Chapter 15 - Disciple

"Wyvern Capital? Why would you go to the Wyvern Capital?" The Village Chief asked.

"To stroll and be a student at the Academy," Lander casually answered.

"What? NO! That would be IMPOSSIBLE!" The Village Chief was shocked.

"NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE!" Lander proudly stated.

After that, Lander started to instruct Yan Yan about martial arts. He was instructing her about the proper posture and hitting. He also told her the importance of martial arts. Although he taught her the basics, he still needed to repeat it for her to create her own foundation.

As what his master told him, "A disciple doesn't mean to learn everything about his master, sometimes you have to create your own foundation to pave your own path. My foundation might not be your own path so you have to create your own."

Lander also told her the importance of having a Virtue, "If you have the virtue, the more people would appreciate you."

The Village Chief who was watching Lander instructing Yan Yan became aghast. Especially when Lander showcased his talent in martial arts. Although he never witnessed a monk, he firmly believed that everything Lander showcased was an art.

After learning that his daughter was forced by Young Master Brokko, the Village Chief got agitated and wanted to take revenge. But after seeing Lander instructing Yan Yan about martial arts, the Village Chief decided to wed his daughter to Lander even though he knew that his daughter's purity was taken by the Young Master.

He was about to tell Lander his plan when his daughter went towards Lander and kowtowed, "Master, please accept me as your disciple."

There was a span of silence when Yan Yan broke it, "You are not qualified!"

Yan Yan spoke with firm seriousness. Lander never expected this side of Yan Yan. Although he has been with her for a week, he only saw her as timid, shy and innocent. He was completeley amazed especially when Yan Yan stared at the young woman never ending her gaze.

Also, Lander never expected this young woman to be willing to be his disciple, "As you've heard, you are not qualified."

The young woman with an unwavering determination who was still kowtowing spoke, "Then what are the qualifications I have to bear so you could accept me as your disciple?"

Then Lander looked at Yan Yan. Lander wanted to see how Yan Yan would play this scene. Yan Yan saw that Lander was staring at her, she blushed, "Run around the village, you can only stop when I say so."

The young woman and the Village Chief felt choking. They never expected that the decision maker would be this young girl. Lander however was quite amazed. She saw how serious Yan Yan was, "If you could do that then you can be my disciple."

The young woman hesitated but with the thought of revenge in her mind she stood up and started running around the village. She knew that Young Master Brokko went to Wyvern Academy this morning. Also, she heard how Lander was able to beat the Young Master Brokko and his allies with his martial arts. She didn't believed it at first but when she saw Young Master Brokko afraid when the young man from the village said his name, she truly believed that she can have her revenge.

While the young woman was running, the two continued training. Lander urged Grey to also run with the youn woman. From time to time, Lander would get angry at Yan Yan to correct her stance and the proper way of hitting, "Even if you're tired, you should persevere. Even if beads of sweat fall, dare not to stop. Perseverance and sweat, accompany them both and you could be at the top."

After an hour, the young woman got very tired while Grey was still running. The young woman was now walking slowly and stopped and when she saw how Yan Yan was enduring while clenching her teeth despite the pain and fatigue, she suddenly had the urge to abandon all hope. She can't bear looking at Yan Yan who was only a young girl enduring that kind of training. She thought that even if she passed, she won't be able to endure that kind of training. She then went towards Lander and complained, "Is this really training? Why can't you teach me how to punch, kick and how to defeat an opponent? What kind of training is this?"

Lander ignored her as he tied a quarter of iron into Yan Yan's hands and feet that made the young woman more scared. But the young girl never stopped from her stance, she also continued hitting the air until she dropped down from over fatigue. Not a word of complaint can be heard from her.

The village chief who was watching and even some villagers were scared, "What kind of training was that?"

For them, it was like a torture. But for Lander, it wasn't just a torture but a psychological warfare. If Yan Yan surrendered, then she has no hope in attaining the concept of martial arts. She might be able to do martial arts but her hits won't be strong enough to subdue her opponent.

Lander smiled when he saw Yan Yan's perseverance. Then he carried her and laid her down on a grassy land not far away from them. Yan Yan blushed when Lander carried her the lover's way. She wanted to stop him but she felt comfort when her head touched his chest.

Lander then he continued his shadow training for an hour before he stopped.

Grey also came back panting. Lander carried Yan Yan who was sleeping and they went back to the place where they stayed followed by the young woman and the Village Chief.

Returning from the place they stayed, Lander laid Yan Yan on the bed and looked at the young woman, "So? You still wanted to be my disciple?"

The young woman bowed down never meeting Lander's gaze. She was ashamed. The Village Chief broke the silence by saying, "How about you take her as your maid?"

"Maid? I don't need a maid. I don't even have a mansion so how can she serve me?" Lander asked uninterested.

"But..." The Village Chief was about to speak when Lander interrupted him. "I have known your intentions. You wanted revenge right? But if revenge was colluding your mind, you won't be able to attain serenity in martial arts. You will only suffer."

"The way to martial arts are perseverance, serenity, morality, endurance and dedication. You can't even surpass Yan Yan when it comes to running. Don't you know that she run for two whole hours without resting during her first time? She's even younger than you. She persevered, endured and she never complained. Tell me, can you do that to? If you can't then you are useless to me and stop daydreaming about revenge." Lander exclaimed that made the young woman's tears rolled down on her face. She never expected that Lander was so harsh on his words.

From the moment that the young woman kowtowed in front of him, he already knew the grudge she has against someone and he knew that it was absolutely that bastard Brokko. This kind of grudges and revenge was familiar to him when he was on Earth.

Thinking of that, the young woman realized that she never cared about the people around her and was only thingking of one thing-revenge. Even during her sleep, she dreamed on how to torture Young Master Brokko. But now, she realized how crude her thingking was. Then she clenched her fists with a belief that she will undergo this hellish training for her not to suffer and be bullied again, "I will do it! I will train under you and endure, persevere and won't complain."

"That won't be necessarry. I won't be accepting you as my disciple anyway." Lander said calmly.

"I don't care if you accept me or not but I will follow you and will do what you do. I will be your maid, you won't here a word of complaint from me from now on." The young woman said with firm seriousness that made the Village Chief shock. He never expected that his daughter had this kind of atittude.

"Then do what you want to do," Lander said with no interest.

After that, Lander went to rest for four hours and packed his belongings. The Village Chief also stayed. Lander also remembered the phone he has-OPPO f9. He took it out from the secret pocket of his bag and checked whether it has a signal.

He frowned upon checking that their was no signal. He can't even play the MMORPG on his phone. But he never cared anyway because it was just his past time to play his phone. Instead he went to the music feature and let the music be heard by the people around him.

"Oh! Give me the beat boys and free my soul

I wanna get lost in your rock and roll

And drift away"

The phone started singing that made the people and the beast around him startled. The Village Chief asked, "What is that thing young man? And is this music? I never thought music could be played by words. I only knew that music can only be played by instruments."

Then Lander was stunned and thought to himself, 'Music can only be played by instruments? They have never heard of singing? So the people in this world don't know what singing is. Then that's a good idea! In this world, I would be the founder of singing.'

"This is a phone. And the music you're hearing is called singing. Singing is a music that can be played by words. And those words are called song. The title of the song is 'Drift Away' sung by Uncle Krakker." Lander explained.

"Uncle Krakker?" Yan Yan asked curiously.

"Nevermind! You don't know him anyway." Lander shrugged.

Then the phone beeped, apparently it was lowbat and died down. Lander cursed, "Damn!"

"Why did it stop?" The young woman asked. She was getting engrossed by the music.

"Low battery," Lander replied frowning.

"Low battery?" The Village Chief asked.

"Nothing," Lander knew that they wouldn't understand it even if he explained it. "It won't function again so let's go now to the Wyvern Capital."

Then he continued packing. Yan Yan also packed her things. The young woman didn't have things on her because it was left at the house of the Young Master Brokko. She never cared about it because she just wanted to leave that damned place. And she only has a few things at his father's house.

The young woman ran to his father house to get her few clothes and went back to where Lander was. But when she was there, she only saw her father alone, "Father? Where did they go?"

"They already left," The Village Chief said sighing.

"What? How could they leave me here?" The young woman broke down with sadness. But with determination she stood up, "Father, I will follow them so I have to leave you again but I will come back. Where's the direction they went to?"

The Village Chief knew her daughter, he knew that she was determined to chase after Lander. Although he doesn't like to part with his daughter he could only submit to her determination so he pointed the way where Lander, Yan Yan and Grey traversed, "Sigh! So this is the fate you wanted."

The young woman ran to where his father pointed not even saying a proper goodbye to her father. She firmly believed that if she followed that man then she will become stronger.
