Chapter 4 - A small world after all.

keeping in line with the events that ended and began nearly the same day there were still continuously active causalities to be made aware of. Simply because the focus of a universe may diminish to one person's lifetime for the telling of a tale did not exclude the world which Adilita existed in from carrying out It's basic function. That function itself was the nest egg of life and to contain its existence was it's execution. Adilita would be left wandering in a daze within Anadoria to discover Mesta further but the attention would be brought back to the missing pieces of the puzzle.

After all, did not a continent shelter more than a single species, race, or type of race? Anadoria was centered around the city-states of varying wildernesses which were the keys to understanding the interactions of its' people. Keystone, a literal city in the heart of Karuru forest sat in the said heart for practical purposes as a human settlement. It was not only miles away from the nearest city but also a day or two from it's surrounding settlement villages. Far enough in the reaches that each village had it's own name an preferred trading system but close enough should anyone be foolish enough to begin a war. Thankfully one man armies were fewer than one hundred in ten thousand so a war would be the rare concern. Just enough that even a narrator would not be overworked to track these types of novel characters but not be bored in telling their activities. So indeed, it was a thankful thing for even Ester seemed to work on well executed plans far before the outsiders of the Fourth could try and say grumblegibbersnatcher's dream.

That meant also that the are secrets being revealed now that the king himself should be reading at this time. In fact it is the exact reason why the cities were being named as well as their territories. Somewhere unknowns to prying eyes the pages of a mysterious book flipped with a whispering, "Sssslip". The next section was Suna City to the east in the center of the desert that sprawled far until the coast of the ocean. It was significant for that region and the only place to crop up as a major city-state in a desert that took an eighth of the continent. The rest of the continent was Karuru forest even to the southern borders down to the ocean coastline. The northern part of the continent became separated by the Tsuki Mountains before it became a glacier of ice and snow to an unknown lip. The glacier of ice and snow covered from the northeast to northwest in a slant across the map.

Each major city settled into a nesting corner of the continent and required a fair amount of foot travel for adventures and the like. Sula City, Chan, Necropolis, Regim which was named after Regim X were the remaining city states. Each city catered to separate cultures depending of the trade and needs of the people as well as the race such as Necropolis being solely catering to dark types or hellish beings. The most important part is that there were other places that even though they are not named as a major power they still appeared to have enough power as one it not the fame and that one such example was Lleviathan City which also known as Yeviathan City. Most cities were a mix of technology but automotive vehicles where rather impossible because of the existence and convenience of magic. Why build and waste iron when you could teleport or use your racial class to fly or better yet walk like everyone else on the continent. Guns were still in their limited forms such as revolvers and cost a great deal to manufacture the materials for the weapons. Much of what caters to a development of civilization relies on the dominant race's goals and needs. Frankly, a dragon wouldn't need the need to use a vehicle when they were of the fiercest monsters in the land so the laws of common sense applied characteristic to how each city developed. It's not that the leaders couldn't develop past the industrial era but rather doing so resulted an automatic setback for the balance of magical and natural order. Where should a unicorn want to waltz into a city that the needs of that racial accommodation become evidence to designing a city. Even a shopkeepers ability to do business be able to provide their service or product would look ridiculous if that sensible customer could not be treated correctly. Even factors like the evolution of war also reset with the amount of power one needed to keep the advancement alive due to the fact that even the city states experienced being completely leveled by a monster attempting to make a name for itself or their faction. It didn't happen every day but it happened. So magic lay the foundation of this world. Even the city of Yeviathan which relied on mechanism of golems used magically tuned ore and the innate magical evolution of its citizens to control it. The limit of such technology stayed and only existed due to the Guardian Diety known as Carrow Corrow not the fact that the city advanced technology by progressive evolution. Such a city had been specially engineered by the shape shifter faction known as The Court to harbor demon folk who wished to escape prejudices and use their powers more freely. Should the diety retract it's protection and a rival ruler wanted to claim it then the ensuing war would consume and degrade the technological system implemented, therefore bringing about an equalization back to the period the majority of the citystates belonged to.

Not only degradation be an issue but as mentioned there were factions like the demon hunters group and the human hunters group who acted in part as the law and order amongst the nefarious types that existed to attempt to bring the cities out of balance or carelessly rule a city to bleeding to death from using it's people. It was not a perfect continent but once one familiarize themselves with the cities and lasws the heroes would soon find themselves in a nearly cosmic play due to the understanding of unlimited potential for order and chaos. It also explained why Mondays were so frighteningly dangerous because not all the creatures on the continent began in the same continent and were not of equal power. Some had more power while few had clear and clean lifebackstories to explain how they were not a Gary Sue or Mary Sue's sister. Never in chaos do you find such an equality to exist but also a state of order than recognized the freedom to become legendary if one so chose to. That itself brought to reason why such a faction like the Hunters existed amongst the cities who governed themselves or by the ruler at the time period.

Finally a factor that both influenced by the ocean of people who had great fates were the kings, Queens or the Council of governing. As of the disappearance of the King of Mesta who himself had claimed the throne by default from Dimnu Ester caused an upset in the current ridership the city would be forced to take governing into its own agency. Monarchs often had the collective power to destroy or protect their residences from evil princesses not by title alone but by contesting battles that far surpassed the magic of commonwealth. Often merely subduing the people through power, death, or leadership would be enough to take control or grant the powers to administer whatever diabolical or heavenly plans that conquered their chosen life paths. Such conquests could even the in the fates of humans and monsters alike into a whirlwind frenzy far out of control of even the gods who resurrect time to time. As such, the devices known to keep the continental technology at the present where guns were likely the most advanced operation with the exemplary case of a select few individuals.

Swords and staff were the main means of combat so to possess power than extends beyond the limits of Anadorian continent you had to have been brought from a series of events.

One such event were the Khul, an adaptive life form of collective hive mind that began as a simple infestation of an alien-like parasite then later transformed as the collective souls began to exist. The integrity of the infected souls withered causing the parasites own genetic code to activate it's true function to study and evolve itself through any means possible which included the subjective control of the native life stream. The usage later became known as Khulian Sigils because of the collective that spawned the central being known as Khul. In harvesting Anadorian life through Sigils, it upturned the nature of the continent and the wars of the people into something worth mentioning because it was an outside force that set aside the continental difference against one common enemy. After all, no ruling system could rule over a mountain of graves without descovering the inevitable solitude in laboring alone. The result itself brought Adilita's maker a secret origin and also the sweeping of the hidden pages of the unseen reader.

Despite the differences of the people, age, and goals the only effect is that even cataclysmic events like the Doraxian Khul the repairs of natural and magic continued to bolster the survival of the people. They were not unfamiliar to the falls and rises of their great world, Odyssia. Until now in this very moment did the villains of their time were unable to touch or interact with their existence beyond the telling of a tale to their audience. The King who was hidden in the vast groves of Karuru and deep within the heart of the Court faction had begun empoying the life taking Sigils for the use of his own devices. As each world is printed in category, label, and author inside the folds of space there is also another fold that exists within the mind. Understaking the passage that squarely controls the drama had been the exact nature and purpose the King sacrificed the lives of it's citizens and eventually risks the wrath of the Hunters.

No longer could the slipping sound of a page r- The portal through the Fourth Wall opened. Out peered through with a grin the crowned dome of the King. Sigils controlled the verses around him and flooded into a book hovering six four feet in the air. "Now that I have your attention. You there man staring at me like a price of a million gold bounty are now going to be the first living body I will control to escape this wretched tale. You are not using it anyways and your googling has offended me from the very first world the narrator has tried to impose upon me." With that the book lights up as the spell that had taken the equal amount of time it took Adilita to discover the crystal takes shape. No longer did the King stand there but a man from the audience had been replaced completely in soul! The confused fellow would find himself in a dangerous world and the King's existence never a part of it.

-Eally be acounted for. The events that were occurring. Screeech! Vrrrm. Bang! Where's the King? I can't find him in my thoughts nor can I write anything about him. The k-writer's block.
