causing the paper to glow before they were thrown at Adilita's feet. A sharp click sounded followed by a bang of gunpowder leaving a barrel. Holes filled the cards revealing them as flushed suit.
"Baaaatle Royal!" Jack called out.
Adilita's day continued to leave a trail of conflict but the sun appeared to by falling fast in the sky. If anything important had happened in Anadoria and any clues were to be found it was not her place to know. The world she lived in was chaos, romance, and war in a cycling series of events and it was beginning to dawn on Adilita inside her holoworld as to why she existed. If the twins hadn't stopped her then it would have been a much different philosophical discovery leading in more than a struggle for power. With her fortune today, she knew she existed to fight because of how much had been put into her design.
