Chapter 16 - Gypsy's

Until I meet,

The one Destined,

I am Empty,

Afore and now,

Ere I wait,

Upon this spell,

Of love's well.

I nourish thee,

Forever my Patience.

Adilita thought about Misha's sympathetic statement and smiled rather warmly at the concern the angel showed. "I think I'll manage to find him soon." Adilita truly felt supported by her newly acquainted friend. "I think he's a dragon though so a I'm little excited to meet one." She told Misha. Misha flipped her curly hot pink hair at hearing more and waited a moment to speak. "Do you know his name?" Misha asked then Adilita answered, "Carrow Corrow." Misha seems thoughtful for a moment yet moved aside as Calico approached with the treats. Calico's face was a cheerful one but Adilita began to worry that she might have taken advantage of the felines generosity as the menu piled up in front of her. Calico placed the tableware in a western dining display saying rather catty, "Don't worry dear and enjoy. It's pretty brave to order whatever you want when it's on the house and I love that." Adilita blushed deeply and Misha frowned. "That wasn't nice." The angel told the Mithra disguised as Calico and thanks to the angel's sharp awareness the andriod also noticed it. "How'd you catch that?" The thief asked with a disappointed as he unmasked his glamor so that his muscles showed as lean rather than delicate. The real Calico also arrived by their table and set the remaining meals. "See? I told you to be nice." She said and gave Adilita a playful wink.

"It's because you have twin souls and I can see it." Misha answered. Adilita learned by contrasting the two that the Mithra pair seemed familiar and identical except for thier gender. "I win Gypsy, you pay for their meals " The sister told the brother, and he threw a mock fit. "I don't understand why you're being so nice to them." Calico laughed and pulled out her wand to gently boop his nose with it. The little bit of sibling drama made Adilita giggle causing the pair to stop and gawk at the owner of such a beautiful sound. "I call dibs." Gypsy's mouth ran ahead of his brain before he realized how ungentlemanly his behavior was.

"Okay, I give up. Please enjoy Anadoria's finest cuisine of the greatest culinary arts the continent has to offer."

Calico smacked him across the back making him give an eloquent wave of his hand and semi-noble bow to his customers. "On the house since the mistress here is wiser than I." He winked at Misha with a charming energetic smile before swiftly eluding Calico's clutches and returning back to his counter. Misha however nearly frowned as she was now saddened by the proprietors' antics. Quickly thereafter Calico noticed both Adilita's and Misha's emotions and waited quietly at their table. Adilita took a bite of the treats that were made for her causing the ice to break between them so that Misha also took a sip of her drink calmly. "Why are you being nice to us?" Misha asked after a few sips when the clack of fine tablewear touched the saucer once more. Calico was of a more cheerful and honest disposition than her brother and remained so during the entirety of the moment.. Calico seemed to answer with an equally happy tone, "I met your friend in a dream and I recognized her."

Adilita froze mid-bite so that the cake fell off her fork during her moment of shock. "I'm a white magician and a summoner so clairvoyance and divine sight are part of my tribe's rites." Calico explained to Misha and Adilita. "I'm supposed to help you and this is the only way I can since neither of you have money. " The kindly angel showed that she accepted this type of answer. Yet, the still shocked andriod actually began to behave much more shock as realization dawned on her. It took the inner holoworld processor to explain that she had met two of the people she met in Convergence once before. She'd assumed that she'd had to hunt them down not blindly walk into a very obvious situation so soon. It actually made it worse that she processed the information rather quickly because the emotional shock only hit harder. Misha even raised her hand in front of Adilita's eyes to try and see if she was okay and well Adilita wasn't when she recovered. "You waited this long to tell me?" The andriod asked coolly to which Calico didn't lose an ounce of happiness as she set the last plate. "Enjoy the meal," the Mithra said and walked away.

.

Once more the angel and the andriod sat quietly enjoying their various choices. The angel ate the angel cake while the andrio tried almost every treat a bite at a time. Food was a first and only treat she was learning about it wasn't a pleasure one could skip very long without going to trying new sensational tastes. Gypsy wasn't putting on a show or bragging as the pair enjoyed their treats quietly instead of chatting their time away. It could have been awkward but the food was too good from different types of cookies, to a strange nanite substance that helped Adilita's body upgrade her energy capicity called Vincet's bloody Mary. The joy in which Adilita shared with Misha made the pair the brightest and happiest table in the room just by the expressions of sublime ecstasy. Vaguely it was difficult to relate for Adilita who had never tasted food and that naivety was more infectious that Misha's mood brightened from seeing her friend happy about the different confectionaries. From dark velvet cakes to high end gunk that looked like it came from the sewers of Necropolis yet tasted pungent enough to be flavorful but what make it amazing was the side that was sweet nectar finish. Eventually, with bites of everything even Adilita couldn't eat anymore and the unusual effects of the food also seemed to have a limit of how it made the andriod felt improved upon. With a sharper perception afterward finishing her last cake, Adilita reasoned that Misha was much smarter than she appeared to be kind. "Do you know Carrow Corrow?" Adilita asked nicely after taking a sip of tea to clear her palate. Misha nodded, "I met him during a party my friends were having at a cafe. I remember he has long straight hair that is teal blue but he's actually a leviathan beast so he had to use magic to make himself look human." Adilita was really beginning to be curious about this world and it's people. She knew that the population could grow quickly in a generation because of plot force but what made her realize is that the seemingly common people were somehow connected to each other. It could be Gypsy's food talking as it energized her data center with an improved logical process but she knew that she was right in her intuitive thinking. Adilita was validated in continuing to listen to Misha speak. "He was nice to mostly everyone but has a really big ego and usually uses telepathy to talk. It was a big party of all of the different people who live herein our world. I don't remember much else about him. There were so many folks that even Esther Dimnu was there to drink and he won the ping-pong game because he's an undead necromancer." Misha giggled and Adilita wondered what ping-pong was. She tried to find information to make her not look niave but failed to find anything in her database. Instead Adilita took Misha at her word for it and asked, "Do you know where he is at now?"

Misha shook her head in a no sign which caused Adilita to be disappointed greatly. Her friend had been a big help just telling her about Carrow Corrow and that she'd met him but Adilita had no idea when exactly it happened. As far as her reasoning could explain to her, it was almost a thousand years after she'd been made that she'd awoken and also secretly another thousand in Covergence before being sent back to Anadoria. It could have been ten years ago because Angels were immortal or a year ago during her deactivated period. "Do you think you could help me find him or tell me where he might be?" Adilita asked the easiest question she could think of asking. She knew that in her quest there was a sense of loss that she was ignoring the entirety of the time had yet to peice together why it was harder to realize where Carrow Corrow may be. Once again Misha shook her dainty head making locks of hair flow like water around the crown of her head. Adilita Kokoro almost blushed with love after seeing how beautiful Misha could be but continued to think.

"I don't know this city well and I need to find him. He's supposed to be someone who is important here so why doesn't he just appear like the queen of Chan did for Mesta?" She asked Misha who placed her hands together in her lap quietly after hearing that. "I heard about Mesta and I think that was an emergency situation where the rulers decide how to help the people the most. I had to collect many lost souls that day and it made me cry alot to see what happened." Adilia blinked for a moment in incomprehension of the emotions that were fluctuating at a high rate in her between empathy for her friend to extreme sadness and enlightening of what it actually meant to have seen it that day. For Adilita alone, it had been the day of birth but to angel it had become a day of harvest. Adilita's modules weren't immaturely made so that her mind would be stuck childlike in her ways but rather it was too easy to connect the dots now. Eliza's visit meant much for the safety of Mesta and Adilita's world but also reminded her that she was in a grander picture for a moment. Adilita couldn't help but comfort her friend by saying, "Mestarians are a strong people and handle whatever slaps them in the face well. They can even handle six slaps and sass the culprit effortlessly. I believe they're going to recover well with Queen Eliza's guidance." Misha was comforted as she felt that Adilita was telling the truth and it made her less sad about doing her job. She sat quietly for a few minutes drinking their respective beverages and also Adilita sneaking a bite of the remaining cuisine.

In the remaining time Calico approached them once more after having the pair of friends time and space to bond properly. The mithra woman appeared dressed differently than before in that she worse a white robe, carried an ornate staff shaped around a crystal scarred with lashes of magic inside. Calico's boots were also matching in the attire of the clothes she worse rather than the dress of a servitor in a confection cafe. Adilita and Misha were unalarmed because of the clothes were more fitting for the mithra as well as the style of dress during that day and age. She appeared to be wiser and much more carried in regalia than a naturally happy woman in this appearance. There were other armaments such as a book hanging off a silver chain belt that were descriptive of Calico's very nature. It seemed as if she could battle Adilita and Misha with just her powers but what actually occurred was slightly humbler as she sat down in a chair their table to talk to the pair.

Misha was once again wise enough to speak honestly and said, "Thank you for the beautiful cake and Adilita enjoyed your menu. I'll tell my friends about your store so that they'll visit you." The Mithra appeared appropriately flattered by Misha's wise courteous words and waited for the pair to speak more openly. After a large pause it was once again Misha who spoke in a way that severely awed Adilita in how one should behave so ladylike. "I apologize yet if I may be so forthcoming but could you explain what you meant by saying you dreamed of helping Adilita today?" Misha nodded and gazed at Adilita whose eyes connected with the Mithra in a wide amazement. "You were the one who challenged me to a dual when we were to meet!" She exclaimed with great force that would knock most except Calico King off her chair in the way that she serenely nodded back an answer. "It was my brother I think that challenged you but you see we're an item or the same exact soul from our own respective worlds. We are identical in our making so if he challenges you then I too would have felt the desire to do so as well." Adilita understand it rather simply from what she heard but Misha spoke once again revealing another side to reality because of her angelism. "You mean to say that you and your brother are exactly the same person from two parallel dimensions." Mithra asked as if she wanted to understand Calico's predicament here on Anadoria rather than the telling of the vision. Adilita hadn't expected it to turn into a situation where she wasn't the center of attention, and she was much too young in experience to have that attention quickly pulled off like a gauze wrap. Calico once again absorbed the question with a simple serene nod. "In some worlds we are actually the same person but in Anadoria we get split in half while in others we are trapped here by a mysterious force. Some Calicos are able to go home after that force decides their purpose is unfitting to be here and Gypsy helps them return." Adilita was quickly taken aback from her problems and put aside her quest for knowledge, understanding, and love to hear such an amazing metaphysical explanation. Misha being the one who who is a better mediator in such things actually ended up crying from hearing Calico's story. Adilita's holoworld began to connect information that Time Lockpiece put together about Convergence and the generals for the king of Mesta.

"I think I know what that force is." Adilita shyly interrupted Misha's emotional moment without stopping her from being herself. "I recently met a mysterious man named Time Lockpiece in a strange place." This caught Calico's attention startingly which made Adilita hurry to explain more. "I met him in the same place I met you in your dreams as you say." Calico once more serenely encouraged Adilita to continue forward with her words with a narrow attentive gaze that pierced the android's eyes. It revealed to Adilita that Calico knew more than she let on making the andriod feel in her core that she may know about her father as well even if it had been a random string of encounters that led her here. "He told me that the king of Mesta seeks to find powerful generals and I would encounter many of them." Calico's eyes narrowed, "So? What I saw was you not the king." Adilita felt like she'd been slapped in the face with concise discernment that cut deep into her daddy issues. What her daddy issues had to do with the king was yet undiscoverable to Adilita or why it involved Gypsy and Calico. "What I mean to say is that if someone has the power to continuously force my brother and I to live here what does it have to deal with a faraway kingdom on the eastern side of Anadoria?" Adilita could feel the air get clearer with Calico's serenity rudely interrupting the aloofness that the andriod still carried with her. The android was indeed technically immortal and had never thought of any need of acting politically or naively and now being forced with a reality that existed as a game of chess. "That's what I am here to find out actually." Adilita said and brought all the metaphysics down to earth with such a grounded answer. Calico smiled with approval and said, "Sweety, that's nice of you to try but until you can give me a solid answer there's nothing else I can do for you." Misha looked at Calico with cross eyebrows while saying with her insight to try and help Adilita find an answer, "You can't just say there's no helping her when alot of lives are at state if she says a king is looking for generals. That means he has an army that he's trying to recruit you and your brother to lead." Calico looked back and sighed at Misha. "Honey, I just met her and all I want to do is go home back to my husband. I'll do anything for anyone if they can help me and Gypsy return to our home worlds. We're running this little cafe because we're masters at what we do and there's nothing better than taking joy in having power while fulfilling a purpose. We have no other desires in this world to be here but yet we are here."

Adilita began to understand Calico now and her heart went out to Calico now that they were together at the table. "I believe it has to do with the same power I saw the day I was in Mesta and it could be connected to the reason you're here and how you can leave." Adilita offered an answer as a solution instead of bringing up another problem and Calico seemed more accepting of this truth. "I'll investigate it but, in the meantime, let's talk about us meeting each other." Misha became still for a moment because she realized that she wouldn't be included in the reason for Calico's charity. It was a mood that Calico easily lifted by including Misha with her words, "As someone who works for a god for a living, everything has a meaning and every meeting matters." The angel smiled and knew that she could agree with Calico easily as she listened into the conversation a bit more cheerfully than before. Adilita sighed and released the hidden compartment for her gun and placed it on the table since Calico had brought out a very large magical staff to the meeting. Calico put her staff on the table as well as if it were a normal custom to her. Misha just put a feather from her wings on the table and the other two look at each other in bewilderment. "A cat, a bird, and a construction worker walk into a bar." Calico said making the other two crack up at the racial joke. The girls giggled in fits for a few minutes since putting down the weapons meant they were there to talk and not fight. Adilita did look a little disappointed but bore with reality being none-violent as she was seemingly made to be. "I'm Adilita, this is Misha and it's nice to meet you Calico." The andriod said and made an official introduction for friendship rather than a waitress and her customers.

Adilita had unexpectedly found her next clue and yet was far from finding the objective. It seemed that her goals weren't as big as what her new friends shared with her and she didn't even know what Misha was trying to do that day before encountering her. It would take getting to know there a great deal more to get an answer however she was going to be patient.

Ere my heart,

Patience bled inside,

Furthermore carrying sorrows,

So what happens,

Then I say,

"Far away asunder,

Awaiting departing truth.

Delve unspoken thunder"

In innocent youth,

Doth tell me,

Where to go.
