Chereads / The Legendary Journey of an Outcast / Chapter 21 - Only Disciple

Chapter 21 - Only Disciple

The next morning, Lander woke up and went outside the cave. There was no storm but a little drizzle, it was a peaceful morning.

Lander went back to the cave and wore his jugging pants paired with a sleeveless shirt and on his feet was a rubber shoes.

When the people saw him, there was a confused reaction. Some were awed by the new garments they were witnessing and some were dumbfounded and mocked him.

When they first saw Lander, he was in a mess and he wasn't dressed neatly. Yesterday when he regained consciousness, the Great Baron Bobby asked the elites for an extra clothing so he was wearing the clothing trend of this world.

But today, they were witnessing a new set of clothing and was totally bewildered how the garments fitted him nicely.

When the enchanting woman saw Lander this time, her heart palpitated and she couldn't help but gulped. She stared at him and didn't know why but she felt something towards him. But she soon shook her head.

Anushka giggled when she saw the not that appealing face of Lander became very alluring wearing those clothes.

Elizaveta even wanted to hug her and throw herself into him upon seeing him with his new looks but she didn't dare to. She knew that a man like Lander was out of her league even though they are both outcasts.

Even some of the women were having a thought of being with him for a night.

Yan Yan was used to Lander's clothing so she wasn't as shocked, amazed and awed by his clothing. Even the Great Baron wasn't that interested in his clothing.

Not minding the gazes of the crowd, Lander urged Yan Yan and Grey to go running. But before they stepped out, they heard the voice of the Great Baron, "Aren't you going to the capital?"

"Of course we're going. But first, we should train before travelling," Lander spoke as he was about to strode out.

"Then we shall take our leave," The enchanting woman said gazing at Lander.

Lander stopped and looked at her, "Oh? You guys going already? Sure then. Take care guys!"

He was about to start running when he remembered, "Oh by the way, before you go, can I have the chance to know the name of such a goddess?"

"Bastard!" The enchanting woman cursed at him.

"Did I ever do something wrong to her? Or is she still on period? What's wrong asking the name? Why do I have to be cursed just by asking?" Lander said as he turned to Anushka then he sighed.

Upon hearing this, the enchanting woman deliberated for why was she very angry at Lander. It's true that Lander didn't do anything wrong to her. She was just angry because of his rude behaviour-the handshake, hugging and cheek kissing. But it wasn't actually a rude behaviour for Lander because that was how people on Earth appreciated and respected people.

Also, the way he treated Yan Yan was very brutal that made her more angry. But why was she angry? Just because of Yan Yan? Who was Yan Yan to her?

The enchanting woman was having a thought to apologize when she heard Anushka, "Why don't you just ask me her name?"

"Naah! Nevermind! Although she's has the beauty of a goddess, she's rude, unpredictable and unreasonable," Lander spoke shrugging.

"What? What did you say?" The enchanting woman shouted angrily.

"What did I say? Who are you anyway? How dare you eavesdrop on our conversation," Lander mocked. He was not a person easy to be bullied.

"You.…..!" The enchanting woman can't make out a reply because what Lander said was true. She was secretly listening to their conversation.

"Me what? Now your silent. Don't you know that silence means yes? So you really are eavesdropping. Tsk Tsk Tsk" Lander said shaking his head.

"I hate you!" The enchanting woman shouted angrily stomping her feet.

"Hah! The more you hate the more you love," Lander teased as he winked at her.

The enchanting woman couldn't fathom how Lander could reply so fast, her face was so red because of anger and embarrassment.

Anushka sighed and shook her head, "Do you like her? Are you so interested in her?"

"Like her? Well, I couldn't say no right? I'm just a man after all who has this desire when seeing a beauty so you can't blame me. But I know that I can only have her in my mind. In this world a peerless beauty and an outcast being together, that would be a laughingstock." Lander said seriously.

Then he shook his head, "Although I'm really interested in her. I can't have her. I know my limitations and I will only bring her problems if I woo her. That is the truth I have to accept."

Then Lander signaled both Grey and Yan Yan, "Let's go."

When the enchanting woman heard Lander's words she was stunned, she never expected that Lander was actually into her but when Lander said the he can't have her, she felt a sting in her delicate heart. "Why do I have to feel it this way? He's nobody to me."

But deep inside her, "If I should have just told him my name-Aria."

All of this scene was witnessed by the Great Baron and immediately casted a barrier in the entrance of the cave so Lander couldn't move out because he wanted to ask Lander about something.

Lander who was running to go outside hit an invisible barrier. "Dang! What the hell?"

"Forgive me young man but please listen to me first." The Great Baron apologized with seriousness.

"What now Elder?" Lander asked with heavy shoulders.

"Do you want to be my disciple?" The Great Baron Bobby asked not foregoing his seriousness.

"What?" All the people who heard him was dumbfounded.

"Are you serious Senior?" Aria was so shocked with her eyes wide open and using her one hand to cover her mouth.

The Great Baron nodded. Ever since he met Lander, he has this feeling towards him that he was full of mysteries and miracles. He has been thinking about this the past few days that's why he deliberately searched for him.

Coincidentally, he found him poisoned and was on the verge of dying but he again created a miracle by surviving death. It was then that he should not let him go and protect him.

"Are you serious Elder? I'm an outcast." Lander said aghast. How could an elite be able to make an outcast his disciple when he couldn't perform magic.

"I know but I trust my instinct that you are not a simple outcast." The Great Baron said smiling.

"I will only give you lots of problems. You would even be mocked if they knew about this." Lander said shaking his head.

"I'm willing to take the risks," The Great Baron said still smiling.

There were murmerings around but they didn't paid them any attention.

"Forgive me Elder if I won't agree," Lander apologized as he bowed.

"What?" The people around were even more dumbfounded. "How can he not agree? If he has the Great Baron as a backer nobody would make trouble towards him."

"He's wasting such a precious opportunity," One of them sighed and shook his head.

"Why?" The Great Baron Bobby said with knitted brows.

"Sigh! I know you wanted to protect me by having me as your disciple but I don't want to be protected by anyone. I'm a free man that sometimes follow the rules but most often the not, I always disregard it. I don't want to be bounded by responsibilities and only I follow myself." Lander said with firm attitude.

"So you don't want to be my disciple because of the rules and responsibilities?" The Great Baron Bobby asked confused.

Lander nodded and he added, "Also, it is better for me not to have any master because I would only be a hindrance and a pain in the ass."

"Hindrance? Sure! But just as I said, I'm willing to take the risks. And pain in the ass? I don't mind." The Great Baron said with persistence.

"Just like I said too, I'm not interested to be your disciple," Lander also said with persistence.

"Whether you like it or not. I can't take no as an answer," The Great Baron said as he tossed a golden badge to Lander. "Use that as your identification."

Lander was dumbfounded and stared at badge, "Why is he so persistent?"

"I shall take my leave now young man. Remember, you are the only disciple I have so don't make my instinct be wrong about you." The Great Baron said as he hopped on to his dragon and they soared away without glancing back.

"What the hell was that old man thingking!" Lander cursed.

"Hey! Watch your mouth. Don't you dare disrespect the Great Baron!" One of the elites reprimanded Lander.

"Why not? You wanna fight?" Lander looked at the elite who spoke challenging him.

The elite clenched his fists ready to engage in a battle when Aria interrupted them, "That's enough! Let's move out."

The elite snorted and throwed Lander a disdainful look, "You are just an outcast."

But before the elite moved, he was hit at the back of his head and became unconscious. Lander didn't stopped and crippled the elite's leg and arm by doing a submission lock.

"You? What are you doing?" Aria was stunned even the people around were stunned. They hadn't had enough time to react. Everything happened in five seconds.

"Aaaargh!" The elite woke up by the pain he was feeling. The people gasped when they saw the arm of the elite couldn't be moved and his leg was so limp that he couldn't stand up on his own.

"How dare you!" The elites were agitated. They wanted to dash towards Lander and beat him up. But they couldn't because they were scared that they might also suffer the same tragic outcome.

Nobody wanted to be the first to move so Lander mocked them, "What a bunch of scared cats. All bark but no actions!"

"You! Would you just stop?" Aria scolded him like he was her boyfriend.

"What? You think I would just cower in fear because I'm an outcast? That I shouldn't fight when I'm provoked? That I would just swallow their insults because of my status? The hell to that kind of mentality!" Lander said with merderous intent.

"Just shut up! Anushka, treat his wounds." Aria couldn't refute Lander's words so she just ordered Anushka.

"And you all, don't say or do something stupid," She was so angry so she reprimanded the elites.

"Let's move out if you don't want to be implicated after going back to the capital," She continued ordering.

The elites were afraid upon hearing her words so they just shut up and followed her orders.

"It seems this beautiful goddess has a very prominent background," Lander thought to himself.

"Milady, his injuries are too grave. We should go back immediately," Anushka said while looking grave.

"Then let's go," Aria said as she was also eager to return. She glanced at Lander and found him smiling while shaking his head. She wanted to ask why but she didn't dare to, afraid that she might hear again another words of unpleasantries.

But before they left, she faced Lander, "Next time call me Aria and not beautiful or goddess."

Lander was stunned as he never imagined that the unpredictable woman would suddenly introduce herself to him. Knowing this, his junior became agitated.
