Chapter 1 - 1. The Void

The silence was deafening. The space was infinite. They knew it well. The end of one universe meant another was to come. However the silence was still deafening.

They sat calmy in the darkness, waiting for the inevitable. The beginnings were always different. No universe was the same so why should they start the same.

They were focussed. Listening intently for any sound. With no time They could sit infinitely before something started. This was the only downside to being an infinite thing in the infinite void.

A sound!

Was it a sound?

Another cry cut through the silence.

Definitely a sound. They began wandering the void looking for the source. They could feel it's presence. The very life force itself. A small being crying in the darkness. The first start. They smiled as they waited for a change to this new life force. The silence wasn't deafening anymore.

Little by little They could sense the changes. The life force grew stronger. The being started moving. Slowly gaining momentum. They could sense it's frustration as it was unable to see where it was moving.

SCREEAAAAAHHHH!

With that loud scream, a blinding light shoved the darkness aside. They covered their eyes, unprepared for how bright it was. This being would be extremely powerful. The light slowly faded to a dull glow emitting from the being.

They were oddly surprised. The being standing there was merely a child; a tiny thing with big gray eyes. They quickly found their physical form in order to interact with it. A bright smile appeared when it's eyes found Them. A slow giggle erupted from the silence as the light grew slightly. They found this extremely odd.

The giggle continued and the light grew. They stepped back as more things began to erupt. A new physical plane seemed to grow from its feet. It spread further as it's giggle continued. They were forced to cover their ears, not that it would help, as the giggle took over their mind.

It was a sweet noise like honey. However too much could make one sick. This being was definitely powerful. As the land slowly stopped beyond sight the giggle went away. It looked expectantly at Them before flashing the smile again. They watched as it turned its back and began walking across the land that had just appeared. They left the physical plane unsure of what had happened.

This being was unpredictable. The darkness and silence was an easy call. The void sounded nice after the giggle that still ronged in their ears. The noise had been unnerving to say the least.
