Chereads / Fools Dream / Chapter 2 - Return

Chapter 2 - Return

The drive back took a total of 43 minutes, I spoke to the man as he drove, trying to find out the date and what had happened while I was dead. 5 months had passed since the incident and nothing major had happened except new laws on anti-matter. Anti-matter is now supposed to be supervised by an expert and that means it's not accessible to students like me.

When we reached the school I thanked the man and headed to where Ronald would be. I didn't want to scare him so I tried to hide my face as best I could, which was just a hood over my head. As I approached his room I wondered whether he would recognize me or even live in the dorms after my death. I had no choice but to trust he would, so I headed to his room. When I reached it I took a deep breath and knocked.

Knock knock

The door didn't open up so I tried again.

Knock Knock

This time I heard some shuffling, and someone walking to the door slowly. I heard hands press against the door, I imagine he was just looking to see who it was. Suddenly the door opened and I felt a pain in my abdomen, I was stabbed clear into my abs.

"Just leave me alone, it wasn't my fault." Ronald cried out.

I looked at him confused, "is this how you greet your dead friends, I would hate to be one of those." I said with a smile. I grabbed the knife and pulled it out only to see the stab wound start steaming as it closed up slowly. I pushed Ronald into the room and closed the door behind me.

"You...you're not real." Ronald stuttered.

"It wasn't your fault Ronald, I drank it and killed myself." I said with a serious face.

Ronald looked at me regaining his sanity, "you're dead, how are you here?" He asked.

"I woke up in a coffin broke out got a ride here then got stabbed but my injuries heal really fast for some unknown reason and I find you insane and broken." I said quickly with one breath.

"Is it really you?" Ronald asked.

"You can check my grave if you want, and ask the poor people that had their funeral crashed." I said with a smile.

The stab wound was almost gone.

Ronald looked horrified, "how are you alive? We had to literally suck up your organs, they were liquidated." He asked showing great concern.

I grabbed the knife and stabbed my arm, surprisingly no blood came gushing out, but the wound began to steam and heal slowly.

"I don't know, but my guess is the antimatter combined with the matter in my body and synchronized in a half matter half antimatter state, preventing my body from being destroyed by matter." I informed.

"Then why are you healing?" Ronald asked.

"Opposites attract, the matter is attracted to the antimatter, and closes the wounds up quickly, and I'm not only regenerative… I'm also very strong" I said with a cheeky smile.

"Can it be that your human limiter has been turned off due to your regeneration? We need to run to the lab and run some tests, if you don't mind!" Ronald said, gathering his thoughts, while also excited of the possibilities.

I waved my hands towards the door and said, "ladies first," my cheeky smile getting longer, worthy of the description.

Ronald threw me a glare then went out the door in a hurry before stopping.

"Hugo don't be alarmed but I kind of replaced you in the lab, her name is Kana and she has a bright future although she doesn't have your level of genius." He said.

I looked at him with a small smile," so did you get lucky or were you saving her for little ol' me" I said, teasing him.

Ronald just glared at me and continued to the lab with me in tow.

I looked around and little had changed, it felt like I was here just yesterday but it has been 5 months 3 days and 14 hours. The smell of the courtyard was familiar and a bit comforting, it reminded me of 5 years ago when I first stepped onto campus.

Before I knew it we were already there, the lights were lit. I felt a little nervous because it could only be Kana in there and I really wasn't in the mood to meet her this soon. What if she doesn't like me? What if she falls for me at first sight? What if I fall for her? How do I say hello? Those thoughts ran through my head as we stepped inside.

At first sight I noticed something and told myself not to do it but couldn't resist.

"FWEEET FWOO, nice legs" I said, closing my mouth immediately.

She looked at me with violet eyes, "thanks, nice hair it's even lighter than mine," she said with a gorgeous smile.

My jaw dropped, I saw an opportunity and took it, "how'd you like to examine my body, a little weird having another dude check me out?" I asked rhetorically.

She didn't even look at me, but still dropped what she was doing "sure why not, but you have to promise to never ever whistle at my legs again, understand nooby." She said seriously.

I looked at her and laughed, "sorry missy but I've been here far longer than you have, you are just my lousy replacement." I said while laughing.

"Sure bud, I'm currently ranked as one of the smartest in the world 203 IQ," she bragged.

"Sorry babe, I'm at 273 IQ, Number 1 in the world... ever." I said bursting her prideful bubble.

She looked at me in disbelief then turned to Ronald, "is this true, the man who had that is dead, wasn't he your previous partner?" Kana asked.

Ronald looked at her and was about to open his mouth before I interrupted.

"Listen babe I asked you to examine me because I was dead for 5 months, and we need to find out why I came back after my organs literally exploded." I said.

She looked at me in disbelief then looked at Ronald who just nodded.

"I know I went through some changes physically, and we came to figure out why. Just one thing... Try to hide your amazement of my man parts, ok babe." I said trying to hold in a smile unsuccessfully.

Kana ignored that last remark, "you were completely dead then you…" she said before being cut off.

"Correction, I was more like in a half coma, I had a dream of a dark place with some voices that kept telling me it's not time yet… Right before I woke up one of them told me to rise up and I did." I said.

"Was it God?" Ronald asked, getting interested.

I looked at him and laughed, "hell no, come on he sent me back because it was 376-0 in poker, 376-0 in chess, 376-0 in checkers, and 376-0 in scramble. God can't possibly be that bad at games." I said laughing and slapping my knee before a crunch stopped me.

My knee began to steam, confusing Kana.
