"Lifita, this will do." A smile spread across her face.
"Good. Have you been in my garden long?" She gestured to the scenery around them. Their gaze followed her hand looking around.
"Only a few moments. The view is amazing. I didn't think you would have gotten this far."
"You know my name, what shall I call you?"
They furrowed their brow. No previous being had ever wanted to know their name. They had one at some point but it had been so long since it had been used. They seemed to have forgotten it for a moment.
"We were once known as Divine Darkness."
"Divine Darkness?" She smiled. "May I call you DD for short?"
"We..." They contemplated for a moment. "We shall allow this shortened name."
She flashed a smile before turning and walking down the shore. Her hair, having dried somewhat, flowed behind her. The dress lightly swished around her legs. After a few paces she turned to look back at them.
"DD are you coming?" She didn't wait for an answer before turning to continue. They quietly followed, smirking.
She led the way around to the far side of the lake, briefly pausing at the tree line before continuing into it's shade. They paused, reaching their senses into the void, trying to watch the other being. Confirming that nothing was amiss, they continued into the shadow of trees as well.
They continued up the path. Occasionally pausing for her to caress a leaf, inhale the sweet scent of a flower, or gaze out at the view between the trees. They noticed that they started going more uphill. The breaks in the trees were more frequent. The air grew crisper. Before they knew it she rounded a corner which opened to a small clearing.
They heard the trickling of water before they saw the small river flowing down towards the lake. The smell of fresh water and dozens of flowers enveloped their senses. The small pool was crystal clear, begging for someone to relax in it.
She turned and smiled before disappearing into the cave that was hidden in the cliff face. Upon entering it They immediately sensed the difference. They could sense the void. It was so close here, as if they could reach out and cross the boundary.
"What is this place?"
"It's the doorway to the beyond. To the darkness. It leads to my sister who waits for me."
"Your sister?" Their brow furrowed. "You have a sister out in the void?"
"Yes." She didn't believe They hadn't sensed her. "She should be out there waiting. Will you get her for me?"
